Everything. We booked the motel for 4 people, there was another person joining the trip, no issues of accommodating in the booking. We got a room with 2 rooms: 3 single beds and two double beds. Location is great, walking distance from bus stop and ferry terminal. There are a few restaurants nearby and there is a supermarket just next door.

WiFi signal was weak in the bedrooms, presumably they are further away from the reception. However it was usable in the living room. Slight surprise during payment that mobile payment was not possible, only physical cards. Luckily the credit card number used on booking.com was sufficient for payment. Other than that everything else exceeded our expectations.

Janine came to the rescue when I realized id left my charger behind at previous accommodation - she was very kind and helpful. On arrival she answered our questions about things to do/where to go etc

It was very noisy ibetween 5.00 - 5.30 am Thursday morning ….rubbish collection day maybe?! There was very little space to put anything in my room - (where are you supposed to put the 7or 8 pillows and cushions that are on the bed.?! ) but this wasn’t a problem really for a two night stay….

Morty and Janine are the most welcoming people every hotel/motel should have. They upgraded me because my ferry bookings were changed due to grounding. I travel thru out the country and have stayed at top dollar motels, but motels are only as good as the people. Highly recommended in Picton. Top accommodation, it has all you needs and comfort of a home. Down to glad wrap in the Kitchen. Thank you Morty and Janine for accommodating me.

Location is perfect right in the main street, great fish and chip shop across the road and plenty of other dine out places all in walking distance, super market next door also! Room was a good size and everything you need. Hosts are lovely people, very helpful and knowledgeable.

Wouldn't go as far as to say I "didn't like", the car park is quite tight. But considering you are in the centre of town would have to expect that. And what made it work is everyone is told to park as close to your room so works great.

The location was very close to everything I needed in Picton, i.e. the ferry terminal, the train station and also restaurants and cafes. The staff were very friendly and more than happy to help me. The room was clean and had all that I needed for my one night stopover. Although the room was a little cold, the bedding was very cozy and warm, and there was an electric heater in the room too.

The sound insulation was poor, so loud motorbikes woke me up in the early hours. However the location is very quiet, so not much of an issue generally.

The motel owner was friendly, helpful and our later arrival was not a problem. Our room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The motel is situated in the main shopping centre so within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafes and takeaway premises (5 to 10mins). This motel offered all that we required for the start of South Island trip so we ended up booking another night for our return to North Island. Totally recommend High Street Living Motel.

The staff were very informative and friendly. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Considering the size of the room, there are plenty of amenities. The location is amazing, being right in the midst of the town and providing easy access to all facilities as a result.

Parking can get a bit tight to reverse out of if the neighbouring guests don't park far enough in. Can hear the noise outside your room quite clearly - though it's a small town so the noise stops early as the night progresses.

Excellent location, was a short walk from the ferry terminal and car rentals. The hosts were extremely warm and welcoming, and waited up for us when our ferry got delayed an hour. She was very kind to point us to the nearby supermarkets and give us tips for our journey. The place although dated is spacious and homely, has everything you need for a night's stay. Parking available right outside your doorstep

Slightly dated but otherwise nothing much to complain about

The location is excellent, on the road to the center of town, next door to the supermarket, and a 2-minute walk to Memorial Park and the seaside. The boss was very nice. She asked us about the sailing date and informed us of the shipping company and ship information. Especially after our ship was canceled, the boss informed us (the shipping company did not send an email notification). The room equipment is a bit old, but the overall maintenance is still very good, and the stay is still comfortable.

Clean and really comfortable. Great location so close to cafes and eating places. Lovely little touches for a cheaper motel, like bottled water, some sweeties in the cupboard and bikkies to go with a cuppa. A choice of English Breakfast or Earl Grey tea. Face wipes and sanitising wipes in the bathroom as well as shampoo conditioner and body wash. Towel changed daily. Great hosts. Will definitely stay there again.
