Clean and quiet, which is saying something for a downtown hotel

Due to a delayed flight, I arrived in Oslo 24 hours later than planned, and CityBox indicated that they would need to charge me for the first night, per their cancellation policy. While I understand the reason for such a policy, I thought perhaps in a situation like this, and especially as I was staying multiple nights, they could have made an exception.

The location is really good. The hotel is located nearby the Oslo Central station and Opera house. There are supermarkets and good restaurant nearby. Bus stop is closed to the hotel. The room is a bit small but acceptable. There are a lot of public space we can use to have breakfast/dinner and chilling.

We have the problem when try to open one of the room we get (twin room on building C) as the door in not functioning well. We have to pull it first so we can use the key card to access. (The staff is helpful walking to the room with us and manage to help us get in.) In addition, this room cannot be locked inside. Please kindly recheck and fix it.

It is everything automatic, lets say, you arrive and go to the totem and do check-in, same way on the way out. We found it very easy and fast and had no problems with it. The good thing about this is that having no human interaction makes it to be more affordable as well. The room is very small but had all that we needed, a good bed and a clean bathroom. The perfect part of it is the location, which is very close to the central station so you can do a lot of walking around and also it is easy to visit more distant attractions with public transportation.

I have stayed here before, about 5 years ago. I had the impression that the common area this time was a little more damaged, lets say. But it still quite good. It doesn´t have breakfast included, it is more of a hostel, with a young feel to it. The automatic way is very fast and easy but it could also be a problem if you need help. There is no one available to make questions, only the totems so beware if you like to have more human contact. Room is very very small, you have to crawl do get to the other side of the double bed because it is all surrounded by walls. If you have a lot of luggage I would suggest you avoid this place because there is no room to manage it.

It doesn't have a gym

The Hotel’s location is really great: it’s near the main attractions, shops and restaurants area, near the parking. The Hotel building is very modern and stylish, the restaurants inside the building are good and nice as well

Unfortunately, our room was a very small room at the attick. The window on the ceilling made us hear every rain drop very loud. Moreover, one could hardly walk or use the bathroom there because half of the room’s height was very low and under the height of a normal person. In most countries this ki d of room wouldn’t be considered habitable at all.

The check in and out was easy and clear! We likes the size of the room and the facilities. The online info was very well presented and I found all of my questions answered.

Small thing: the baggage store is very unsafe. Of course its already nice they offer it, but then you reallt count on it and you make a plan to leave your bag there. It us unsafe because it is a locked room where anyone just leaves and takes bags all the time. There is no system at all. At one point we saw someone coming out of the room, and someone else got in before it closed. You can take as many bags as you want and just leave. I know it is not meant to store valuables and thats ok, but it is relatively easy to at least note the number of bags one leaves and takes. Otherwise anyone can just go in, take their bag and 3 others and leave…

Excellent location. Railway station is a few minutes walk, the tram stops outside the hotel. Inside the building there is a cafe. You can leave your luggage before and after your stay. Whilst check-in and check-out is easy self-service there is always someone at the reception, although you might have to ring the bell and wait a little bit.

In the shower the hot water took quite some time but this is a minor moan, not a real issue. There is no TV, kettle or any glass/cup in the room, so even if you bring your own tea/coffee/juice you will need to get a paper cup from downstairs in the kitchen, and if you are lucky, the receptionist will have a kettle in the office for you. I spent very little time in the room, mostly just to sleep, but if you are planning to stay in all day, you might be better off somewhere else.

This Citybox is very central - 5 mins walk from main train station and many restaurants. The tram station is just outside the main entrance - this makes it very easy to travel to all the attractions. There are many stores nearby where you can buy a day pass for local transportation. Very easy and inexpensive. The lower floor has all the common spaces including a full kitchen though it was not stocked with any food. There are vending machines and a coffee machine (accepts credit card). Many additional bathrooms were also available. Luggage can be stored as well.

The room itself was very small and could have been a little larger but was very modern and well designed. Bothered us initially but got used to it since we were not in the room a lot anyways. Just be aware that rooms are not airconditioned. They will provide a table fan if you feel hot. We visited in late August so it was cooler at night when we were in the room.

The location is perfect, just a short walk from the train station, and the neighborhood is very nice. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. They also responded quickly to our questions via the booking app. The self check-in was easy and they have a large secure luggage storage room to leave your bags.

The rooms are rather small and lack space for your suitcases. We stayed here twice during our vacation in Norway and the first room had a long counter along the window wall that we could put our luggage on. The second room only had a small desk so we put one suitcase below and one on top. The bathroom and shower was much smaller in the second room and you had to fold the glass enclosure to be able to use the sink. A bit cramped but we managed.

The hostel was in central Bergen close to shops and restaurants and easy walking distance to all atrractions, the old town and the train station. It had kicthen and laundry facilities and a left luggage room. It had a lift to the 4th floor and all the rooms had been recently renovated. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke perfect english. The rooms were all secure with a key code to get in and as a lone female traveller I felt safe walking in the area and in the hostel. Comfy beds and the hostel itself was quiet.

The shared toilets were in separate cubicles but the shower rooms had 3 stalls - but I am not sure if it had a door to close off whilst showering, but for 1 night it was fine and it is after all a hostel! Noise from people outside arguing late at night which I heard with the window open.
