The hotel was excellent, highly recommended for a visit in Oslo and overall the experience overcame my expectations. Best location to visit the the city's main attractions, very stylish hotel, nicely decorated rooms, with all necessary amenities , comfy beds and great lighting. Breakfast was superb, with many choices that cover all tastes. They even offer a breakfast ' to go" for early travelers which was really good. Staff excellent, attentive and very friendly. The bar had a lively atmosphere and offered amazing coctails. I will definitely choose this hotel again, when I go back to Olso.

Most attentive and efficient hotel staff of any hotel we have stayed in while spending 3 weeks in Norway. A huge breath of fresh air. At all the other hotels it all appears that Norwegians do not get the service with a smile or service alone philosophy. Even basic helpfulness was absent in most cases in what I would call the "Norwegian couldn't be bothered" attitude. Not so at the Amerikalinjen, superb, helpful and caring staff along with a wonderful breakfast. Best coffee we found in Norway by a long shot! It is expensive but in this case, it is worth every penny. Location, perfect! Midday checkout also a bonus for those on a later flight out of Oslo. Much appreciated by us.

What an amazing hotel. Fabulous rooms with every need catered for, the beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept in. And we've slept in a few!! Friendly and welcoming staff, housekeeping and reception especially. Also Dominic in the cocktail bar, what an asset he is! Incredibly professional, knowledgeable and welcoming. Superb cocktail explanations and a winning smile. Great atmosphere in the bar and around the entire hotel. Fantastic location in a wonderful city. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Only minor niggle would be a couple of the breakfast staff weren't overly friendly or smiley.

absolutely everything! This beautiful hotel has thought of everything. The finishing touches to the rooms are amazing, right down to the sensor lighting under the bathroom vanity. The bathroom was huge. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Amenities kits were abundant and the welcome gift was a lovely touch. The staff were delightful and accommodating. I had clothes that needed drying, which a kind housekeeper took to their dryer and returned to me dry, and folded within an hour… no charge! I loved the well equipped gym,and the sauna area. The breakfast had a huge selection of beautiful fresh food - hot and cold, fruits, baked goods, yoghurts ( non dairy also ) There was even a delicious tofu scramble!!! I have stayed in many lovely hotels across the world and I would have to say this is at the top, if not the best.

Friendly and welcoming staff who really made an effort to make sure guests were looked after - even the breakfast host was super friendly. This is a fantastic hotel in a beautiful building with an unbeatable location in the centre of Oslo. Lots of tourist spots are within walking distance and excellent public transport is just across the road. Very very highly recommended.

Evening meal and room service options were a bit limited - but there are lots of other options in the neighbourhood

No question would recommend Amerikalinjen and would definitely stay there again! What an amazing location- could not be better to travel to/from the airport and to get around in Oslo- incredible public transport right in front of the hotel and easy walking everywhere. LOVED the design and fun yet sophisticated feel. LOVED my room- spacious, quiet, modern. Awesome breakfast. I've traveled a lot and am in awe and admiration of how well things work in Norway- eg the automated check-in and train to airport. The world learn a lot from Oslo/Norway. Only seeing other hotels from the outside it seemed Amerikalinjen is a good value for Oslo.

Staff sometimes seemed to care and other times less. For example, I would kind of expect a hotel like this to know which restaurants are popular and need a reservation (maybe I was unlucky) but I definitely expect the staff to know which buses/trams stop in front of the hotel and not to give me wrong directions. Guidance for dinner was not great on my first night and really really bad on my 2nd night; he seemed he'd arrived in Oslo the same time as me (the day before). I'd also let friends know Google is sometimes very wrong for public transport guidance in Oslo.

Hotel is a gem! Loved everything about it. staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was beautiful (cleaning staff did a wonderful job) bathroom great, bed linens comfortable, location perfect for all sightseeing, trams (very easy to use buy tickets on line or at certain locations) and train station. Best bar and bartenders ever, amazing cocktails. Restaurant food very good and breakfast selections hot and cold (hats off to the chefs). Parking garage was right around the corner can park car for days and get a discount from hotel (you can't pull up in front of the hotel so park in garage first (no tickets use license plate) and check into hotel). Felt very safe walking around.

NOTHING! We did have an inside room so we had no noise. Street side rooms are on the tram lines that go around the hotel not sure the noise levels on these. Restaurant reservations for hotels and in the area are a MUST.

Breakfast was a 12 on a scale of 1-10. (Fabulous crispy bacon was only one positive- huge choices like a cruise ship buffet for breakfast - and they would cook to order as well.) Room was very clean and modern while the building retained much of its historic feel. We took the train from the airport to the Central Station - only had to walk 50 yards to the front door. Felt like we were in the middle of a great part of town - lots of sights, food and shopping close by.

The rooms were so thoughtfully designed and everything we needed was anticipated. The entire hotel had such amazing common spaces. The breakfast in the Atlas was exceptional. The staff was helpful and we really appreciated the cookies & turn down service.

It was hard to get seated and served at the bar - but mostly because it was either busy or closed when we stopped by.

The hotel overall was clean and well designed. Check in was smooth with very helpful staff. The room was relatively small but that's expected in a city with limited real estate. The room itself was lovely, very clean, and the bathroom was fantastic. The shower was a highlight, with plenty of space and good toiletries provided. We were facing onto the main square by the rail station and I was initially worried it would be loud however there is triple glazing and we barely heard a thing despite it being very busy and having buskers with amps outside. Bed was comfortable and the air temperature controls were responsive. Breakfast was also above our expectations, with plenty of options and fast service. Central location meant it was always easy to get to wherever we were going, and Oslo is also quite a walkable city. Would absolutely come back when next in Oslo.
