Perfect value for money ratio. The location was close to both train and bus stations. The room was small, but we just stayed nights there, so it was passable. I liked that there was a kitchen there, so we could fix our favorite coffee, breakfast, and a cup of tea in the evenings; it's very convenient when traveling with the kids. The hotel was full, and all public space was always busy, so this is not the best choice for those looking for a quiet place to relax, but young people and families with kids will appreciate the facilities and easy access to the city.

The reception people should mention to the guests (especially when asked about this directly) that the fastest access to the city is by train, not by metro or bus. Unfortunately, we purchased our 3-day metro pass for the whole family and then learned that we would go a 40+min long way around instead of 10+ min trip with the pass we've got.

The staff was lovely, they were really helpful and kind. Yhe loby area is wonderful and full of life ypu don’t need to leave the otel in order to socialize. Rooms were clean and spacious. The accommodation was PERFECT just 5 minutes to train, tram and bus stations which is really helpful for people who want to see the city. Just one stop away from Amsterdam Central. It has a kitchen where everyone can cook and it is getting used all the time, good for solo travellers. All on all it was great.

Even though breakfast was grand and good there weren’t many options as to people who are customed to eat different things, it was a bit westernized for example there was only one cheese kind and so.

As always I love the cleanliness of the hotel, the peacefulness and interior design of my room, with views to die for and amazing central location, where you can get anything you need from travel, to food, to amenities. The shared kitchen always remains clean and sanitary, some guests tend to be very friendly and considerate of others. I liked most of my roommates during my stay, it was a breath of fresh air to have nice, kind, cool roommates (I travel often) Overall great stay!

The shared kitchen can be very busy and overwhelming (especially for someone with social anxiety) and some guests tend to be rude and less considerate than others. One of my roommates snored really loudly which creeped me out.

Great hotel! I liked: - the guest KITCHEN open 24h and equipped in everything you need to cook your own meals - two big fridges, cooking stoves, two sinks, microwave, pans, pots, plates, cups, cutlery. There is even a washing mashine. Common area is big with bar, billard and other games. - The ROOMS are nice, not very big but comfy. Bathroom was modern and clean. Wifi was reliable. Tv had some English channels. Our room had a view on the P+R parking and a railway line but we didn’t hear anything - amazing! - Big RAIL STATION is literally 2 mins away, right next to the hotel. Trains to Amsterdam Central station in the heart of AMS are every 5 mins and the ride lasts 5 mins. Trams and metro in the neighbourhood so the location is perfect - you can get everywhere easily. I suggest buying at the reception desk a travel card allowing for unlimited train/metro/tram/bus journeys in the AMS region (including travel to Zaanse Schans which is ca. 15 mins away from the hotel by train). - Next to the train station (3 mins away) is a SPAR market. - Hotel’s PARKING is 15€ a day.

The room and bathroom were nice, clean and spacious enough for 3 people. We arrived by car and used the large parking space inside the hotel (we booked it before). The entrance for the car is from the Piarcoplein which I would put into my car's GPS next time rather than Orlyplein. There is another outdoor parking lot there too. The Sloterdijk train station is in 1 minute walking distance, and from there it's 5-10 minutes by train to the Amsterdam Centraal station, hence a really good location if you don't mind those 6 € for a return ticket. Overall, great location for a car traveller who wants to visit Amsterdam. I definitely recommend.

It's not negative, just be ready that this hotel is full of noisy groups of adolescents in the reception and restaurant areas. The service and staff are friendly and effective though, but still allow for 20+ minutes for your check-in.

This is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! The room was spacious and clean, bathroom was great, bed was comfy. There are a lot of amenities in this hotel/hostel, such as a kitchen, bar, communal space, laundry etc.

I liked my stay in this hotel/hostel. The only bad thing I can say is that it would be nice if there was more space to leave your luggage in a hostel room and it would be nice if locker was provided. Also, there are only 2 washing machines and this hotel/hostel is huge (a few hundred rooms) so washing machines were always busy and I couldn’t wash my clothes.

The hotel is located outside the city center, but only one stop by fast train or about 15 minutes drive from the center. The train station is right next to the hotel and the frequency of trains to the city center is high, every 5-10 minutes. Also, next to the hotel is the starting station for several lines of city buses that can take you to different parts of the city. The hotel is quite busy, with a lot of tourists, but everything is organized by the staff and there is never a crowd. We stayed in a triple room with a private bathroom, which is equipped and comfortable enough for our needs. If the stay in the hotel is longer, the rooms are cleaned at the client's request. The breakfast is varied, on the basis of a buffet table and self-service, and the food is constantly replenished during the breakfast period. Also, the hotel has an equipped common kitchen that guests can use and prepare their own meals. We also used the parking space service in the hotel garage, which is safe and clean.

While my stay at Meininger was delightful, I couldn't help but notice that the bar's occasional closure left a thirst for more. Ensuring a consistent and accessible bar service would undoubtedly elevate the overall experience for guests.

We had a private room with 6 beds (4 of which were bunk beds) for our family of 5. The room was very clean, the toilet bowl was separated from the shower, and the sink was outside of the bathroom. There were windows in the room but they couldn’t be opened. Most of the amenities were in the common area on the ground floor, there was a kitchen, a water dispenser, and two paid washers and dryers. We didn’t use the kitchen because it was almost always crowded. There weren’t a lot of restaurant options nearby, but the location was quite good because it only took about 3 minutes to walk to the metro station, and downtown was only one stop away. We arrived around 11 am and were very pleasantly surprised to know that the room was already ready.

Very clean hostel, nice staff and comfortable rooms. When we went down for breakfast the microwave was broken and a really nice lady was cleaning the kitchen. She saw that we were about to throw our food away and she took all of our bowls to the private microwave and heated them up for us, definitely made our day!

The beds in the dorms are very close together (As in the 2 singles were pretty much one double). There was 3 of us in a 4 person room, we were waiting on someone else to join but they never did. Until at 1am when we were asleep someone new checked in. Obviously this wasn’t a huge problem at all but seeing as the beds are that close, turning over in the night and suddenly having someone right next to you was a bit alarming. Again not a huge issue but probably would be better if rooms were filled up as the guests arrive or something!
