The view was superb and the kitchen was very well appointed. We did make use of this! Location is central but we thought next time we might choose to stay closer (walking home) to Queenstown. Warmth of apartment was good and fireplace lovely. The shuttle was great but one night at dinner the restaurant was running very late and we did hurry to ensure we made the last shuttle at 10.15pm. If the shuttle service could be pushed to 11.15pm as the last run it might change our mind to not have to stay closer to Queenstown. The bar area was lovely and one night we had room service and the food was superb. The apartment was very clean and provided a great space to relax on a comfy lounge at the end of the day and watch the sunset over the lake.

We thought that the main bedroom was a little small. There was clever use of the large sliding doors to give light and breadth to the space but our bags and clothing were accessed and much of our clothing/shoes stored in the lounge area and on the desk. This was fine as there were only two of us but may have been more problematic and cluttered if we had come as a family.

Wow our whole experience with the Rees Hotel was so amazing. We booked extremely last minute because we left the Oaks unexpectedly after a terrible experience with them. The Rees Hotel staff were so accomodating to us, they let us check in early, gave us free coffee for our troubles and gave our daughter a free teddy. Seperate to the phenomenal and amazing service of the staff throughout our whole stay, the hotel itself was great. We had a 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the lake, and the room was so beautiful and had every thing that we needed that we never wanted to leave. We will 100% be returning next time we are in Queenstown. Thank you for saving our family holiday, the Rees Hotel!

There was not one thing we disliked

We had a mountain view room which sort of overlooked the roofs of the opposite rooms. So you are not looking directly only at mountains, but the view is still great. Lovely big towels in the bathroom. Excellent soundless heating - no noisy air conditioner! The bed was super comfy. The hotel provides a shuttle service into town (about fifteen minutes depending on the traffic) which is very handy because even if you have a car, parking is almost impossible. The shuttle bus makes it easy to get into town and back. The hotel itself has a luxury feel to it. The reception staff are excellent. There is a lovely area to sit on the4 reception level and have a drink overlooking the lake and mountains.

The restaurant was overpriced especially considering the very small portion sizes. Very limited menu and the service was far below what we would have expected from a five star hotel. We opted for the cheese instead of dessert and it was very disappointing and boring. I was hoping for something really special and looking forward to sampling some of NZ's finest cheeses. Again, portion size woefully small. There are much better dining options in town - take the hotel shuttle.

Lovely location, apartment was clean & luxurious. Staff were welcoming & always helpful. Stunning bathroom in upstairs bedroom, spa bath with view across the lake. Enjoyed hiring bikes & exploring Queenstown.

We had a 3 bedroom apartment with Lake view. This is a 2 story apartment, with 2 bedroom, kitchen & living area downstairs, 1 larger bedroom upstairs. We thought the apartment was very poorly designed for privacy - so that only room at the back had privacy. The other downstairs bedroom, had 2 sliding walls & jutted into the living space. Upstairs bedroom, although gorgeous, had no door. This meant that 2 of the 3 bedrooms had little privacy & were very noisy - hearing everything in the apartment.

I felt safe as a solo female traveller. Everything felt luxurious. The indulge spa treatment was excellent and worth the money. Stunning Lake & Mountain views. Professional staff.

My neighbour wore high heels in her room late at night when returning from dinner and then very early in the morning. The noise carried through quite loudly enough to keep me from going to sleep and then waking me up. The o my way to help this would be to change the tile flooring or encourage guests to take their shoes off on entry. The rooms don’t seem to get much sun at this time of the year.

Fab view, spacious room, comfortable bed, gorgeous fire place. liked the entrance n bar area. we elected not to go the restaurant as their was a group going in and it would’ve been noisy but the food n ambiance otherwise would’ve been a winner I’m sure

I think you need nespresso’s. the coffee wasn’t much chop. The rooms were a bit bland in the styling, nothing plush, noted the cushions were very thin, so it all lacked that luxury feel. we tried to use the transfer but it was full. maybe u need to tell people they need to book well in advance to get the shuttle option in to town.

Lovely modern rooms with a beautiful view. The shuttle service was a huge plus. All the staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful and gave us many great recommendations during our stay. Access to the lakefront walk path was also nice, great place for a scenic walk. Room service food was also delicious.

A little further out of town and while the shuttle service was greatly appreciated I wish it ran a little bit earlier for return trips. It makes it impossible to use the shuttle to return for checkout in the morning.

We stayed in the 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment that came with a full kitchen, dining area, and lake-view balcony. The room is very comfortable in size and cleanliness. The fireplace kept the room toasty and inviting, and the lake view was breathtaking! The beds are firm and comfortable. Huge bathrooms. Special shoutout to hotel F&B staff Kathryn who we met almost daily during breakfast - she's such a lovely person with a beautiful smile, we love starting our day seeing her! And she has a great memory, she remembers our room number and our coffee and egg preferences! What a gem! The other hotel staff, including the shuttle bus drivers, concierge staff (including the lovely and professional Tai who greeted us at check-in), and everyone at the True South Restaurant, all made our stay even more enjoyable and special with their wonderful service. We will definitely come back to stay here when we visit Queenstown again!

The electrical socket design in the room was a little tricky - the socket is too close to the switch. When we use our travel adaptor on the socket, it presses against the switch, which makes the connection unstable.

Stunning views, lovely staff, extremely comfortable room with a beautiful fire place. The hotel food was excellent, the room service was always on time, hot, fresh and cooked to perfection. The free hourly shuttle to and from the hotel was a bonus. We loved our stay at The Rees.

A bath tub would have been great, our room had 2 big beautiful bedrooms, one for us and one for the kids but no bath tub. Apparently some rooms have baths but ours didn't. A minor issue and wouldn't stop us from recommending the hotel or staying there again. We loved it there.

Spacious apartment with genuinely useable kitchen and laundry facilities. Wonderfully helpful team across the board in hotel and restaurant, especially Ashish the sommelier- knowledgeable, funny and engaging. Great meal at True South.

Terrace never seemed to get any sun. Elements of the apartment setup, decor and furniture felt a little dated. Weird oversized sinks in the bathrooms leaving inadequate counter space. Tiny, tiny gym for a property of this size.
