Excellent service during our stay! The beautifulhistoric main building is renovated with contemporary features, feels bright, comfortable and welcoming. It faces a scenic canal and has good restaurants, food market & laundry a 5-10 minute walk away. We enjoyed dinner at their restaurant in lovely outdoor seating area and a good breakfast selection.

I wish it were more obvious initially how to get help with bags when first dropped off (we carried a lot this time) and a clear alternative to walking up the grand entry front steps for those with bad knees. (Perhaps that could go in welcome email.) Once we figured it out, no problem at all.

Beautiful property, well appointed. location was great, far enough outside of center to feel relaxing and calm but still close enough to walk to major sites. great restaurant options nearby. Lovely small bar/lounge that was perfect for an afternoon drink. One small hiccup with cleaning of the rooms (delayed to very late in the day), but staff was receptive of comments. Staff overall were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. We travelled with two children and staff went out of their way to make the kids feel welcome.

Option of a small carafe of filter coffee for the table at breakfast (rather than single cups from the coffee machine) would be a great addition to an overall very good breakfast.

The design of the hotel is fantastic! The location is good and the restaurant looked very cosy. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The rooms are lovely. Good parking service. Great place to stay.

Because the staff takes a lot of time for each guest, which is nice in itself, you have to be patient when checking in or out. The mattresses are way too firm for our liking. The pool wasn’t very clean. Other than that everything was very clean by the way. Breakfast too expensive, but price of the rooms very reasonable. Be aware that there won’t be anything in the mini fridge unless you buy a mini fridge package for I believe 30 euros. But I think you can buy some snacks at reception (but be aware that you might have to wait a while).

Beautiful hotel. All the staff were amazing. Particularly the breakfast staff and breakfast manager. Lovely breakfast buffet and made to order eggs, omelette if requested, great ambience with soft jazz music in the background. Bedroom lovely and bed very comfy. The manager working the weekend of the 9th and 10th Sept could smile a bit more. We asked could we pay to extend our room for a few hours as our flight departure was late and he refused in cool way. Perhaps he could add a bit of empathy to his voice when dealing with guests. Great stay and would recommend.

Initially werent happy with room as no view and our honeymoon but kindly upgraded to river view. Breakfast very good and nice surroundings Room cleaned daily and fresh water. Great shower and bath and toiletries smelt lovely. Staff very friendly and professional. Location wasnt as close to art galleries as expected but mastered trams. Lovely views and building.

Steam room was very cool, too cool to use, and didnt use these facilities as much as anticipated because of this. Mentioned this to guy in there and he said it was working ok?? This is the reason we wouldnt stay at property again. Booked because of these facilities. Also a bit too far out. Ate dinner in restaurant once but gluten free option very limited so didnt bother again. **Hotel kindly ordered us a taxi to airport. Smart taxi driver in suit but looking down at his phone as driving all the way there! Didnt feel safe.

The place is quiet, rooms are clean, breakfast spread is good.

They charge 7 euros for room service which is unheard of in a 5 star property. For the amount being charged for the stay, this is terribly inconvenient and unnecessary. We booked a car to airport and they quoted 55 euros. This is already higher than what’s charged by Bolt or Booking.com. It is understood that cabs booked from hotels are usually higher priced and this is okay. In the morning, we were picked up by a van and they charged 75 euros, saying it is a van and this came as a surprise. We didn’t ask for a van and we were not informed upfront of the additional charges.

We stayed just a weekend but that short time was enough to make us like the hotel. It's is beautifully designed with many amenities (like gym, pool, midnight room service, etc) the rooms are ample and again with a lot of perks (safe box, mini fridge, beauty care amenities, etc).

However I cannot give full 5 star because of two things. 1) We order a pizza from the midnight room service, via de app. We waited for an hour and had to call just for them to inform us there was no more pizza (which is ok, but let us know). 2) At 3 am the evacuation alarm went off and we had to rush downstairs, at the end is was just a false alarm but still. Other than that the hotel is wonderfu we will love to be back.

Being our first time to Amsterdam, the choices for hotels were a lot & trying to find a hotel that met our requirements of not being in a crowded or noisy area, we made the best choice with Pestana Amsterdam Riverside hotel. Not only was it quiet, cosy (set in a historical building), friendly & clean - the location of the hotel was in De Pijp, an area that hosts lots of restaurants, cafes & bars, more importantly, trams close by to take you to the centre & the metro about a 15 minute walk, so we didn't spend on taxis or Ubers. I would definitely recommend Pestana Amsterdam Riverside to those looking for a hotel that isn't in the centre. We stayed in the Executive Double & the size of the room was huge.

We were thrown aback by the night room service charge to deliver our pizza from the restaurant to the room, so I just walked downstairs to pick it up myself. I think for the fee paid per night, at least this room service fee of €7.50 should be waived. Choose the right pillows & the mattresses could be less firm.

The swimming pool and sauna were good, especially as they were not busy when we went.

No cold milk offered with tea in the room, had to ask room service for it. Although there was a pillow library you could chose from, I am unclear why they could not put decent pillows on the bed in the first place. Our pillow felt like it was filled with cotton wool balls. Unusable. Slept on the massive square one. Breakfast is 27.50 euros per person. Would never chose that option, there is a wonderful cafe on the next corner that does exceptional food for 12 euros.

Hotel was clean and room was well fitted out, we had a great balcony overlooking Amsterdam with a sun lounger etc which was nice. The food was good at breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff were very helpful and polite.

Hotel is a little away from the main tourist areas which means a lot of walking (or cycling if fancy it) to see the regular Amsterdam go to places. There are some fantastic eateries and bars around the hotel area though. But this meant it was peaceful. The hotel did not get any of the upgrade requests I opted for when the offers came through from the hotel chain and Booking.com the week before so its worth checking they have on check-in and not when you turn up at breakfast to not have the right deal etc.
