I am quiet satisfied with the hotel except H/K, they have to be more careful about room hygiene and cleaning.

Room Hygiene, and maids should be more careful after cleaning the rooms, they close the doors very loud. Not possible to take an afternoon nap

My wife and I stayed at the Swissôtel in Dam Square, Amsterdam, for our 10th wedding anniversary and left our children with family for some extremely rare and previous alone time. The hotel is in an unbelievable location, right in the centre of Dam overlooking Dam square. And our room!!! Facing the square, couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot in the city. The room was lovely and clean, perfect for us, and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed we had ever slept in. The staff were so helpful, both before and during our stay; polite, professional and very helpful. We fell in love with the city and for us, the hotel was a big part of this. I couldn’t recommend it more highly. Perfect location, lovely room and great staff. When we can afford it, and can get time away alone again to return, we will most definitely be back to stay again. Thank you so much for making our time so wonderful.

Nothing.

The staff is 11 out of 10. The location is very central. The rooms are comfortable and you don't hear any city noise. Anyone who has been to Amsterdam and stayed at a hotel or a BnB will know how important these 3 points are.

The room rates could always get a bit lower.

The hotel was easy to reach from the Amsterdam Centraal train station. Everything I wanted to see was within walking distance of the hotel so location was very good. We arrived very early in the morning and reception worked with us to get us into a room early but not sure if it was the room I initially wanted. It was on the side of the hotel overlooking an alley but mostly quiet. The beds were very comfortable. I liked the automatic curtains that kept everything dark.

Breakfast was very disappointing and not worth the price. The same choices each day and a toasting machine that was very slow. I had to put my piece of bread through 3 times to get it looking like toasted bread. They really should invest in a four or larger slot toaster! The lobby area of the hotel is also not very comfortable and gets very crowded sometimes as you are coming out of the elevator and people are checking in or out.

The location is amazing heart of everything a quick 5 mins from central train station. Dam square on your door step. Restaurants all around within walking distance, high street shops right behind the hotel again on the door step. On the main road is the hotel so it’s easy to find. The room was great spacious and well organised essentials required. I would always stayed at sir Adam. But now on I will never go anywhere else besides this hotel it’s just prefect.!

The hotel overall was great and clean however the lighting in parts of the hotel was far to dark like the restaurant and corridors to the rooms. Staff were very helpful except one “Mac” the gentleman was most rudest person that I came across my trip in the whole of Amsterdam you asked him a question he would bark back at you. Simple question I asked and he was shouting at me the other male had to take over even he saw he was fat to loud and unprofessional. He thought he owned the hotel and can speak down at people.. he was the only thing that off putting at this hotel. This person should be given a job we’re he doesn’t interact with guests due to his rudeness behaviour. This should put you off this hotel.. you always get the one that’s a bit to much.

We were able to occupy the room as soon as we arrived even though this was earlier than scheduled time. The room was a good size and the bed was very large and comfortable. Despite being in a busy location, the room was quiet. The staff we dealt with were efficient and friendly.

Breakfast was available from a restaurant next door, but was quite expensive so we went elsewhere for breakfast (there are several options within easy walking distance of the hotel). I would have preferred a shower rather than a bath with a shower. However, it was perfectly adequate.

The property was in a bustling downtown area of Amsterdam, close to many touristy attractions. The restaurant was excellent, the facilities clean, and the staff were friendly and extremely helpful.

The shower pan needs anti-slip stickers. The hotel has no parking of its own. Parking at nearby Q-Parks is a nightmare due to ongoing construction and the complete unavailability of human attendants to help when police close the parking facility entrances for construction. The lack of non-Dutch speaking services on the Q-park service line is poor for an international tourist mecca. Don’t bring a car to Amsterdam.

the location is unparalleled, it's walking distance to everything and food + supermarket choices are right next door and next street behind. the tram/bus stop is right in front of the door. the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. the entire shopping & eating street is right behind us.

we got a low floor (2nd floor) and i did book because i wanted a lift to help with my luggage. there is a lift up to level 2, but unfortunately, i think our room (239) is at the adjoining portion of the next building? we had to lug our luggage up 1 flight of old stairs and down another few steps before we get to our room. we also had to walk a long way around to get to the lift & fire exit. we requested for double bed but they gave us a twin put together, i dont know why they think it's ok to sleep with a line/dent jn the middle, many hotels do that..

The room was incredibly soundproofed given its proximity to Dam Square. The front desk staff were excellent, especially Lola! We arrived very early in the morning and were able to check-in early and even got an upgraded room! This hotel is right in the centre of the action! Excellent proximity to Amsterdam Centraal.

We stayed for 6 nights so could have used a bit more closet space for hanging clothes. This was only a minor inconvenience. Housekeeping was good, but not great - as they seemed to have forgotten to change out all of our linens on one day - this was quickly resolved by the front desk though.

Location was great two minutes walk to Damrak and almost 15 minutes walk to Amsterdam Centraal. Cleanliness is remarkable and the room’s size was very decent. The dinner at “98 Royal” restaurant was the best experience I had during my over-night stay in Amsterdam.

Many amenities were missing for example, there was no shoe horn, no slippers, etc. When I asked, I was informed that they had a delivery problem. All staff were friendly except during check in, the receptionist was unexpectedly rude. He was obviously too busy in that night nevertheless he shouldn't have been talking to a hotel guest that way. Furthermore the full room rate was charged around €247 plus an additional €50 and I was informed that €50 would be returned to the same card immediately upon check-out which has not happened yet!
