lovely position with great views of the lake

We stayed for four nights and had a great room which opened directly out to the garden, but on one occasion our room wasn’t serviced at all and another day the bedding was just pulled up in a haphazard fashion and our towels weren’t changed at all. The breakfast was quite limited either a fruit/granola option or eggs, although I did get a couple of eggs as well as fruit when I asked for them on the last morning.

Spacious beautiful room with gorgeous views. Very nice and warm hosts. Wendy and David go out of the way to make everyone feel at home. They are the best hosts ever, it makes you feel like you are staying with friends. They are helpful and really good people, offering you tips to make your stay even more awesome. The property only have 4 rooms so privacy is there. It feels very personal and nice, I would recommend and definitely stay there again. I booked the massage and it was the probably the best I ever had.

If I were to nitpick, the mattress were a little lumpy in the middle but it is not bad to give you backache.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Hidden Lodge in Queenstown, hosted by the incredible David and Wendy. Their hospitality and kindness truly made our stay unforgettable. The lodge itself is perfectly nestled in a serene pocket of Queenstown, just a quick 5-minute drive from town. Our room was spacious, sparkling clean, and so cosy. Breakfast was prepared by the owners, which was such a lovely touch. They only used the freshest of ingredients and everything was so delicious, nothing was too much to ask for! If you're looking for a home away from home in Queenstown, Hidden Lodge with David and Wendy is the place to be. They are genuinely some of the most welcoming people we have ever met. Highly recommend!

Absolutely everything was perfect!

Our hosts Wendy and David were fantastic :) very friendly and highly informative of the region with great recommendations, especially for food, wine, restaurants and experiences - we took up many that we hadn't considered and weren't disappointed. For us, this was the perfect blend for a holiday - David cooked delicious breakfasts each morning and some nights we all sat around the fireplace on the sofas in the communal lounge area, chatting. We booked the Wha suite which was very spacious with its own separate lounge and dining area. We chose this room as it was large plus had its own private courtyard directly outside with great views of the lake and mountains. It was great to have off street parking provided, a gym in the lodge and the old school spa! We used the spa one night and it was a great experience, well set up and private. I've not seen or used a vintage spa before, it's quite cool with the wood fire underneath fueling the hot water.

There wasn't really anything that we didn't like - you can be as included or private as you wish here. Some guests used the communal areas, others not so much - it's whatever you feel like.

Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They are lovely people. They really helped us navigate a number of things and had all the local knowledge. The breakfast was first class. As we were leaving really early on our final day they bought us granola, yogurt and juice to put in the fridge so we could have it the next morning. The location is just beautiful. Very generously they have some snacks and drinks for each guest, so my husband and I enjoyed that out on the lawn with the INCREDIBLE view and the blossoms falling from the beautiful trees. It's just lovely. The upstairs sitting and dining areas are first rate. They also recommended we visit Arrowtown - about a 20 min drive out of Queenstown. It was absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of our trip. A highly recommended guest house with very fine hosts.

I am super fussy when it comes to lighting. I just found the lighting/lamps in the bedroom did not do much for the beautiful space. I appreciate that most people do not have this issue at all. We turned the heating off as it got to hot but after that we were fine. The rooms are very spacious and generous. Remember you will need a car to access this place. Queenstown is a very busy city so we ended up using a taxi or uber while we were there so as to not have to drive the car into Queenstown and try to find parking. This was an easy (and inexpensive) way to get around. Once in Queenstown everything is in walking distance.

We loved the Hidden Lodge, best place we have stayed on our trip. The lodge has beautiful views, away from the busy town Center (a good thing what with traffic, construction and crowds) yet close enough to walk in or drive 10 min to. The hosts, Wendy and David, could not be nicer and we throughly enjoyed our 3 nights with them. David is a chef so expect a good breakfast. Wendy gives the best restaurant recommendations, and even drove us in a couple of evenings, amazing hosts! Highly recommend a stay at the Hidden Lodge.

Loved everything.

What a stunning lodge! The views out from our room across the lake were beautiful. The suite was very spacious and very well equipped. Our hosts Wendy and David were incredible and went out of their way to make our stay as wonderful as possible. The made to order breakfast by David each morning was utterly delicious! We also made use of the wood-fired hot tub one evening which was incredibly peaceful with a wonderful view of the lake as it began to get dark.

There is plenty of parking for the lodge but it was a tight squeeze to get into - we were fine getting in and out but it is not one for the faint hearted if you are not confident reversing up/down a steep hill in the dark!

The location, whist a couple of kilometres out of Queenstown, was stunning. The view over the lake from our room will be embedded in our memories for a long time. The property only has 4 rooms so the service offered is very personalised. A great place to chill out and just enjoy.

Queenstown is a must place to visit on a road trip itinerary. It isn’t a cheap location, for accommodation or eating out, but has to be experienced. Parking is an absolute pain in the town, but luckily Uber operates and offers great rates.

Everything - Wendy and David were so lovely and accommodating plus the breakfast each morning was so delicious, loved that we got an option each morning. Just a short drive from town and we’re even driven in by Wendy. The view from this property is absolutely stunning and the rooms were spotless, beds so comfortable and bathroom was huge. There’s so much more i could rave about this place and both me and my partner couldn’t recommend Hidden Lodge anymore, thank you again Wendy and David💛

that we had to leave, we could live there forever haha !
