The host is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious every morning and provided a great variety of options, even for people with intolerances or allergies. It was absolutely lovely to eat breakfast on the terrace, the area where the hotel is located is so quiet and chill. The room was cozy and clean. Another great plus is that the hotel is close to the airport (we decided to walk to the hotel to see more) but the hotel is located very close to a bus station so easy access for those who prefer transport. I absolutely loved watching the planes getting ready for landing every morning (made it kind of my routine during our stay there).

First time trying this newer property as an overnight before flying out from Zurich. I was very satisfied with the property. I was a single female traveling by public transportation arriving after dark. The bus stop (Glattbrugg, Post) was an easy three block walk from the Glattbrugg train station with the Glattbrugg Riethofstrasse stop just a 2 minute ride. Backtrack just a bit to Riethofstrasse and the Gate Hotel is an easy two block walk. While wary, I felt perfectly safe the entire time. I was greeted warmly and my room was as I expected. It was a bit larger for a single room. Wifi was great and there were ample outlets for charging devices. The bed was comfortable. Property pictures are accurate. Breakfast was simple but adequate. The airport was an easy 8 minute ride from the Riethofstrasse bus stop.

Not a true complaint, but a suggestion. The bathroom (with very nice shower) is separated from the sleeping area by a glass wall/sliding door. There is no lighting in the actual bath area, only the ambient light from the room. Lighting around the mirror area would be an improvement, though there is a large mirror in the sleeping area that is well lit.

The hotel is somewhat surprising with its lack of organization from the start, though the staff is quite friendly, even if they seem a bit unprofessional. Everything I requested was eventually handled, so there are no major complaints. The place is unexpectedly nice, located very close to the airport. It's more of an apartment-style hotel, well-finished inside and comfortable. Entering it feels like stepping into a well-organized and nicely finished home. Similarly, the room surprises with its size, a large balcony, and well-organized furnishings, including an interesting bathroom. Despite its proximity to the airport, it's relatively quiet, though you can hear the departing planes. I assume the local residents are used to it, so it didn't bother me too.

There is some difficulty with parking spot. The reception isn’t ideal, and there’s no option to have any meals at the hotel in the evening. While I did see someone eating in the restaurant, I’m not sure if that’s a regular offer. Given the appearance of the place, I expected a bit more.

This hotel is fantastic! I was looking for a place to have a rest day during our long vacation and this turned out to be the nicest place we stayed. It was clean, spacious, and they had good fans for the rooms. The included breakfast was the best we had, offering eggs and bacon in addition to the excellent continental items. It is close to the airport but I didn't find airplane noise to be a problem because planes seldom went by and the windows kept out sound well. There are 3 excellent supermarkets and some decent restarurants within a 5-10 minute walk. The staff were very nice and helpful. I 100% recommend The Gate Hotel!

We liked that it was only 5mins from the airport. About 300m from the hotel was the convenient tram that ran into the CBD. So easy. The staff were wonderful and assisted with any enquiries. The bed & pillow were so comfy and the room was spotless. Great bathroom too.

Unfortunately being the the airport was so close we were in the flight path and therefore when the planes went over it was VERY noisy. It was like you could've reached up and touched the plane, that's how close they were. The planes started at 6.30am and last one was around 11.30pm. Saying that, I would stay there again

Being a very small hotel with a limited number of rooms, this hotel provides spacious modern decor bedroom with a balcony , clean restrooms and minimal breakfast offerings to satisfy basic needs. Travelers may need to make some plans due to the distance from the airport especially if you are arriving late as they dont have 24hrs reception.

No reception staff after 11pm for check in procedures. Our flight was 2 hours delayed but somehow we managed to reach there by 10.45pm. Otherwise it would have been very difficult for me as I was traveling with my 6 year old child. Being an airport hotel, they need to have at least a 24hrs reception service.

Great breakfast. The location is convenient as it is not even 5 mins away from the airport, and getting to the city centre was very easy as well. Room spacious enough and very comfortable, and same applies to the bed. Staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful - they made sure I was feeling very comfortable.

It was little confusing to adjust room temperature, that got clarified.

Breakfast was very good

We stayed in the Penthouse and my biggest issue would be to have - more understandable light switches and lamps by the bed - The switches that controlled the lights in the bedroom, the closet and the bathroom was the same switch and it was unclear how to control each individually - in addition the same switch controlled the louvers of the bedroom - weird. It would have been nice just to have one lamp on either side of the bed in the main room with a simple method to turn on and off. We really enjoyed the outdoor balcony especially when the planes weren't taking off.

Hotel was quite near to airport (~30min walk, few minutes and 13-20 euros with Uber or taxi). Convenient to spend a night before connecting flight on next day. Room was clean and modern. Toiletries in the bathroom were handy since we travelled with only handlugage. The breakfast selection was not large, but it was enough to fill our stomach. Staff was friendly.

Since it's close to airport you should take into account that it's a bit noisy. TV didn't work. Kids didn't like the breakfast selection.

Cleanliness, Spacious Bathroom, Riza (staff in the evening shift) was very kind, friendly & helpful. Location is a fine and closer to the tram station, but still distant from train station. Breakfast options were OK.

It was very warm in Switzerland (in Aug) and there was only a single fan in the room. There was No AC in the room. One of the staff in the morning shift was rude & even opened the door to inform us on the check-out, after knocking twice. We were about to open the door, but he unlocked it which was totally unacceptable. We had informed him in advance about the check-out time, yet he barged-in. Breakfast options could improve for better - it was same for both days.
