Perfect location , goats and chickens can be seen as you drive in . Definitely feel like you have come to a country hotel. As you pull up it’s a perfect country setting , pretty , cosy . Lovely reception area and polite helpful staff on arrival .Warm and cosy clean . Lovely touch with board games and cards on the sofas by the fire , perfect after a day walking through the forest . So quiet and calm . Breakfast was lovely with lots of options and friendly polite staff. It was so relaxed like staying at a friends home for the weekend .The room was clean and beds were immaculate and comfortable.

Only thing is the pool area could be cleaner , the pool itself is lovely . warm and changing area clean . But some walls have stains and so noticeable when you first walk in and when swimming. If that was sorted it would be perfect .

Good, staff were friendly, hotel clean. Plenty of parking. Our children stayed in the room with us which is exactly how we like it and the room was plenty large enough for two additional beds. Grounds were ok, not the largest but lovely garden and could go for a short walk and sit in the garden with a drink. Shame we couldn’t get a slot in the restaurant the evening we stayed. But we found two restaurants nearby. The White Heart pub has a restaurant and was only a 13 minute walk and food was good and they were very conscious and considerate to allergy sufferers (nut allergy) and had a play area for children. Was nice to walk through a small part of the forest after the meal to return back. 2 convenience shops nearby.

Struggled with the tv. TV came up with Netflix but then the tv switched to tv guide with station listings. Tried for ages to find Netflix again and in the end gave up.

The room was on the top floor and incredibly spacious. We didn't originally book for breakfast, but added it on when we checked in - it was a good buffet selection of hot and cold food. The location is also great - a 10min drive from the main high street in Lyndhurst, but situated off the main road in a quiet area.

The bed and pillows were quite soft, so we didn't have the best nights sleep. The shower also ran cold and didn't seem to warm up. We did have a booking at the restaurant, but arrived too late as they stopped serving at 6.45pm.

The staff were wonderful, so generous, kind and helpful. The gentleman at the reception when we arrived was very kind and upon learning we were there to celebrate our 10th Wedding anniversary early from a very lovely and kind guest we were speaking to he gave us our first drinks on the house and a free bottle of wine to celebrate and a fan for our room as it was ludicrously hot that night. I wish we didn't have to cut our trip short due to my husband being ill from a migraine during the night but we'll definitely be back in the future!

The bed was uncomfortable and it was very hot in the room but that's not anything against anyone or the hotel.

The property was in a good location and the hotel was beautiful outside. The staff were very helpful. It was great to be able to take our dog with us.

The hotel was quite tired and could do with some redecoration in places. Although it said it was a dog friendly hotel you could not take your dog into the restaurant or leave them alone in the room so you’re only option was to eat in the lounge areas but it’s hard juggling cooked breakfast on your laps. If it’s a dog friendly hotel everyone should be made aware and dogs should be able to access all areas along with you. Pool excluded for obvious reasons! And on the understanding if your dog behaves badly you leave.

The building and grounds are beautiful. The building does need some TLC and a bit of an update. The reception staff are amazing and work so hard. We met Lulu on arrival she was very helpful and managed to move us the following morning as the mattress was so hard. Her colleague that evening was also great. Thank you 😊

For somewhere stating they were a 4 star hotel the food was disappointing. The first evening we ate in the restaurant and i had a steak it was cooked well but the meat was very dry. It came with one tomato and a great big tub of chips and that was it. It was like plenty of chips to fill the diner up !! Again breakfast was a bit of a muddled affair but ok. Im a bit fussy with things and the cutlery was cheap and nasty again not what I expected.

Visited with my mum for short break, surroundings were comfortable as was the room. The girls on check in were lovely with one lady in particular being very helpful with regards to information on the local market at lymington. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was excellent.

Unfortunately one gentleman on the hospitality side came across unfriendly, no smile, no sorry to keep you waiting etc, some customer service training may be useful. However, the great service we received from other staff compensated for this.

Room was comfortable and well serviced. Staff were lovely. We had a great dinner on the Saturday night and Monday morning plenty of breakfast. My daughter enjoyed the pool and in beautiful surroundings

Too many stairs, I have limited mobility and struggled with this and no lift up to rooms. There's an airlock in rhe hot water system somewhere which when used sounds like someone is drilling. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was not great.

We stayed while our bathroom was being refurbished. So did not really have time to use any of the facilities. Didn't use the restaurant. Our room was on offer and was described as a double room. The room was much bigger than we expected. The bed was more of a super kingsize.

The shower cubicle was quite small. I am a racing snake and still banged elbows.
