Cute and affordable motel close to Turangi. Spacious & quiet, with clean, comfy beds, nice shower & kitchenette. Loved the rural surroundings and all the birds. Good proximity to the Tongariro crossing. It was a really comfortable place to recover the day after our hike and drink tea on a rainy day!

We enjoyed the hot pools, but our second and third nights they were not nearly as hot as the first night; unsure of why. Still enjoyable but we were hoping for a hotter soak!

I honestly enjoyed this little motel. It was exceptionally clear! It was neat and had everything we needed. The hot pools were a bonus and we used them twice. The linen and towels were nice and white and clean. It was perfect for us. Thank you Rainbow Motel

Maybe a torch to get the hot pools at night? It was a bit nerve wrecking not knowing what to expect LOL. We have never experience a thermal hot pool. Although we had our phones I thought maybe a little extra light would be nice

Lovely large unit, sunny and warm. I was going to be later than expected checking in, and the host happily left the key in the unit door for me. When I go into the room, the radiator heaters were on and towels warming on the heaters. The hot pools were just outside the door, lovely water just the right temp, very private and relaxing. Extremely quiet and easygoing visit, would definitely stay again.

Nothing, I was happy with my stay.

The location is excellent for allowing us to break our trip. The kitchenette and bathroom were clean and reasonably well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and warm. There was a bit of a cold snap during our stay but the heating was on and there was adequate bedding, so it was cosy.

The two chairs in the lounge area were not overly comfortable unless you use a pillow behind your back.

I was a little unsure of how this visit would turn out, because after booking I read some reviews that were dissatisfied, and I got an email that the pool was not working. However, we were pleasantly surprised and impressed. The rooms were warm, comfortable, and very quiet. There were four of us, and the room was all set up well for us. Beds were comfortable and the shower pressure was excellent. A new thermal bore had just been put in, so the pools were working after all, and were just what we needed on a very cold, wet night after a long drive. Very enjoyable! Because the bore had just been put in, the radiators in the rooms were not yet going, but the heater that was supplied kept us warm.

The cleaners need to vaccum under the bed and couch and around the television- there was a lot of dust and dead flys etc There were also ants- nothing a simple spray with essential oils can’t fix though If I was to stay there for more than one night - I would request that the cleaners come and do a thorough job

The hot pools, which run 24/7 were awesome and very warm. Three out of four pools were operating during our stay and they can be locked, so they become private pools. When we went for a bath in a pool after dinner, only one was occupied. Rooms were very clean and heating was turned on since it was already a bit chilly outside.

This venue ticked all my boxes - flexible arrival time (tick), free hot pools open 24/7 for a relax or a work out!!, extremely clean unit with electric blanket and light already on - very welcoming despite arriving at a late hour ( agreed to quickly by the hosts via email). There was fresh milk in a cute little bottle in the fridge, a brand new hot shower /bathroom/ fresh towels and ample room for a couple or 3 adults to stay at once. All together very satisfied and will def look them up again if in the area.

Nothing - I luvved staying.

Room was basic but spacious with a comfy bed. Host was friendly and helpful with advice on local walks. The private mineral spas were greatly appreciated after a long, strenuous walk. Motel location was excellent to get to/from the Tongariro Alpine Crossing walk.

Completely unpretentious, relaxed, family run motel with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in! The host dragged out and cleaned the BBQ for us and nothing was too much trouble. The private thermal hot baths were superb, rustic and unquestionably relaxing (the open roof at night allowed spectacular viewing of the Milky Way).
