Our stay at the riad rcif was nothing short of extraordinary. The architecture is absolutely stunning. Every corner of the riad exudes charm and elegance. The staff deserve a special mention for their exceptional hospitality. From the moment we arrived, they were friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way to ensure we had the best experience possible. One of the highlights of our trip was also a great example of the service. We went on a guided trip and stopped at a tannery. While we had done some research beforehand on pricing, negotiating there was quite challenging and we ended up being overcharged significantly, despite our guide assuring us we had gotten a good deal. When we returned to the riad and shared our experience, the owner and his team immediately offered their help. They went above and beyond to assist us in getting our money back and took us to a store they personally frequent for their own purchases. Not only did they help us negotiate a much better price, but the owner’s brother also arranged for someone to accompany us to ensure we received a fair, local price. Their dedication and willingness to help, even though they had no obligation to do so, was absolutely remarkable and made our stay unforgettable. While most people and place would have simply said “oh we’re so sorry to hear that it happened to you”, Abdel and his team chose to go above and beyond to assist us and safeguard our interests. If this weren’t pure kindness, then I don’t know what is. We highly recommend this riad to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable experience in Morocco.

Family Riad Rcif has a great view, great location near Medina Market, Has a history to die for. The detail in everything is something you just have to come and see. The beds are clean and super comfortable. My room is like from a fairly tail and I slept like a queen. And the rest of the staff were super accomodating, welcoming, respectful, helpful and they have lots of connections to get us what we needed or where we wanted to go. We did notice tourists that were really rude and unreasonable, my jaw dropped. They really work relentlessly for you, to make you feel at home during your stay. Be a good tourist. I really appreciate you so much. Thank you for everything.

Beautifully decorated riad and staff were happy to help. Food and drink service was performed like you would expect at a quality restaurant. Plenty of food for breakfast too.

The only (minor) thing was that, at times, there was washing hung out in plain view and laundered towels piled up in one of the sitting areas.

The best hotel we stayed at in Morocco - the hotel is exquisitely refurbished in a perfect location close to the edge of the Medina. Breakfast is phenomenal as are the dinner options. Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful during our stay. Our group also booked the Hamam and massage, which was a great way to relax after the long transit into Fez. Highly recommend Riad Rcif all around

The only caveat was the guide that we booked through the hotel. They called a central agency who assigned the guide, so don't believe they had much input on the specific guide, but he was purely pushing shops where he earned a hefty commission. Zero history or local context and we caught him in a dozen lies - "today is last day of art festival and shops are heavily discounted" etc. Unpleasant and would encourage vetting guides before beginning tour

Wonderfully decorated palace, in typical Moroccan style, in the Medina of Fez. Rooftop terrace for breakfast and dinner, nice view over the city and the surrounding hills. Great spa (hammam). Nice staff.

As in a lot of riads in Morocco, the windows of the room go to the inner yard. So you can also hear noise of guests coming and going if you keep your window open. (There are not a lot of rooms and not a lot of noise, though). I learnt during my travels in Morocco that the staff in most riads (hotels) has incredible working hours (basically 24/7, no free day. No kidding. No matter if you arrive late at night or very early in the morning, the same staff will be there for you), and they work for a ridiculously low pay. I don't see why we pay western prices when staff don't get a western income. No wonder they all are just saving money to escape to Europe, or hope for a better job. Hotel owners should pay their staff better and offer shifts.

Amazing staff! Hassan helped us settle in on arrival. Took the time to explain the city, medina, do’s and don’ts and was very welcoming. Also Redouan was very nice to us. They helped us decide with planning, taxi’s, transport and setting up the room. Breakfast and dinner are both very tasteful and enjoyable. Compliments to the kitchen. Location is fine to reach by car since it is in the Medina of Fes which is officially not accessible by car. It does take 15+ minutes to walk to the centre of the Medina but no lugging around with your suitcases. Rooms are clean and big enough to accommodate more than 2 people. Love the colour schemes of each room. We would fully recommend this hotel with their staff

This riad is the most stunning place I have ever stayed. It’s a genuine riad that used to be house important people of Morocco and I genuinely felt like Moroccan Royalty while staying there. The rooms are massive and gorgeously decorated, I would just sit in there in awe. The riad itself is the same, ornate and dazzling. The views on the roof are amazing as well, it was hot most of the time we were there but luckily they have a room that is surrounded by glass and AC so you can still enjoy the views without technically being outside. The food is the best that we’d ever had in Morocco. It’s cooked by the owner’s mother. We ended up eating there every night because we didn’t want to miss out! Also there were two men who always seemed to be around and tended to our every need, they were very polite and kind. Amazing workers!

I am extremely happy for my stay at Riad Rcif&spa. The riad is magnificent , with its beautiful architecture and decorations in the main alley , the corridors and the room. The room was lovely and made you feel like in another epoch. We had several dinners in this place , the food is local and simply delicious , and the choices of local wines was impressive. The pastries by Mama Fatima are unforgettable! But most importantly, we were delighted by the kindness and the helpfulness of the staff , they satisfied every single request and came with excellent service at any time of day and night. I have never experienced such a kind service in a hotel, I was super positively impressed by Abduuuul and the staff at the reception, the spa and the waiters. Btw don’t miss the spa! I tried the relaxing massage and the hammam, it is an unbelievable experience, totally different from I used to know. If I go back to Fes, I would definitely come back to this Riad

Nothing at all, everything was more than perfect

We weren't sure what to expect at Riad Rcif since we'd felt very brave booking somewhere right in the Medina. We needn't have worried - it is a sublime oasis of authenticity, tranquility and beauty. However what makes it truly magical are the staff. Abdul took care of us throughout our stay attending to every tiny detail with a rare combination of kindness and utter professionalism! We never write reviews but his outstanding thoughtfulness and genuine tender care of all our needs was truly exceptional. Thah poured passion, love and generosity into us every day as he served us our breakfast, helped us understand the Moroccan way of life - we will never forget sitting in the kitchen watching the food being prepared. Both ooze hospitality that Moroccans are renown for. Go and meet these people, they will touch your heart!

Room and riad were ornately beautiful and comfortable; the whole riad is spotless. We stayed in Cherine Royal Suite. Bathroom was huge as was the shower. Hot water and water pressure were excellent; mattress was firm but not hard and there is an elevator. Breakfasts (included) and dinners (optional for fee) were plentiful and very tasty. Staff Abdul and Lhessen in particular were lovely and extremely helpful and kind. The Hammam treatment and massage were great. Riad is about 5 minutes walk from nearest road with cars - there is some uphill walking. Nothing out of the ordinary for the medina in general. They will send a porter to help with bags, who should be tipped appropriately as the Riad does not charge for this service. The Riad will arrange tours - we took one and it was very informative and we really appreciated it - Abdul took us on the tour, he was raised in the Medina and knows everyone. The stay was seamless and the Riad makes it easy to enjoy Fes.

Having to order three course dinners instead of a la carte dishes is a drawback; after telling the owner we don’t eat a lot and that we wanted to share a three course meal, he told us the portions were small and induced us to order two. The portions were huge and most of the food was left behind. The last two nights we insisted on only one meal to share and there was still food left on the table.
