Aden hotel What a great choice for our 2 night stay for the purpose of visiting Milford sound. David and Irene could not have been more pleasant, helpful and informative Parking for your car was right outside your apartment, which were named after local bird species The apartment itself was comfortable, with a good sized bathroom great shower and a well equipped kitchen The gardens in the grounds were looking well even though they had subject to a lot of rain and it has a herb garden for you to use. The centre of town itself was about a 15 minute walk via a walkway also the lakefront a 5 minute walk could also be accessed through a lane. Our next port of call was Invercargill and Irene gave us a great brochure with details of places to visit and stops on the way. You won’t go wrong if staying here!

Entrance was directly into the bedroom area.

The motel is in a lovely, quiet, leafy street a short walk from the lakefront and main street with restaurants. The room was large, with an open-plan kitchen and dining area and facilities for coffee and tea. It opened straight onto the property's garden through large sliding windows, so there was a lot of light. The owners were super friendly and helpful and let us leave our car an extra night as we went to Milford Sound, which was very kind of them.

In spring, parking being under the pretty trees in bloom, you car can get covered in petals that are hard to remove. A very minor point, especially since the motel provides car-washin facilities! Everything else was great.

Easy walk to lake and less than 15 min to restaurants and shops. Great place to stay for price. Te Anau is beautiful! We hiked a section of the Kepler track on one day and spent a day in Milford sound on another day. Glad we stayed 2 days to see the area. It is an older facility, but well kept and the staff was fantastic.

Parking was a little weird, but you could easily find parking on the street if you have a larger vehicle. Even though you are super close to the lake there are no view of the lake or anything else other than the car.

The place was perfect for our trip to Milford Sound as it cut down some of the distance driving instead of staying in Queenstown. We enjoyed that it was in relative walking distance to Te Anau lake. We received appreciated information from the host and a map on Te Anau and general information about New Zealand including using the Gasby app.

There is reserved parking spot for each unit in front of each unit but can be tricky maneuvering out as you'd have to reverse all the way back out the entrance as there is not enough room to U-turn. Still wasn't really a major issue.

The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Provided a map of the town with all the good places to go and a map of our route through to Milford with places of interest highlighted and advice for the trip. Every little thing that you could want as a guest and traveller has been thought of - right down to a clean laundry area with a seat and books on shelves so you can wait or iron while you wait for clothes to wash and washing powder. The rooms were quiet, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, good tv and facilities, spacious bathroom and well appointed kitchen. Fantastic location and exceptional value for money and service.

It was perfect

Everything. It’s fabulous for what it is!! Room was very clean/a great size, comfy as beds, awesome shower/bathroom, and there are even seats out the front to have wine and cheese. The Kitchen was great, even though we didn’t really use it. Your very own car space in front of your room, and the staff were so so nice and helpful. Walkable to town and lake, sober, or not ;) It’s exactly what you want for a very good price!

Seriously nothing. It was our favourite place for the whole trip!!! If I had to put something, sigh… geez I guess it’d be the coin only for laundry facilities. Just meant we couldn’t use them. For us lazy Aussies who don’t exchange cash, we missed out on washing our manky hiking clothes =P

immaculately clean, new and very fresh bathroom, good shower pressure, environmentally focused with refill bottles of eco brands, good real coffee, great size and shape wine glasses, lovely decorating, great service from Mr Herron at the counter and my French friend - a very seasoned traveller who herself runs a lodge in the Pyrenees loved the place too. a steal and great quality for a simple twin studio. We both loved the gingernuts, and admired the gardens - Roses and dahlias just like my Mum! Very authentic kiwi couple running this place, thank you.

My friend had a great sleep but I found my single bed and the pillow slightly uncomfortable, (but it was a very hot night and I had had too much coffee - so it could’ve just been that).

The manager really helped us with our travel plans, including details like where's the cheapest gas station and what time to leave for our Milford Sound cruise. The room was cosy and clean, felt simple but it was exactly what we needed for a night in Te Anau. Just a short walking distance from a nice lake walkway and bird sanctuary, and a few minutes drive from town. The manager also kept our luggage safe all day after checkout during our trip to Te Anau.

We normally prefer larger kitchens but this was just what we needed for a 1 night stay!

Our room was clean and Irene was really friendly. We love it so much we went again the next day to stay another after our trip at Milford Sound. The bed was comfortable, the showers were clean and the kitchen space was big enough for the both of us. Parking was right in front of the room and the location was really convenient. Irene's local tip to just head on to Milford Sound despite the road closure paid dividends and we were extremely grateful for it!

A lovely welcome from Irene and the dog Mollie set the scene for a very comfortable overnight stay. We had a two bedroomed unit which was compact but of adequate size for our family of 5. It was well equipped, nicely furnished and extremely well kempt. TV with basic channels. Beds very comfortable. Good outdoor area to sit in the evening amongst beautiful a beautifully kept garden. Allocated parking, even with a dedicated car wash area. It was also the first place we’d stayed where there was sufficient seating, cutlery, crockery etc for the number of guests. If we were in Te Anu again it would be top of our list.
