This is my go-to hotel in Puerto Morelos. I have been staying there for more than 20 years and have seen it change owners and many updates and renovations. Always a great place to stay, right on the beach. Great beachbar, nice little pool and always friendly staff. The food is consistently good and now they have their beach club too which has great breakfast. Definitely the place to stay in PM.

I always want to stay longer....

The hotel was right on the beach and it was very clean and quiet. it was a 10 minute walk to the Central Plaza with many restaurants close by. The scuba operation that I used was right next-door. I chose the family suite which was well worth it even though it was only slightly more money because it had a balcony. Housekeeping kept the rooms and the hotel very clean. The bed was comfortable. there was an electric safe box.

Some of the furniture showed signs of wear and tear, the towels were seriously frayed and need to be replaced but the sheets and bedding looked new. There was no electric water pot to make coffee but there was a refrigerator. The water for the shower wasn’t very hot but it was adequate. if you expect a view of the ocean you’ll probably only have it from the third floor but that wasn’t a major concern for me. There was no table for dining in the room I stayed in.

I love the beach club and the restaurant at Ojo de Agua. I have stayed here every time I come to Puerto Morelos. It’s not a fancy hotel. If you come to Ojo de Agua and expect a fancy hotel, you’re in the wrong place. But this place is perfect for me. I feel safe here, it is close to all the great restaurants, and I love the Ojo de Agua beach club and restaurant.

The top step going up to the 2nd floor is a little higher than it should be. I always trip on it!! There aren’t any drawers here. I bring something I hang in the closet that helps me stay organized.

Friendliness of staff at reception, restaurant and housekeeping. Cleanliness of room. Location of hotel. Quality and value for the money of breakfast.

The beach club was an rather inconvenient experience for us. We felt that hustling for tip and consumption was constant, they even woke me up once to ask if everything is ok (which they did like every couple of minutes). Also had the impression that the boys had there had their little "who tips more gets the best loungers" game running. We were denied free loungers ("reserved") and were promised to be the next in the line. When coming back later, we were again denied free loungers, saying that we need to consume something right away to have them (which is incorrect for already paying hotel guests). Self speaking they did not reserve loungers for us... So we mostly stayed away from the beach club to avoid being annoyed on our holidays. :(

I was met with a smile by Salvidor, who helped me to my room on the third floor with my suitcases and gave me all the help I needed to settle in and make my way to the beach and town centre. The beach has a separate Beach club, so there was a choice of two areas to use the beach chairs and the restaurants. The Beach club restaurant offered a very large breakfast at a good price. It was a 10 minute or less walk to the pier to go diving and the shops. The area felt like a village and it was far more appealing then Playa del carmen

The building has cement floors and thin wall, so if other guests were noisy, the room was noisy. I could here other peoples TV’s when their sound was too high, babies crying. If the bathroom windows are open for ventilation, voices carry. Salvidor said he would put up a sign to remind guests to be quiet at night and respect other guests.

We always stay here when we go to Puerto Morelos, and for good reason. For the price, it is the best hotel in town: right on the beach, great pool, nice restaurant (service can be a bit iffy at times) comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. Plus, the location can't be beat, just steps from "downtown"

There is a snorkeling company right next door and customers start arriving around 8 AM. They are excited, and hence quite boisterous and noisy, with lots of loud laughing, etc. A small price to pay for such a great place

Salvador and Edith were fantastic. Taking care of our needs and offering suggestions. This hotel has a very friendly atmosphere and we felt welcome and safe at all times. A very short stroll to many great restaurants and the entertainment in the town square. We shall return.

I would hope for a microwave/coffee pot either in our room or a community kitchen. A hand rail for getting in and out of pool would be nice.

Puerto Morelos has very few hotels on the beach. This is one of the rare ones. They have a pool and a beach bar. It is fun to wake up in the morning on the beach. It is also close enough to town to walk in and enjoy all the restaurants, and music that this town has to offer.

They seem to be in the middle of a renovation. So some rooms seem more renovated than others. We had two rooms, one was great and the other rather primitive still... It lacked a working safe, water never got hot and there was a slight odor. They seemed to be short of sheets and towels. I'm sure two years of Covid have contributed to these issues. The staff worked hard to make things work.

The location is excellent. Right on the ocean and close to town. The rooms are a standard hotel style. The beds are comfortable. The food was very good. You get what you pay for, I would stay here again.

The safe in our room did not work and I reported it multiple times but it never got fixed. The cushions on the beach chairs are worn and could be replaced.

Beach, pool area and location are stellar. rooms were clean and comfortable. Housekeeping staff were very sweet and helpful. This hotel is a great value, especially if you get a family room with balcony. some of the rooms without balconies are not as nice.

Our room was great, but out friend’s room had a very unpleasant odor that was a real bummer. management wouldn’t let them change rooms, which was also a bummer. I would have been very sad if we had to stay in their room. Also we are very eco-conscious people so large bottles of filtered water would have been very much appreciated. we don’t like purchasing single use plastic water bottles.
