The individual cottages were well spaced amongst their own piece of plantation/forest. Privacy and quiet was excellent. The restaurant and bar were atmospheric. The restaurant served very good meals. Staff were helpful. Hosts were always present and accessible (they lived on the hotel grounds and used the same eating and drinking facilities as the guests). The grounds of the hotel were authentic and provided for short hikes with views of the pitons and had many different fruit trees and cocoa trees Location was good for reaching the pitons and Tet Paul hike and some beaches.

Nothing that was not expected. Staff were sometimes a little too relaxed.

We absolutely loved our stay at Fond Doux. The staff and food were incredible. Our cottage was spacious and located in the middle of the rainforest. What an experience for the kids! We made our own chocolate and saw fire flies in the evening. Fond Doux is well located just a few minutes outside Soufriere, the mud volcano and very close to Sugar Beach (Sugar Beach is one of the best places to snorkel in St Lucia). A great base to explore the south of St Lucia. A special mention to everyone working there! They were incredible and always went out of their way to make our stay extra special.

The location of this resort is very unique and exceptional: it is immersed in St Lucia tropical forest with a dominance of fruit trees (cacao, mangos, bananas). The architecture of the resort is authentic with a colonial style. Staff is super nice, friendly and professional. Meals, starting from the included breakfast buffet, are abundant and super good.

Our cottage had few things requiring attention (faucet, bed net of one of the beds) and others being outdated (cooking fires, oven). Similarly, certain facilities in the resort are a bit "unrefined", like the gym or the pools. In some way though this reflects the soul of this resort, of the owner and the local culture. If you appreciate this aspect, like we did, you will be awed by this resort. If you expect a resort with everything impeccable, this might not be the experience you are looking for.

Everything is lovely but to be even better there needs to be continual maintenance on pathways, cottages, swimming pool etc., to ensure that everything is totally up to scratch (to get a 10) - in places some things seemed worn (furniture, pathways etc) Also, without a car guests can feel trapped as it’s expensive and far to get out to anywhere other than Sugar Beach via the shuttle beach. The hotel should consider an all day snack/light bites availability at the bar for example, serving sandwiches, fries, chicken wings, salads etc all day, as the evening dinner menu can get expensive after a while

Wonderful nature! Quiet, yet with amazing sounds of nature. Lovley helpful staff. The chocolate tour is fun and their chocolate tastes divine, better than Hotel Chocolate. Spacious 2 bed cottage with good kitchen. Great restaurant and cocktails. Maintenance was very responsive to help us with stuck doors and windows.

Breakfast starts at 7.30 and was late almost every day. Even though we requested a breakfast bag the day before our excursion (which was at 8 am), it was not ready so we had to wait. It would've been a nice gesture if the hotel did something for our anniversary since we mentioned it on the check in form. Not sure what the point was filling it in the form then. Windows and doors need TLC and we had issues opening them, some could not be opened nor closed properly. Showerheads in bathrooms are old and leaky, be prepared to have water everywhere!

Our cottage, one of the Hilltop cottages, was lovely with a wonderful view over the property - it was like being in a tree house! We loved listening to all the frogs in the evening and watching the humming birds feeding at the African Tulip tree in the day time. There were a number of steps going up to these cottages so they would not be suitable for those with mobility issues. However, there are other cottages on the property that do not have steps. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially in reception. The property is large and very lush, and lovely to walk around, and the pool area was very attractive. Breakfasts were very good, but the dinners were average.

lovely intimate property that really makes you feel like you’re living in a magical tropical jungle. absolutely loved the staff! everyone treated us like a friend and were happy to share info about St Lucian culture. we appreciated the on-site trail with a great view of the pitons, free beach shuttle, and the gorgeous nature walks where you can see the different fruits and other vegetation growing on the property. it was cool to see a lot of it then show up in the breakfast buffet!

not much! service is a bit slow and the omelette station was ok - eggs could’ve been fluffier but we overall appreciated the local food served. it was great to try to the curried goat and bakes (fried bread).

The hotel is located in the rainforest and is made up of 17 cottages. It's beautiful and the rooms are very spacious. We loved our outdoor shower, plunge pool, the staff, the little hike on the property to see the piton at sunset. Location of the hotel couldn't be better - it's close to so many hikes in the area, to beaches, and to other restaurants. Highly highly recommend Fond Doux for the comfort and location - anything remotely similar in the area is 10x the price (e.g. sugarbeach).

There are a lot of roosters on the property. They provide ear plugs which is great, but if you're very sensitive to sound, that's something to consider. The breakfast was average overall - some days were good and other days not so much.

Our trip was obviously during the time of COVID restrictions so there were limitations. We were only able to eat at a few surrounding restaurants. There still was daily shuttle transport to a nearby beach at the base of Petit Piton. Sugar beach was closed to guests unless you were staying at their resort. The food at Fond Doux was so amazing we were happy eating there 3x a day. Breakfast is included. Like anywhere on the island, it can take 1 hr for breakfast. The staff at Fond Doux was absolutely amazing. We were so happy with our drivers and servers at the restaurant. Having local grown fruit from the resort was great. Not to mention, they have an AMAZING hiking path that has splendid views of the Petit Piton. Only took us about 40 min to hike up and down (we move quick). So so happy with our stay. Very clean, peaceful, and pleasant. Will be back!!

Staff were incredible (Reception, thanks to Jenny I think her name was, who brought me some fresh Aloe in for my sunburn), the bar staff were very hard working, friendly and enjoyable to interact with. Breakfast was very good variety in the morning and sometimes mix things up. Enjoyed the on site chocolate making tour, exploring the Cocoa Plants on site and making your very own chocolate bar. The Restaurant on site was perfectly fine, but may get bored after 2+ dinners. Also has it's own hike to see the Piton's or you can go just around the Corner to do the Tet Paul - Both are equally as good.

Nothing! You are staying at an eco resort so need mosquito nets around the bed, can make things a little uncomfortable but it is what it is when you are staying at such an outdoorsy location
