The perfect location for those who plane to wander around Amsterdam city center.

The crowd in the morning in the dining room for breakfast. Poor wifi connection in the room located at the C level. it was on and off (more off than on).

The hotel location was perfect, around 10 minutes walk from Central Station. Everything we wanted to see was in walking distance but a wide variety or public transports are also available at Central Station. The room was spacious and clean. For breakfast the hotel offers a wide selection of different pastries, hams, chesees, boiled and scrambled eggs etc...

We liked everything! The staff was super nice, our room was great and the breakfast was delicious. If we will return to Amsterdam we are quite likely going to stay in City Hotel Amsterdam again!

The location of the hotel is excellent. Very close to Amsterdam Central Station and the city center. The reception was good with the staff being very friendly and attentive. My room, on the top floor, was clean and well presented. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast had a lot of variety and throughout my stay I was able to try almost everything and I was quite satisfied.

The hotel does not have air conditioning in the rooms. On hot days like they were during my stay, whoever stays on the top floor of the hotel will suffer a little. The room contains a skylight without any type of heat protection. As such, the room becomes unbearably hot. Despite the fan available in the room, it only circulates hot air so it is not a solution. On the first night, I took three cold showers interspersed with a few hours of sleep. That's the only way I could sleep...

The hotel overlooks one of the main canals and is about 10 mins walk from the Grand Central station. Several very nice restaurants nearby. Breakfast was good.

However, we had a room at the back, could not open a windw sufficiently for ventilation and the AC was not particularly good. Very hot that summer (2022 - high 30's) so difficult to stay cool in the evening.

The location was FANTASTIC with only a very short walk to the train station (which was handy as we used the eurostar). The staff were incredibly friendly and always said hello whenever we saw them as well as letting us keep our bags in the bag store for 5 hours. The room had plenty of space which is a rarity as there was 4 of us lads staying there and a clean bathroom. The breakfast was also really nice with delicious pancakes and was open until 10:30 which helped. I would definitely go again.

The lift was a bit small and couldnt fit all 4 of us but wasn't too much of an issue as we were only on the second floor.

Absolutely loved my stay at City Hotel Amsterdam. The staff were so friendly and really helpful, always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. I got a free room upgrade which I was very grateful for, the room was spotlessly clean really comfy bed with fresh towels daily. Breakfast was beautiful and the coffee especially was so, so good. The hotel is in a fantastic location, walking distance to all the main museums and also close to the train station. Highly recommend this Hotel for a really comfortable stay!

Walking up to City Hotel, a small frontage in a large, old street front building and you don't know exactly what to expect - in this case, I found this hotel to far exceed expectations. It is a very well thought out, great example of a small central city hotel. Location is great especially if you need to central station, which I did - less than 10 mins easy stroll to there and slightly less into the central city/tourist district. The staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful, including accommodating a slightly early breakfast for me as I needed to catch an early train for a work meeting. Breakfast itself was great. The rooms are really well thought out, modern, clean, and cost and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. There's a small bar and communal space (which I didn't use) that you often wouldn't see in a place like this. Same with their 24/7 reception. Just great. Highly recommended!

Really, nothing. The TV was small based on modern standards? I'm really hunting for something. I didn't even use the TV - I watched YouTube...on my laptop screen. Im joking. But seriously, I suppose if you want an in house restaurant and a vibrant late night hotel bar...maybe walk into town or stay somewhere else as this isn't that place. But otherwise, this place was great.

Had a very cozy room for one person, relatively small but was with necessary things available. Good breakfast, enough to restore energy level for the day. Excellent location - only a few hundred meters from the central station.

A few yoghurts could have been added to the breakfast selection. A building itself looks like historical renovated building ceilings are sometimes quite low. Mind the staircase - typical feature for Amsterdam, cannot be avoided! :)

The hotel was very nice and I would recommend it. The staff were excellent. Very nice and helpful in every respect. The breakfast area was very good and breakfast itself was very good. The location is excellent if you want to be within very close striking distance of the station, but far enough away to avoid the noise around the station. It was seven minutes walk. The location was also well placed to get to the Hermitage, Jewish museum and Rembrandt house and close also to main roads leading into the shopping precincts and the museumplein, which was about 35 minutes walk away. Overall I felt very pleased with the hotel.

The room was nice but very small. The ceiling height was quite low, especially in the bathroom, which was nice and clean, but I did bang my head on the ceiling. The window looked onto a ‘dead area’. Overall it wasn’t a space I could imagine spending a long period in, but then I basically just wanted somewhere to sleep. Mostly the hotel was quiet. One night one of the rooms had loud music and a lot noise. It was 11 pm when that began, but to be fair it lasted only a short time, so maybe it was someone’s birthday. I should say that I would recommend the hotel and would stay again.
