We had a group in the 6-bunk room, it worked very well as the beds are decent, there is a bathroom inside the room, and apart from being a little squished, the stay was very comfortable. The facilities are great including the shared bathrooms, with large shower rooms and clean spaces, the kitchen was also very good with large fridges and everything you need. The wifi worked well and although you can't change the air con temperature you can open the window slightly when it gets too warm. Great storage for snowboards/skis and there is a laundry available but we didn't use it.
The windows do not open all the way, just slightly, and with 6 people sleeping it can get hot. Some of the corridors had odd smells from poor ventilation, but the common areas like bathroom and kitchen were perfectly fine so it didn't bother us too much.

Great view as we had the top floor corner room facing the mountains! It was a very central place within Queenstown and it was easy to walk around to all the local restaurants and a few public transport options. The hot water heated up very quickly. There is a shared kitchen and some chill out spaces within the hostel and there's a few organised activities that you can join in on eg. movie nights at the hostel.
The bathroom sink was fairly small which would be ok except the shelf above it stuck out as much as the sink. This made it a bit hard to use. The location was central which meant that nightlife could be heard nearly every night (stayed for a week, only Mon and Tues were quiet) - could hear the nearby bars pumping music and people loudly talking up till midnight usually. There is an option to make a noise complaint after 11pm but we were tired enough to sleep through the noise.

The location of the Hostel, the staff, the people, very clean and super cozy !
I know it is a hostel, and I am not complaing just to complain, unless maybe it can be an ideea to improve: (1) The laundry machines and facility ... It is a hostel, there are a lot of young people on budget, the laundry facility is a plus ... but if it is available to all the people, not only for the guest ... it is very difficult to find a spot, at least I could not find one whithout waiting for hours. (2) The noise in the evening, I know it is Holiday season, I know people are having fun ... perfect, but the windows soundprof quality is rather low.

The room assigned to us was great as we get to see the beautiful view outside our windows. The location of this accommodation is near many of the extreme sports offices and bus pick up location. They have a industrial grade dryer machine where it dry up our clothes pretty fast. The room is comfortable and the temperature in the room is adjustable. Very recommended.
The bed can be a little noisy even when you moved a little bit. The room may not be so spacious but we can make do with it. Generally in Queenstown it is hard to find a free parking lot. It took us quite sometimes to get a parking lot. Luckily, you do not need to drive much within Queenstown.

The hostel is super clean and the facilities are brilliant. The kitchen is great, has everything you need and the views are stunning! The staff keep everything organised and it was always clean. I can't put in to words how awesome the staff are. You feel like part of a family when you stay here and we made some amazing friends and memories!
The hostel is central, so as much as this is great when finding things to do, there is a lot of noise. This wasn't too much of an issues as things tend to quieten down after 11pm. The top bunks of the dorm aren't the most comfortable.

Queenstown was our last stop during our 2 week stay in New Zealand. So glad that we spent it in Absoloot Hostel as it’s location was spot on! Perfectly situated in the heart of the town, and in walking distance to Queenstown’s popular attractions. It gives you an amazing view of the lake too. We stayed in 3 rooms (Triple Ensuite, Quad Ensuite and Ensuite Queen Room) and all are spacious, clean anf comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped but gets packed especially at night. Also, I do hope other guests will be mindful in using the kitchen to keep it in top condition. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. Overall, a great place to stay. Very recommended!
I hope the laundry hours gets extended for guests especially when we’re out and about the entire day and we only have free time during the night to do the laundry.

The best hostel I've ever stayed! :) I'm a solo traveler and stayed in different hostels in different countries all around the world. This one I could range as exceeded my expectations! It is located in the city centre, near the beautiful Wakatipu lake, so all attractions, shops, restaurants & bars are reachable in a few minutes. I stayed in a dormain room and shared it with other 3 guests, the most nicest thing was that the room was large with shelves and hangers to put your own stuff and we had our own shower room. Fantastic! Very large kitchen/dinning room with a spectacular view to the lake, just a good vibe to drink your coffee and enjoy the view. The staff were very kind and helpful. The hostel suggests many services including tours, usage of washing/drying machines and etc. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed the shared spaces in Absoloot, people were kind, friendly and considerate. I stayed in a 6 bedroom en-suite and had the best roommates and experience. The hostel was also very clean with friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. The kitchen has a great view of the lake. I’d absolutely recommend a stay in Absoloot 😁
The room was hot at night and okay during the day, it seemed the air conditioner was usually turned off at night. This made me sweaty and uncomfortable at night.

You couldn’t get a better location! Right next to the lake and walking distance to everything. The staff were really nice and it was so clean! Bed was super comfy, double room had a fridge, microwave and kettle! The laundry faculties were really handy too. There were also a lot of options for tours and a lot of info for attractions! Would definitely recommend this place!
It wasn’t too much of an issue but the elevator does not operate when there are no staff, I am recovering from knee surgery (only sightseeing trip couldn’t ski this time) and was told not to walk up or down stairs but we were on the third floor so I couldn’t stay out too late but I could work around it, I just didn’t see that information before I booked (it might be handy for some people to know if they need)

Fantastic location right on the wharf, awesome views from my Queen room, friendly staff, and pretty quiet for the location. For a hostel would be family friendly too. So good my brother switched from a different hostel to Absoloot and slept alot better for it.
Our room/bathroom vent connected to the communal kitchen one so we had fat build up smell on the days we were there circulating through. Unfortunately, as it was during to Easter weekend, they weren't able to get it addressed during our 5 night stay. Also noticed the communal lounge needed a good airing out.
