The hotel is near the shore, which was the cleaner and calmer part of the city. The hotel has some great views, especially the restaurant. The staff are friendly, helpful and speak english well. The breakfast is great.

The room was relatively clean, but there’s a but more to be desired.

The location was amazing. We had a Seaview room on the first floor which also had a slightly larger balcony. The views were just breathtaking... it was definitely worth paying the extra for this room. The room was a good size, air con was great and loads of cupboard space/drawers and mirrors. There are loads of lovely restaurants and bars in the immediate area of the hotel so you really don't need to walk very far. Also the shopping area is close by too. The hotel is situated opposite the Castel dell'Ovo but unfortunately it was closed for renovation work during our stay. We took a boat trip to Ischia for the day and thoroughly enjoyed it - we went to the castle and again the views from it are just out of this world.

We didn't realise at the time of booking this hotel that guests have to book at reception to use the rooftop swimming pool at a cost of 5e per hour per person for a maximum of 2hrs per day!!!! Guests must also wear a mandatory swim cap issued by the hotel! If we had of realised this before we booked then this alone would have changed our mind about booking this hotel which is such a shame given how lovely a hotel it is. The continental buffet breakfasts were lovely however the small selection of scrambled eggs and bacon etc were merely like warm/cold each morning which was such a shame. Buffet breakfast is also served to you by catering staff.

The location is spectacular and very scenic, right by the sea, in front of Castel Dell'Ovo, yet central enough to reach many central destinations on foot, including several restaurants and bars in Chiaia. The hotel design is not new but we found it charming. The room was silent, spacious, nicely decorated with elegant wooden features, and the bed was very wide and comfortable. The balcony was also spacious, with a lovely (side) view of Castel Dell'Ovo. The breakfast was very good: varied and tasty; the sfogliatelle were particularly excellent. The breakfast room was very busy but we did not have to wait long; the front tables featured a remarkable view of the seafront and the Castle.

Inflated prices at the hotel cafè (e.g. €5 for a tiny bottle of Coca-Cola). Our bathroom was quite old, with metal elements (e.g. in the sink and bathtub) visibly used and rusty - this is not acceptable in a 4* hotel, especially since they were not expensive elements to substitute. A wider (and not charged extra) selection of savoury/continental breakfast would be a nice addition.

I stayed at Royal continental for 5 days with my husband and my 1year old baby. The place is very beautiful with spacious, comfortable and very clean rooms. The breakfast was abundant with a lot of choices. The pool on top of the hotel is very good for those travelling with babies because it has sea-water and is within reach. The view was spectacular, but on top of all, the staff was extremely friendly and the services were top. We were very pleased with this hotel and we would definitely come back.

When we made the reservation, we had requested a high floor that overlooked the sea. Our requests were met fully! We had a room on the 8th floor that overlooked not only the sea but the Castel dell'ovo! The balcony was very nice to sit out on when the sun went down and the views were quite nice. One of the nights we were there, someone was setting off fireworks and it was a nice treat! Beds were comfortable, bathroom was spacious but I do wish this hotel had a full shower curtain or enclosure because we flooded the floor multiple times when showering. We wanted to use the same towels to be "green" but that was impossible because we had to clean up all the water. I never learned how to use the bidet......

As I mentioned in my previous comment, I wish this hotel offered a fully enclosed shower to prevent flooding on the floor. Granted, I am still getting use to European showers when I travel internationally, so many things I can look past. However, in this specific room, the half window enclosure didn't even work because we flooded the floor each time someone showered and also got water all over the toilet and the bidet. We even had to move the toilet paper rolls to the counter in order to prevent them from getting wet.

Super very spacious room. Big balconies, view on the sea -unforgettable! my request to be placed on high floor was taken in consideration.. The check-out was super simple and fast. I have paid when we were checking in. No deposit was asked. Cleaning of the room was as expected, the used toiletteries were replenished. Also when we left a sign - to not enter the room, this was also respected. The bed was hard/soft enough, two different pillows for everybody. Outside it was around 11-15C, and the heating/airco in the room was working ok, putting the room warm enough. Variety of food for breakfast was ok. I recommend you to try the traditional Napolitano bread. Coffee prepared and served upon your request is also very recommendable.

The quality of toilet paper. It was probably very ecologic, made from recycled paper, but I bought my own soft good paper. It was a shock for us that that in the room the only available coffee was soluble -instant coffee. In Italy we would expect a coffee machine in the room with a good coffee. Young male staff during breakfast was not very patient when taking the order. If you don’t come with your car and plan to visit the city, be prepared to walk a lot to reach the nearest public transport. In case of any public events outside it may become very noisy during all the night. During our stay, football players arrived to the neighbour hotel and their fans were singing/ shouting and launching fireworks until at least 2am.

The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower excellent. I especially liked the large counter in the bathroom. It was lovely to have a kettle/tea/coffee in the room. The location was superb! We had a side balcony which was very nice, but a sea view would have been even better.

I didn't like being served breakfast at the buffet. I prefer to serve myself. The scrambled eggs and bacon were under cooked and cold. Other than that, the breakfast was ample and appealing. The staff was excellent.

Location - great, very convenient to reach the center by walk along the sea side promenade. View - amazing view of the sea and the castle while having delicious b'fast and strong cappuccino:) Room - the most spacious room we ever had with huge windows, walking wardrobe and a bath tube as a bonus Staff - very nice and friendly Best touch ever - found on the day of my b'day in our room a bottle of sparkling wine Bottega, box with local sweets and a card - thank you very much! Lovely and well done:)

On my opinion the bed is not so comfortable, a bit hard to my liking. And also another thing the milk/cream should be left for coffee/tea in the room.

The location is beautiful, and the vies from the restaurant outstanding. Staff are helpful and friendly. Fruit and pastries at breakfast delicious

We were with 3 and had booked a triple room. The hotel was almost empty but we were still only given a room that looked out on tired buildings and allies, despite the hotels great location. The 3rd bed hadn't been made yet when we arrived and there were only 2 towels, 2 cups, 2 water bottles etc. The shower sprayed every which way. Pancakes at breakfast costed an extra €7 on top, and the cappuccino i ordered to go with breakfast never arrived. The gym is dated. The pool only open from June onwards.
