This place has upped its game for sure! Last stay disappointing but decided to give it one more try as previously it had been ok. Voiced our disappointment of last stay when booking this time. They certainly listened. From the moment we arrived we noticed huge improvement. The location of room we requested & a refurbished room was supplied. Room had obviously been recently renovated & was advised all rooms were in process of getting a renovation. Breakfast & restaurant in general had improved. & finally after 5 years of staying at Yacht Club the pool had been painted. Looked great!
One wee complaint....no wine glasses in room??? Weird.

I was really injured when I arrived from an injury the previous day. The staff were so helpful and kind. They even brought my drink to my room for me. The food was sensational. The variety for the breakfast excellent. I recommend splurging and buying the French toast though it was fabulous. The view was sensational. I woke early and opened the double sliding doors got back in bed with coffee and watched the sunrise over forest clad hills cosy and warm. Also go see the ladies at picton nails and massage, phenomenal well priced massage.
Climbing stairs to my room. But that's nit picking

I was very fortunate to be given a room with a balcony and a really nice view of Picton Harbour. I found the room to be very comfortable and completely lovely.
This hotel has no lift and with the amount of older people staying, I dont know how they possibly carry their luggage up to the higher floors. I had to carry my friend's luggage up and I saw a young mum lugging a huge suitcase up the outside 'fire' staircase, which was unsafe to say the least. There may be plans for installng lifts, but if not, its something to consider before booking. Or ask for bottom level.

Location and view was excellent. Definitely upgrade to a room with a view. Rooms are nice, clean and beds are comfortable. The wall heater was really noisy so we couldnt use that at night, but there was an extra blanket so we were warm enough. Dont be put off by the tired looking hallways - the bedrooms are really nice. The free continental breakfast was lovely, with fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, yoghurt and toast.
Im hoping the hallways are going to be renovated as they are really old and tired with stained old carpet and paint chipping off the walls. This really lets the hotel down and made us nervous about our room, but the room was lovely.

Fantastic staff, couldn't do enough for us. Excellent location. Lovely balcony room with superb view over the harbour and marina. The manager organised rooms next to our friends so we could be close, even though the hotel was quite busy while we were staying. I also left 2 items of clothing behind and the hotel collected them and couriered them back to me. Amazing service!
Only issue for us was the weather was not great the weekend we were there. Nothing that the hotel staff could do about that though and they still made it a very pleasant stay for us all.

Great to have such a lovely swimming pool for the kids to enjoy. Very comfortable beds and close to town and resturants and the harbour. Delicious juice available for free in the reception area. Delicious food from the resturant.
Check in times could be better - we had to wait a long while - about 1 1/2 hours for our room to become available. But the staff were very apologetic about it but it seemed to be an ongoing issue both days we were there. We could see others sitting waiting for rooms to be cleaned.

The room was spacious and we loved the view of Picton’s Harbour. The bathroom was very well equipped. When we arrived a little before check in time, we were invited to sit down in comfortable seats and enjoy a refreshing cold fruit drink while the rooms were checked and prepared for our friends and us. The hotel is very close to the Main Street of Picton and was a short walk from the train station and the ferry terminal.
It would have been good to have hot chocolate sachets available as well as tea and coffee.

The room was spacious and comfortable, though I'm not sure it was really "superior". I liked the view to the harbour over the rooftops (NB not waterfront). I arrived late my first night and was able to have dinner in the restaurant even though it was nearly closing time, and it was delicious. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful - a real asset to the property. Easy walking distance to station and port (about 10 mins).
It was good to have breakfast included but it was continental only. This should be made clear in the booking as the two staff I asked about breakfast arrangements didn't mention this until I went to the hot food area. There were lots of power points in the room but they weren't near any furniture so half the time I had to leave my devices on the floor to charge. Also, bedside tables are attached to the wall for two-single-bed configuration, so when it's a double bed they are weirdly a long way from the bed.

Wonderful restaurant, good access to downtown restaurant loop, spotless, good parking, very comfortable beds
Room was too VERY WARM... we had to have the windows and sliding doors open with the fan running to get it somewhat cooler and even then it was not really comfortable. The bathroom door would slam shut in the middle of the night as we had to leave the window open and a breeze would come up and the door would go boommmmmm. TV too small to really see from the beds. Also did not see a listing of local resources anywhere - beaches, restaurants, things to do, etc.

Great location with views of the harbour Lovely continental breakfast. The standard room in the main part of the hotel was well presented with good shower pressure.
We booked a standard and superior room. The standard room was in the main hotel building and the finish was far superior to the purported superior room which didnt have the cabinetry to leave an open suitcase or even a towel rail in the bathroom, just a single hook for 2 towels. Shower pressure was also poor in the superior room. Evening meal in the restaurant was poor quality.
