This is a beautiful, maze-like riad with friendly, helpful staff and every comfort. After exciting and sometimes stressful adventure within the alleys of the old town, it's a pleasure to escape to the serenity of Bensouda and go for a dip or chill on the roof. Staff went out of their way to accommodate me. I was leaving late on the day I checked out and they allowed me to take a shower free of charge when I collected my bags. Special shout-out to the awesome Aziz, the porter who chills out front, who was always willing to share some local knowledge.

Only really minor things like the design/layout of the shower and the dimness of my room, which only had lights by the bed at one end. Also as a solo traveller I would have liked to explore a bit at night, but didn't feel comfortable in the alleys after dark. A location near a busy nighttime spot would have helped. No fault of Bensouda of course, but something to consider.

The building and the rooms were incredible. The Riad is an old 16th-century home with almost all original work and in great condition. Service was also great, the staff was very attentive and helped us with recommendations and reservations every day.

The tour guide the Riad recommended to us wasn't the best, he only took us to very touristy places all of the shops charged 4-5 times what other local shops charged for many of the same products. Also, the spa/hammam at the riad is quite small and can only accommodate one customer at a time. We were unable to use the spa here and had to travel to a nearby Riad for their spa.

Great riad, located very close to everything there to see in the Medina. The room is spacious and it was good to see an extra heater as it was a bit cold outside when we stayed. The absolute highlight of our stay is the rooftop, worth booking this accommodation just for that, very nice space designed to chill in the afternoon and watch amazing sunsets. Breakfast is good.

We booked the transfer from the train station which was a mistake, it was really expensive 16 euro (comparing to the local taxi cost), they drop you outside the Medina and make use the local porter guy to carry the luggage. Just made us feel very uncomfortable at the beginning of our stay but we did better leaving organising transport ourselves :)

From where do I start writing this place?? My wife and I spent 4 nights in this gorgeous place in December and is one of the most beautiful places we have we've ever stayed and the best hospitality we've ever received. From providing tasty breakfasts, to clean rooms/bathrooms to the amazing view from terrace this place has got everything. As soon as you enter they serve you Moroccon Tea and make you feel comfortable. There is a small swimming pool inside the Riad which is very nice and beautiful. Since we were there in December the nights are quite cold and they have this portable heater they turn on just for you so that you can sit in the lounge and spend some time. I had given my clothes for laundry since we were backpacking across Morocco, the clothes were washed, pressed and folded and given back to me for just 10 Euros. The best part about staying in this place is the Hammam - Its about 30 Euros per person and its totally worth it!! and I wish I remember the lady's name who gave us a Hammam bath. She was fantastic!! extremely humble, professional and she literally took care of us like a baby for those 60 minutes. But its nothing to do with the Riad and they provide porter service to accompany you out at any time during the day/night. I will definitely go back to this place if I go back to Fes.

I don't have anything negative to write about this Riad except for the constant harassment from teenagers, kids outside since its between the alleyways of the Medina and you can get lost.

The building is incredibly historic looking, it had a reasonably solid restaurant, and the staff was incredibly nice. They booked us a walking tour with a local guide that was an incredibly reasonable price and very informative; absolutely worth it if you stay here.

The shower was handheld only (no wall mount for the spout) which was kind of annoying compared to a more western style shower. The location is in a super non-touristy area which sounds good at first, but Fes is definitely a different kind of city. I absolutely would not be confident to find my way to the Riad at night without a porter / guide as Google and Apple maps were near useless in the labyrinth of the Medina. If you have any form of accessibility needs I would not recommend this due to its location, but I feel that would apply to any location within the medina of Old Fes. My partner and I are young, fit, and experienced travelers and this was not the most comfortable location for us.

Fantastic riad in the heart of the old medina. Very, very beautiful with some wonderfully ancient but beautifully maintained buildings - effectively it's three lovely riads in one. The staff are nothing less than terrific - very helpful, very knowledgeable and extremely flexible with my booking because we arrived a couple of days late for personal reasons and they moved the booking to accommodate us. Really a superb place. The only reason I haven't given it 9 or even 10 stars is the food - breakfasts are unexpectedly poor with a limited selection, little fruit, and a slight sense of staleness. The one dinner we had was at best average. It's the only let down in what is otherwise a truly wonderful hotel. If they can just get the breakfasts and dinners right then this hotel will soar into the stratosphere where it properly belongs.

The building is beautiful with many courtyards and places to relax. Perfect oasis after visiting lively Old Medina. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Starting with Muhammad who helped with getting to the Riad with our luggage, through an amazing welcome team, excellent manager and helpful waiter in the dining area. Breakfast was full of choices and changed a little bit every morning. We can also recommend dinner - pastilla and cuscus we’re bothered extraordinary. In the spa area Fatima Az-Zahra in hammam made me feel cared and calm, it was unique experience followed by a perfect, strong jet relaxing massage from Fatima. There were also some options for guided tours and cooking classes. All in all it was pleasure to stay in Dar Bensouda and we recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Fez.

This is the only riad you should be considering for your stay in Fes. Yassine (the manager) and his staff go above and beyond in every single way. The property is an impeccably restored 16th century structure with three courtyards, a pool, and rooftop terrace. It’s deep in the medina on a quiet street - exposing you to off the beaten path beauties and encounters with local Moroccans. If that wasn’t enough, it’s the staff and their excellent service that really sets this riad apart. Many riads in the medina will pressure you to bring your friends there, buy a trip to the desert, or take a “tour” that is just shopping. This is not that riad. Riad Dar Bensouda is a sanctuary where you can come to rest and find people who are helpful, patient, and flexible. We never felt pressured in any way during our stay. In fact, we eloped here! Yassine helped us with many of our requests - from chatting with our photographer (who was in charge of our schedule for the elopement), arranging taxi transportation before sunrise that involved a stop to get the photographer at a different location, calling a porter to guide us out of the medina and to the car at 5am, got us day of last minute reservation at the Ruined Garden during peak season (and somehow pulled some strings so we got a coveted garden table!!!), moved our luggage to another room when we extended our stay and needed to switch rooms since someone else had booked ours, brought us tea exactly on time at the end of our elopement ceremony, checked on us when I got a little travelers’s illness, and helping us book a few classes when we decided the day of that we wanted to dive deeper into Morocco’s art and music. The list goes on. The staff here deserves a serious raise for all they did for us. If that’s not enough to convince you, the riad is impeccably cleaned from top to bottom every day. The floors are mopped and rooms are serviced.

Nothing. I am a Level 10 reviewer on Google, so it’s rare for me to find something that is perfect. But this riad is exactly that - perfect.

We toured Morocco for 7 days so far and this was the most beautiful one we stayed at Facilities incredibly beautiful and clean. The staff makes you feel welcome and makes your visit feel private and special. Their terrace is top for relaxing/taking pictures. Breakfast buffet but super fresh and they make you an omelette on request. You eat your breakfast in the pool area which is so nice. Room comfortable, very clean and modern, amazing shower. Located just outside of the Medina but they can help you get your luggage there (be sure to coordinate this ahead of time as it's an 8 min walk from the parking). They can also coordinate a tour for you with a guide which is really the only way to find your way in the Medina and understand the city.

Nothing, it was perfect.

The hotel is beautiful, and our room was adorable, comfortable, and spacious. We also indulged in a "Hammam" experience (an incredible bath, a must-try!) and a massage. The ladies who provided us with this special treat during our trip were exceptionally kind and caring. I felt their warmth and hospitality, and I wished I could speak their language to engage with them more. Breakfast was also delicious! This is definitely a place where I would stay again, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to my friends and family if they visit Fes.
