The hotel was fantastic. The staff was really helpful, the spa is well worth the cost (in '23, <10€), and the bar/restaurant was not only great but not too expensive. If you're planning to explore and your comfortable walking, the location is ideal. Additionally, it is a great location for taxi pick-ups and drop offs because it is pretty central.

Unfortunately, likely due to the high humidity in Ponta Delgado, the gym equipment (iron) was in rough shape and required significant caution (lots of rust). Separately, it would have been nice to have the option for room service. The hotel didn't offer a shuttle service, but had a partnership w/the local cab company. This was fine, but the 6 minute ride to the airport ended up being pretty expensive (~20€). Not the hotels fault, but it'd be worth exploring shuttling options and/or guest discounts.

The location was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were decent and the beds comfortable. The hotel was clean and neat but needed a decor upgrade as it looked a bit dated but nothing to complain about. The breakfast was pretty alright considering we stayed at one another hotel and they had a similar spread. Nothing great but adequate. The staff however were very helpful and they even offered to make us packed breakfast in case we need it.

The staff was amazing. Very friendly and always willing to assist with a smile. The room was very comfortable. The hotel is a sprawling property with varied amenities.

The property is located 1.6 km from the city centre making it difficult to wander in and out of the downtown core. There are very few alternative places to eat and shop near the hotel. Also, the hotel's paid parking was expensive.

This is a big old hotel in a central location. It is a convenient place that all tour guides and taxi drivers know. There are two large supermarkets within walking distance. There is also a botanical garden and the president's mansion nearby, so the area is very safe. Depending on the room you get, you will either have a view of a huge fountain and the sea, or the mountains, with a balcony. The room size is above average. The bed is comfortable. There are three pillows per person (check the wardrobe for extras). My room included a bathtub and decent toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, soap). The bar staff is knowledgeable, fast and friendly. Meal prices are very good by European standards. Laundry service is competent. I am very happy I got this level of service despite booking less than a week before the start of my holiday.

This is an old and established hotel that has carpeted floors. The carpets have not been replaced for years. The same applies to the air conditioning, which took me a whole day to get to a reasonable temp during the humid summer. The breakfast buffet does not have a salad bar and the espresso is terrible, comparable to instant coffee vending machines.

Very friendly, caring and helpful staff. The room was nice. Breakfast buffet was good, except for the coffee. Dinner buffet in the ground floor restaurant was also good (3 main courses plus a variety of sides, salads, fruits and desserts), staff was very serious about keeping us hydrated. Has a gym, spa and another restaurant, but we did not try these. The hotel has a garage but it was easy to park on the street close to the entrance.

I think the carpets could use changing (or a good wet cleaning), they looked a bit stained and worn. There was one big top sheet and blanked on the double bed (I prefer individual blankets with duvets), but it seems common practice in the Azores (4 of 5 of our accommodations on the Azores used the same practice), so not a big surprise.

Read the reviews before we stayed about people complaining about the lack of choice, but we found the breakfast was superb with just about everything you could ask for and if anything run out the staff where quick to replenish, plenty of off street parking we never had a problem, the hotel charges €10 every day hotel was just a good all round experience and would definitely stay again

The hotel is at the edge of town and is a 20 min walk at least to the centre, however we did notice a local bus service that went past the hotel we didn’t ask about it as we had a car but for those that don’t it’s worth remembering as Ponta Delgado is a great place to eat and drink (every night!) good tip sat & sun are very busy so pre book but the hotel has a great offer which we didn’t realise until our next to last night, if you eat at the restaurant in the evening for a set price it includes local wine and the local beer very good value.

The room was perfect with a perfect view of the roundabout and the city lights. The housekeeping staff was excellent and accommodating to my all my requests. Did not use the pool, but the view was amazing. The wait staff in the restaurant was excellent. Always available to get something you needed and the buffet was full of great breakfast selections. The front dest staff was so helpful, Ana, especially. I wish I could remember the other names because they deserve a shout out as well. Thank you a great holiday stay!

I really can't say anything negative!

The spa, pool and gym were excellent!! The restaurant was beyond our expectations and the staff were absolutely incredible. The rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff did a fabulous job of keeping the rooms tidy. All staff were friendly and helpful! I would stay here again!!

Checkin was easy and very helpful. Parking at the hotel was not free, which we didn’t know/read but the desk gave us a tip to park on the street because no tickets during our stay. The first floor bar had good apps that we enjoyed for a late night meal. We traveled as two couples, and one couple had a better room so they upgraded the other couple to the same. Very kind.

Room was a decent size and overall clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. Air con in the room was amazing. Not noisy at all and kept the room cool without being too intense. Roof area very nice to chill in. Staff were friendly.

Carpets across the hotel and room need replacing. Some huge stains on them which makes it look terrible. Not enough plug sockets in the room. Roof top Pool was very small and the inside is pealing away. Needs some work.
