Reception staff were amazing and very friendly. They were super helpful with luggage storage before check in and after check out, and sorting a later check out time. The hotel is right next to the botanic gardens which was nice, however it is a bit further out from town, but still walkable. Room was very spacious and clean.

Hallway was being vacuumed around 9am with housekeeping knocking on the door at 9.30am. I could’ve put the do not disturb sign out however as I was only staying one night and checking out within the next hour and half, I didn’t think it would be needed. Other than that, everything else with my stay was good.

The room was big, bed was comfy, very clean, walking distance to university and restaurants, staff was friendly, and breakfast buffet with wide variety.

Generally nice, only thing is it was very hot at night with no air-conditioning, only a fan in the room. I suggest installing screens to windows and balcony door so we can leave open at night and keep cool without insects, moths, and mosquitos flying in.

Outdoor Garten, excuse me, Garden. Television was spanking new, loads of channels to my surprise, and the location was defined by Historic Buildings Churches and a Huge Botanical Garten, Unsere Kinder und die Mutti, (that is; my partner and child, wait..children. Meine Gott (My God) was like being somewhere in Europe. The Weather, although the Leisure Lodge could not control that, perhaps because of location, was exceptional. We visited in Dec-April, but will be returning for the Ski Season at Hawea, or is it Haumea. Sank you Sank you Leisure Lodge, we plan to come again, and again, and again!

Nothing.

The location was very good for the University hostels etc but downside was very noisy students along Great King Road, ask for a room facing away from the road and the noise will be a lot less!

It was a very busy weekend in Dunedin and we found it hard to get a park in the hotel carpark sometimes. While it was inconvenient it wasn't a deal breaker. Most weekends I think it would be fine.

Room large and clean. Gardens around hotel made a great setting. Dinner and choices were good as was bar service. Parking plentiful and free. Staff very pleasant.

The only thing I can think of to be negative about was that the bathroom didn’t seem to have a n extractor fan and got very steamy. It also needed a shelf to put things on.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay (despite the weather). The staff were friendly and approachable, all were wearing masks which was fantastic! The hotel was warm, quiet and very clean. The beds were comfortable warm. Close to the botanical gardens (which we visited). Toiletries were lovely, towels were fluffy and the shower was perfect. Within walking distance of most fast food restaurants which was handy for our kiddo. Would have loved to try the restaurant for dinner but we were so exhausted.

The room was a little small for the three of us, but being on the ground floor was great for us. Did have a moisture problem (nothing too bad, opening the window while we were out totally helped).

Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very friendly and polite.

Would be so good to have nice decor in room. A few little additions, like picture on the wall, flower arrangement.. just some colour in the room would make the room attractive to guests. Room only has bare essentials.

Loved the room, was spacious and comfortable. The staff were super sweet, and the food was beautiful (the brownie making it to the top of our list) Multiple entrances was convenient for where our room was. It was 10 minutes, not even from the city centre, and was so warm inside compared to the snowy outside.

Nothing.

The location was handy for what we intended. A nice stroll to town and close to food options and a pleasant 20min walk to the stadium. It’s centralised to a lot of great must-do’s. A lovely outlook to the garden area and right opposite the Botanical Gardens.

I feel the property was a tad overpriced and the price paid did not include breakfast which caused a little confusion.

The location is not central but that means it’s quieter and conveniently located on the one way system for going into the centre or traveling north out of town. Close to numerous franchises for a cheap meal and across the road from the lovely Botanic Gardens and cafe.

There are no lifts so if stairs are a problem or you have heavy suitcases you might want to request a ground floor room.
