Turangi Bridge Motel

This Motel is in a nice prime spot! The staff are really working so well to provide exceptional service in the midst of the current labour and skill shortage in New Zealand. You can really see that. We really applaud the staff and owners for doing their very best both in the motel and the restaurant. Well done you guys!!!

Although I have indicated that the facility as average, please do not misunderstand. The facility has everything. It's just that it's a little outdated and tired and might do well with some renovation. But it's still functional. And we all need to bear in mind the current market conditions, it's not viable to get into major renovations at the moment. So although I put an average for the facility, it's quite understandable in the given circumstances but its functional.

The location of the motel is excellent, just off the main highway. Very peaceful, scenic surroundings. The room was well presented, clean and tidy and had more than adequate supply of milk, tea, coffee and toiletries. We stayed here in September and it was very cold but the room temperature was perfect, the beds were warm. Good supply of linen was provided. My elderly dad was visiting from overseas and he was very impressed.

We were three adults so an extra single bed was provided which made the room feel a bit cramped. But it was okay for a couple of nights.

The setting of this motel is so pretty, next to the river and surrounded by lush trees which were changing to the most amazing Autumn colours. The room was clean, adequate and well appointed. We could have our little dog with us and she loved playing with the other dogs staying at the property. The restaurant was cozy and had a great menu and huge portions. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially the lovely girls in the restaurant.

The decor was a little in need of an update and towels were old and a bit thin and shabby. Also, the tiny carton of milk provided (with straw attached) for hot drinks was ridiculous... you needed scissors to open it.

The rooms were bigger than I expected and very comfortable. It was great to be able to bring our dog with us and the rooms were clean and fresh (not at all doggy smelling)

As a motel, it is quite close to State Highway 1, so as expected, you could hear the trucks rumbling past at night. It wasn't so loud that we couldn't sleep, but something to bear in mind if you are noise sensitive. Unfortunately before my stay, I had an accident, so the 10+ stairs up to the accomodation was a bit tricky, so not best for those with accessibility issues.

I was able to leave my motorbike there for a couple of hours, and travel ,with my partner back to find an ear bud I had dropped at the Springdale suspension bridge the day before while I was on an 800km bike ride. The staff were exceptional and very helpful. I also liked the fact there was a bar and restaurant on site. I was also able to get last minute accommodation for my sister-in-law who just happened to be passing through to kinloch.

My partner had half poured a spa bath, ready to top up on my return ,but when she checked it about half an hour later the water had disappeared. It also took quite a while for the hot water to come through.

From the time mum and I arrived we were greeted with warmth, the manager was amazing, the staff were so beautiful, they were so amazing, they couldn't do enough for us. The room was so beautiful, it was emaculate, the ladies who cleaned the rooms do an amazing job. The staff at the restaurant were beautiful the were so amazing. The beds were so comfortable and warm. The blankets were warm with out being to heavey. The Heather in the room was so awesome it didn't take long to heat the room. Oh my gosh everything was awesome. I recommend this beautiful motel and have done when I came home today.

We liked the friendly staff, had everything we needed and were warm. We especially enjoyed the tasty dinner. I really appreciated the fact that we had left a coat behind and the lovely office lady was so helpful in getting that sent to me, that's going the extra mile, much appreciated!

The only little glitch was a few times other people tried to open our ranch slider door, maybe the room numbers weren't visible enough for them?

Tongoriro river right next to motel where trout fishing activity in action is great! In house restaurant provide excellent food and having room service make our stay so enjoyable! Very polite and good service personnel at the reception. No smell at all eventhough it is a pet friendly motel.

Parking at the back of each unit is best to be marked to unit number. It worries a little to go out and come back to find other people parking at your bay. Bathroom needs towel rails so there are enough space to hang clothes during shower or changing. Or consider electric tower rail to dry towel overnight. Pillow at the wardrobe may need cleaning.

We stay the motel many times. they allows dog to stay with an extra cost, close to the river and easy to walk around with dog. Supermarket and town centre are in walking distance. The room is anytime clean and tidy. The kitchenet room has electric oventop, oven, microwave and a small fridge. The restaurant serves a great meal indeed.

Charlie was an excellent host, well mannered, informative and experienced. The motel is suitably located near the village and enroute for travel destinations. Being a semi-rural setting, off main road, appealed

Very definitely the poor sound proofing of activity and noise in adjacent units! A refresh of wall art would make the room more attractive. And cleanliness of TV remote controls?
