I loved everything about this hotel. I cannot fault it for anything. It was absolutely lovely. The location was perfect. I wish I had stayed longer.

One thing is that it's not reachable by car unless it's a taxi or car service called for by the hotel. If walking up hill from a street away by taxi or public transportation is an issue, then keep this in mind. Also upon arrival, the check in is on the 2nd floor and there's no real indication in the entrance lobby showing that when you first enter the premises. These are just things to be aware of when booking and if they are issues for your party, then this may not be the place for you.

The service was amazing and the experience was top notch. From the breakfast, to the concierge, to the staff, to the checkout process, I could not have been any happier. I have travelled all over the world and this hotel provided me with one of the most exceptional experiences I have ever had. I also am generally really lazy when it comes to leaving reviews but I felt it necessary to give this hotel the recognition that it deserves. 10 our to 10 all the way. I would stay there again without hesitation and will recommend it to anyone that asks.

There really wasn't anything that I didn't like. On one occasion they didn't clean our room but we did get a late start that day so it was partially our fault. I have nothing to complain about.

Staff were very welcoming and supportive, especially when we got sick from a local restaurant in Porto. They were very helpful in providing extra bottles of water etc. when we were unwell. Room was kept clean at a really high standard throughout the stay. Wonderful staff, they really made our stay exceptional. We were also lucky enough to get a nice upgrade to a room with a beautiful view of the Cathedral, especially when it was lit up at night. Very convenient location with access to everything on foot.

Soundproofing could be a little better, as we could hear kids playing noisily in the corridor one floor below us, as well as a dog in the room next to ours when the owners left it there temporarily.

Location was perfect. Very friendly staff and breakfast was good. The room was specious and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was big and full of essential supplies. Very quiet at night. The Sauna and the indoor swimming pool were a good way to relax after exploring the city!

Unfortunately our first room that was assigned for us with the twin beds and gorgeous small garden view (Room 207) had an ant invasion! we called the receptionist immediately and they replaced our room but it seems like it's not the first time these little visitors did visit the hotel. Other than that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

The rooms were lovely, well appointed, and the beds comfortable. The staff, especially those in the restaurant, were exceptional. The breakfast buffet was amazing and they offered additional options fresh made from the kitchen. The location is perfect for exploring Porto.

For people with mobility issues, even though there are elevators, there are some mandatory stairs along the corridors to be aware of. We had 2 rooms, one with a view the other without. This did not matter to us, but it may bother some people.

Very new and well designed. Clean, comfortable rooms and in a perfect location.

Overall the service was excellent, but there were a few areas that need to be improved, mainly the breakfast service/organisation. We also had a few issues with our room e.g toiletries not replaced, being charged for water and coffee pods - not great for a 5*.

everything. staff was so courteous. we were welcomed with drinks (port wine of course) and were whisked to the rooms efficiently. we received a complimentary upgrade to our room which was the nicest touch we have experienced ever (the upgrade was significant). breakfast was phenomenal and so was dinner. it is like a boutique hotel where you feel you know everyone. location is great. only caveat: no parking. you must walk a fairly good distance to the closest 24 hour parking.

I failed to ask (and hotel staff did not mention either) if nearby parking Cardosas has an arrangement for guests of the hotel. We found this to be a nice touch at 4-5 star hotels we stayed at in Madrid or Lisbon, where the overnight rate is reduced for guests. If this is not available, I will strongly suggest it.

Very friendly and responsive staff. Elegant building, well maintained. Located in the heart of the 'tourist area' of Porto, so busy area but walking distance to many of the most important attractions (e.g., the cathedral and waterfront).

No parking at the hotel, and the hotel has not figured out how to meet guests at the parking facility they recommend and bring them (and their luggage) to the building. "Take the elevator up and we'll meet you at the entrance" doesn't work when there are 4 elevators. Took 20 minutes + -- and several porters from the hotel -- to sort it out. And our room, though lovely, was literally on a street -- what we saw out the windows was cars and pedestrians walking by at eye level. Someone has to be put in such a room, I suppose -- bad luck that it was up.

If you’re looking for a place in Porto’s main centre and if you want to relax by the end of the day, this hotel is definitely the best place to stay in Porto! We were really well received and they really made an effort to make our stay the most pleasant and even more special. The decoration of the suite is incredible and the spa area is amazing and so relaxing! The breakfast menu is also very complete and everything was so tasty!

It's a really lovely hotel - with character yet modern. Is on one of the main central streets and almost everything you may want to do in Porto is within a 10-15 min walking distance from here. Despite being on a busy street, it's actually very peaceful and quiet in the rooms. The staff however were just exceptional - nothing was too much, they were really friendly and helpful with plenty of suggestions and tips on what to do and what to see around Porto. Was our favourite stay in a 2 week trip in Portugal.
