The Clarendon - Fresnaye

Location is very good for both beaches and the city. The garden is so peaceful with two pools and a sunny aspect, well maintained and not too busy. Feels like you are in the country in the middle of the city. The staff make the place special, all are welcoming and friendly. In this area, the star of the show is named Gift, he fixed an early tricky little problem regarding the booking with great panache, and was ever present with his gentle banter which made it great fun to see him during our stay. Breakfast was great, and the view from the dining room over the gardens, city to sea was very tranquil. We look forward to staying in this lovely boutique hotel soon again.

The family room was large and had loads of cupboard space, the seperate interleading room for the boys was great, with a huge fatsak beanbag and exceptionally comfortable beds. Very clean and stylish decor. Huge main bed for adults, very comfortable. Breakfast was superb and the highlight was the afternoon tea with cake of the day. The kids especially loved the chocolate cake and Gift and his team gave exceptional service. Stunning outdoor solar lanterns during loadshedding at night were a plus. Very good location.

More inside parking would have been ideal, would have liked chairs and a table on the outside balcony instead of loungers, but that is merely personal preference and a desk to work at in the room. Gift and his team however did put a desk in for us when we asked...so well done! We loved our stay.

Loved the boutique hotel feel. Lovely pool and garden area and very modern/ stylish interiors. A special word has to go to Gift who went above and beyond to help us during our stay. We were last minute guests due to our flight being overbooked home. Even after we checked out, Gift set up everything we needed to ensure we could relax by the pool for the day, even giving us access to showers and lending a hair dryer so we were fresh for the airport! Thanks to the team!

The hotel is very nice, has a small boutique hotel feeling. Stuff is amazing, they all know who you are. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our room was located on the same floor as the lobby so we could hear people outside, which specifically was frustrating early in the morning. Would be great to have a door with better isolation. But it’s only that one room that has the issue

We stayed in the family suite, which was superb. The bedrooms were very comfortable and very large, and the bathroom was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious, and the service of all staff was first class. We'll definitely look to stay with you again if (when!) we return to Cape Town!

I suppose there could be slightly more room for car parking, but we got a space in the small onsite car park, so all good!

Excellent overall! I cannot compliment the boutique hotel enough, the staff were brilliant, food was lovely and room were immaculate

Our bathroom was dated and showed signs of wear and tear but I got the impression that bathrooms were being refitted over a course of time at this hotel although it always very clean

The friendliness of the staff from walking onto the property was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious, spotless and so comfortable. The food at breakfast and round the pool was tasty and always had that home cooked feel. The gardens and pools were immaculate!! Overall, a fantastic experience and would well recommend!!! 5 star treatment!!!

Beautiful boutique hotel in great location. Super friendly staff, great breakfast, great family room - two separate rooms with very big bathroom( no. 25 ) with direct exit to the garden, there are 2 pools. Beautiful modern paintings, nice furniture. Highly recommended.

Service was excellent from every member of the team. We were made to feel very special and staff was responsive to all requests. Accommodation and breakfast were excellent.

A few minor maintenance issues - bathroom door did not close properly, balcony had some worn floorboards, ants were a problem a few times, but no major issues.

The property itself is absolutely beautiful. I had stayed in Camps Bay for two weeks and then moved to The Clarendon where the serene and calm environment was just what I needed. There are two pools with lounge chairs, cabanas, and towels provided. The room was also beautiful and felt brand new. It was large, spacious, comfortable, and turn down service every night. The breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious every morning. I also had lunch at the hotel all three days and I can highly recommend the chicken salad :). The best part of my stay was the staff. Every single member was beyond helpful and genuinely nice, ensuring I was having a great stay. The 24 hour security made me feel safe as well. I cannot recommend this stay enough and will definitely stay on my return to Cape Town.
