Nice location along the Rhine. Easy to walk along the river although wished we could have stayed longer to explore more.

Only issue we had was the train track directly behind the hotel. From our room you could feel and hear the trains when they passed.

the check in with a arrogant staff member. The way to find this hotel for the first time is very complicated mainly because they give the wrong adres. When you want to arrive a bit earlier you pay 10 euro per hour more while the hotel is almost empty??When you want to go to the sauna in the extra hours you paid you pay extra for the sauna as well. It seems that paper is expensive because the staff gives me the adres I HAD to use to find them. This adres is right now not on Booking.com

good size room. location is great, staff well trained and polite efficient. rooms overlook the river and from the river one can go across to Koblenz by ferry. parking is what we needed.. the place is next to a train track - but didnt affect us - it was fairly quiet. we had great sleep. one can walk easily to Lidl from the carpark underground path - just 8 min away .

no coffee making facility ie kettle. no safe in the room. rooms was not on level ground .. there was a few steps to get yr luggage across. other itwas great

We had a great view of the river from our room, the air conditioning was so pleasant, specially when it was about 33 degrees outside. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Everyone spoke English. The location was perfect for us, close to the fortress where we went on a concert. Parking lots were right next to the hotel. They have a swimming pool that is always nice. And the breakfast was delicious much to choose from. They also have a coffee bar. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the river, it was lovely. This hotel has everything we wanted. We will stay here again.

We don’t like the window in to the bathroom but there was a possibility to blindfold it. And we are not a fan of carpets on the floor.

We had an excellent 5 nights at Diehls. Staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout. Our balcony room was spacious and very comfortable. Very good buffet breakfast. Although it’s on the opposite side of the Rhein from the main town, ask the staff about the ferry, local trains and buses. Once you know, it’s easy to get to main locations. We enjoyed dinner on two nights although the menu is a bit limited.

The dining room menu didn’t quite live up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. It was ok but limited choice,especially if you didn’t want meat. To be honest, the menu lacks any imagination. We ate in 2 nights out of 5 which was enough. Service varied depending on who was on and if anyone was in charge.

Hotel was nice and the room was cosy. The breakfast was good. The restaurant has a beautiful view and also the dinner was very good and the waiter very polite. It was very cosy to park in front of the hotel.

It was very difficult to find the room; stepps and corridors and changing the elevators - very confusing. The restaurant was nice but in the middle of the dinner a mouse was running accross the dinning room. The staff at the receptin desk was not very surprised when I told them what had happened. The room was with a partial view to the river but the window was in the corner looking to a neighbouring room. Funny and loud neighbours. The hotel is only a few meters from the railway tracks so when heavy trains pass it is noisy and shaky.

Great location down to the water. Normally there was a small boat to the city centre but it wasnt working while we were there. But the hotel is still close and in a walkable distance to city centre. Great view, and very very sweet and professional staff. Both at check in and at breakfast. Great breakfast with plenty to choose from. Nice beds and big bathroom.

The train was very close to the hotel and we heard it in the evening before dinner. But when we got back late evening we didnt notice it. We slept fine and didnt wake up because of the train. There were earplugs in the bathroom, but we didnt have to use them. Also, we checked before arrival, and paid via booking.com, and we still had to fill out, something that felt like 100pages and passport nr. Ect. Was very annoying. But friendly staff..

I fail to understand how this room was so cheap, a great hotel overlooking the Rheine with an excellent restaurant excellent breakfast and free parking which these days at lots of hotels seems to be a way to recover the loss of money during covid. Excellent staff. We paid £103 for two adults with breakfast and then promptly sept £150 plus in the restaurant that evening and it was worth every penny.

I haven't had a chance to try the indoor pool yet but that is my fault for forgetting to pack by swimming trunks, but there is always next time!

We stayed just 2 nights at this hotel. It was lovely. We arrived hours too early, but the reception staff offered to look after our gear whilst we went off to explore (we arrived on the motorbike in 36 degree heat!). Great free parking in the underground carpark for the motorbike with lots of space so we could tuck out of the way, and secure too - we chained up to the railings. The reception explained how the little ferry worked - you have to go on that! The only boat I know that goes sideways, due to the strong current. We bought a cheap batch of 10 crossings and used nearly all. The food was good in the hotel, both evening and breakfast. There was lots of space in the bar area to sit inside or out. The room was clean and we loved the little window in the bathroom. Fab vue out over the river to the old city from our enormous window. Overall, a great hotel. It was once a grand place, but is still lovely.

Our room was big and comfy with a river view. Staff and service was excellent.

There was one issue with a waiter who seem to take a dislike to us. We could not get served with a drink in the evening so I approached the bar only to be told to, SIT DOWN!! The same thing happened on the second evening, real issue getting served, same waiter. On the third evening I thought I would approach him on route from the bar where he just totally blanked me. I decided to talk to a senior member of staff, couldn't have been more helpful, just like nearly all the staff. I was offered a free drink and an apology. Unfortunately the waiter approached me after and made hand jestures, I felt a bit intimidated so left and went to my room, we left the next day.
