The staff are the highlight of the hotel. Very friendly, attentive and welcome you with a smile everytime. The room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels. Nice breakfast room with a good selection of breakfast foods. They make eggs to order at your request. The hotel is perfectly located to the nearby attractions and shops. You have a small gym on the ground floor. There is a restaurant on site that closes at 23:00PM
Although there is a gym, it was small with not much selection of equipment. Your hotel room doesn't have a fridge, that has to be requested in advance or once you arrive. Not sure if it's just me, but I can't remember ever staying in a hotel that doesn't offer complimentary bottled water in your hotel room.but honestly these are small details for the price I paid and the positives of the hotel. Just want to give an honest review

The location of the hotel is right opposite Mandela Square, the hotel staff were very responsive and the general ambience and feel of the hotel was awesome.
No much but I would have liked a fridge in my room. I had bought some perishable items and a fridge would have been useful in that regard.

The location is good for access to Nelson Mandela Square. We particularly liked the on-site restaurant Riffs, we liked the food and atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. The small garden around the pool was a nice place to relax. Breakfast was good and although busy staff were efficient and helpful.
Everything was fine.

Garden Court's strongest asset is its location - cross the street and you are in Mandela Square where you can find a multitude of restaurants and shops for all tastes. Moreover, its staff is very warm and welcoming. Breakfast offers a good choice of food which the hotel tries to vary. The Riffs restaurant inside the hotel offers a correct level of food
Coffee machines at breakfast produce the worst coffee i've been drinking in my whole life. Water bottle not available in the rooms ! this should be reviewed by management as water is essential for life ! The automatic vending machine in the reception lobby is not working properly - struggle with it for 25 mns to try and get water but in vain

The cleanliness and comfort were the best. The included breakfast was value for money and so generous that we wouldn't need to eat lunch!
On our first day, after we'd spent the night, we were coming into the lobby from a short errand across the road. One of the staff members blocked us at the door and asked us if we were booked there, and when we said yes, asked us what room no. Maybe it's company policy, but we felt targeted, and his approach was rude. Also, for some reason, housekeeping kept giving us toiletries for one person despite us being 2 female friends and the room having 2 beds. We alerted them the first day, which they rectified, but thereafter, they went back to giving us toiletries for 1.

Everything was good. Staff, location, breakfast was amazing, rooms were beautiful and clean. It exceeded my expectations. I was given the 7th floor room on the left building as you are approaching the counter. I liked the rooms. They were classic.
I have rated 5-Star because it deserves. BUT... if there is anything they should really consider is CHANGING THE PILLOWS to Hotel quality. Please! . The pillows are very hard and uncomfortable! I really could not sleep many nights! This was really disappointing. I tried to ask if they had softer pillows, but there was nothing. I really think they should change the pillows, cause it is not worth it, being rated less cause of the pillows only.

Breakfast is open early enough to allow one to get on with other business of the day. The buffet allows one a variety of options which I found pleasant. And generally the food was quite palatable. The hotel was perfectly located within Sandton and it is literally a road crossing to Nelson Mandela Square which was quite convenient for us. The room was neat and comfortable and provided a bit of a nice view of the area. However, it had issues with 2 lights. The bathroom and mirror light. The bathroom light was fixed except the light by the mirror which was not a train smash as it was not a necessity.

My family and I stayed there for 4 days. The hotel is clean. 90% of the hotel reception staff are welcoming and friendly, they assisted us in every request. The one who received us was so educated and caring, as soon we check in and requested for more towels and soups they were quick to give. Very close to the Mandela square 5 min walk and felt safe. Lots of restaurants, hotels and mall around. The restaurant/room service is nice and the food tasty. The breakfast is great our kids loved it, although the eggs cooker isn’t that polite and treats people differently (notice on the days we went she treated certain costumers differently than others , and making faces like she is making a favor to some to be there).
The cleaners are not friendly at all, they don’t greet and don’t respond properly and you need to look for them to negotiate laundry and they don’t show care for our requests like they are part of a different company or something. We even preferred to leave without washing the dirty clothes because of their behavior, they need training. It would be great for the pool to have heater specially because of the weather change in Johannesburg. Safety to access the rooms/floors can be and should be improved specially because the bar/restaurant is opened to the public (we crossed with some groups with weird attitudes when leaving our room.

So, we had dinner with our clients on Thursday, 19 September. I ordered Sirloin well done, and they brought Sirloin rarely done. When the waitress came to collect the plates, she noted that I had not eaten the Sirloin as expected and asked me why. So, I explained to her and told her that I was very angry because that was not what I ordered. She went ahead to report to the Manager who came to meet me, and I told I was not going to pay for that plate. She apologized and said she delayed coming to me because she was investigating the case and not that the waitress placed the correct order, but the Chef messed me up. So, she agreed that I should not pay for that plate.
The bathroom cubicle glass rails moved out of place, and I could not push the door anti clockwise. I was in a hurry to take a bath as I was checking out that morning and rushing to the airport. I called several numbers until I got a lady who promised to send someone to fix that. I waited for 30 minutes plus, and I had to call my colleague to go the reception to report the matter. Fortunately, this time around a gentleman came and fixed it.

The breakfast staff were exceptional, kind and very professional. It was full when we arrived for breakfast but they all worked together to get us seated, clean our table and make us comfortable. The food was also nice and fresh 🥰
The short lady at reception when we checked in was very rude…I had to ask her questions about the check in process cos she didn’t explain much. I had to even back to inquire about parking cos she didn’t give us all the information…She even commented saying, “welcome to Sandton” when I asked her about parking and whether we need to pay. A simple explanation of the process would have been sufficient with directions on how to get there. She seemed bored to be there
