We loved seeing the framed pictures tell the story about how the community brought this place (back) to life. The room was very comfy, the breakfast was delicious and we loved the location. The location is perfect for stargazing - if you're lucky enough to get clear skies, unlike us - because it's on the corner of a road that just goes on and on through fields. Walk away a bit from the road and the houses and it's perfect for stargazing.
It would have been nice to get a heads-up from the staff to say we would be the only ones staying over that night. They have four rooms and appropriate signage asking guests to be quiet and considerate of other travellers. I inched up and down the creaky stairs when going out to smoke but then realized the next day I did it for no reason, as there wasn't anyone else staying overnight.

Our friends were getting married nearby so we stayed here the night before. The staff were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. It was actually during Storm Darragh and the staff blocked us rooms for the next night in case we had nowhere to stay due to local power cuts. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We had the best nights sleep with no traffic or noise. The full english breakfast was lovely in the morning with tea, coffee and juice. The night before we had a few drinks in the bar, played pool, darts and chilled out.

This place / Pub is truly lovely and so are their people. My friend and I were ever so pleased with the way we were welcomed and looked after. The rooms are renovated and beautifully furnished and very comfortabel. Nothing one would miss. The food in the Pub is very tasty and good and the breakfast is great also and so are the views you get for free. The Gun sits right in the country, the views are spectacular. I will certainly recommend "THE GUN" to my friends and family.

Exceptionally clean "like new" room. Beautiful location with stunning views from the dining room. Friendly & helpful staff. Great breakfast options & the server/cook was very accommodating & friendly. Good quality meals from the kitchen.
Noise from pub on Saturday night, noise from banging doors and general pub noise went on until 1:15am. Each time a door downstairs closed, the room shuddered. The Sunday night was no problem. Not suitable for mobility impaired, steep stairs to the rooms with no lift option.

The Gun is a community run pub with comfortable accommodation with a walk-in shower. It has great views across the Moors and is an ideal half way stopover to the Highlands of Scotland. The staff and locals are very welcoming with great real ales on offer. The pub has a small food menu, however the meals provided are very filling and tasty. Breakfast is huge and sets you up for the day! We will definitely return on our way back home.

The welcome and atmosphere is superb. The dining experience is lovely, as is the breakfast. The pub is cozy and everyone is friendly. Drinks very reasonably priced too. Lovely bed and no noise from the bar. Perfectly located for trips to Hadrains Wall, Newcastle and Edinburgh.
Can't think of anything negative to say.

Location and pub was stunning. Everyone very friendly excellent food. Rooms were clean tidy and comfortable perfect little find and would gladly stay again.
If I had to pick one fault and there is literally only one it can be a little noisy on a nighttime we had a very long journey and wanted an early night (we stayed above the pub itself) but I guess this is to be expected. Everything else was perfect.

Pub with accommodation. Situated in Northumberland National Park with a stunning view, a great place to explore the National Park from. Everything is just a short drive away. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food was good with vegetarian options available, too. Enjoyed my time there and would definitely come back :)
