I recently stayed at beingportohostel in Porto and had an amazing experience! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They provided great recommendations for local attractions and dining options, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The hostel itself was clean, comfortable, and had a vibrant atmosphere. My room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the facilities were well-maintained. I particularly appreciated the common areas, which were perfect for relaxing and meeting fellow travelers. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals. One of the highlights of my stay was the hostel's excellent location. It was situated close to major landmarks, public transportation, and some fantastic restaurants and bars. This made exploring Porto incredibly convenient. The combination of friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodations, and a prime location made my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Porto!

It was my first solo trip and hostel experience. All of the staff members were really helpful and kind! I stayed at a 4beds women dormitory. The breakfast was good and tasty too. The location of the hostel is excellent, i did not have to buy any transport ticket, just when i went to the airport or to the beach(but it is only 4-5 kilometers far so you can walk that distance if you want) The hostel was clean. I would really recomment Being Porto Hostel for anyone!
I liked everything!

Absolutely great location right in the heart of the city!! Staff were absolutely outstanding, friendly and always available for a chat and giving advice and tips about what to see and do in Porto!!
Only 1 single bathroom to facilitate a whole floor of guests.

Love the location of this hostel and found it really authentic. Not as much of a party hostel as others which I preferred for this visit as there's I felt a bit of organised pressure at other locations to with people placed in the hostel to almost 'poach' pub crawl attendees for a fee. Here it was peaceful, calm, and the location is walking distance to lots of beautiful places, near supermarkets, near the Ribiera, easy to access with a short walk from the Metro or short Bolt to drop luggage and settle down here. Good support of a tourist with tourist information everything was very, very clean especially by hostel standards and the bed and pillows were excellent. I really appreciated cold mineral water at reasonable prices available easily in a fridge at reception. So grateful to have towels provided and to be able to leave our luggage after checkout while exploring. Thank you for having us!
It's just standard European hostel/hotel feedback LOL but the water was SCALDING hot at times and the shower head was not working to be attached to the wall.

The best of this place was the excellent staff, very nice and always ready to help. The hostel is centrally located in the heart of the city, not far away from the cathedral and the lively Ribeira district, and within easy walking distance to any place in the historical center. Getting from/to the airport, we took the bus 601 or 602 to Cordoaria which takes approx. 1 hour, from there it is about 10 minutes walking to the hostel (Porto streets are very hilly and partially in very bad conditions). We had a double room with a private bathroom. The room was very clean but quite small and basic, but it looks like that in Porto all houses have small rooms as they are very narrow. The breakfast was good, especially the handmade porridge was delicious. We would stay here again and can recommend it to other travelers. For those starting the Camino in Porto: The hostels/hotels DO NOT sell the Credential de Peregrino, nor the official Tourist information. You can only buy it in the Catedral shop (was closed) or in the Albergue de Peregrinos on the Camino, a little bit outside of the city center (we did).
For us, it was a little bit difficult to find/get into the hostel - there is no big sign on door No. 13 (all three doors of the same color belong together) and although the street number was correct, when ringing, no one was opening the door so we spent like 15 minutes walking around the block and looking for the right entrance. We considered the price for quite a simple and small room quite high, but accommodation in Porto, especially in the city center is expensive.

Centrally located, good breakfast, and quiet room.
The private bathroom wasn’t in the room but down a short hall.

Being Porto Hostel is excellent. The environment is very friendly, both the staff and the people that gravitate to this hostel. There are stairs which you'll have to take your luggage up, but that is fairly normal for Porto hostels. One of my favourite features of this hostel was that the toilet/bathroom was outside your room and only available to those in your room. That way it offers more privacy and it is spacious. It is a lovely old building and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, I wouldn't want to look anywhere else to stay in Porto.
The stairs and taking my 25kg luggage up it, but that is normal for Porto houses and I would still stay in Porto Hostel.

Perfect location to explore the city centre, a few minutes walking from the river, Sao Bento station and the sightseeing spots. There are lots of restaurants and bars around. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful in any matter (accomodation, tips for food or events in the city...). The bed was comfortable and all hostel facilities were kept clean, I appreciated the lamp and socket at each bed and a ventilator in the room.
The room was quite noisy due to the construction works at the street but I understand that the hostel staff cannot do much about it. It would be nice to offer some fresh vegetables for breakfast.

Reception staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Linen provided on the bed was crisp and clean. The 4 bed mixed dorm had lots of space between the bunks and two doors opening to the balcony for views and fresh air (which it really needed on the night I arrived). Spacious storage under the bunks, lockable if you have a padlock with you. Personal light and charging for each bed is excellent. Breakfast was simple but good - bread, cheese, ham cereal and coffee. Breakfast cake was delicious.
Absence of comfortable seats and welcoming light in the common spaces could be a deterrent for those looking for a place to socialise. Could use a few hooks by each bed. There’s a few hooks in the room, but not beside the bed for easy access. Gaps in the bunk slats allowed things to fall off mattress of others in the room and go bump in the night.

Fantastic breakfast homemade jam and cake. The staff were so helpful too. The location was central and we even found a bakery opposite - Bread in Portugal such a treat.
The sinage on the door outside could be better. Even though there was a good description {Three Red Doors} the theater beyon had three red doors too! The actual sign was so tiny. It was my first stay in Europe so I guess I needed to get used to cluing into tiny signage
