Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, close to all Nelson Mandela Square and Sandton City Mall.

Housekeeping is done during check-in time which meant that we waited a long time and was only allocated our room at 4pm.

The breakfast was beyond expectations. It was refreshing to have a huge selection of vegetarian options. I particularly liked that the pork was away from the rest of the other food. Every station from the coffee station , to the yoghurt station was neat and clean. It was very appealing to fetch food and enjoy the ambience. Well done. Keep up th excellent work.

Staff could have been quieter. There is no need to talk loudly or shout across the room. I am nit picking here. It wasn't really an issue. The house keeper who came to make up the room in the morning asked for help to dress the bed and i wondered if this was a normality. I didn't mind. A pleasant woman by the name of Bongiwe.

Breakfast was outstanding - so many options to choose from! Location is excellent and the shuttle bus service helps with getting around. Room was beautiful, bed was ultra comfortable! TV nice. Bathroom nice! Appreciated it was quiet so we were able to sleep well.

When calling to request a wake-up call, no one answered either night we were there. We notified the front desk who said they'd look into it and they'd make the wake-up call....wake-up call never happened. In our room, the little coffee condiment holder had icky crumbs and stuff in the bottom of it. I turned it so the maid could see it but it wasn't cleaned - just turned back around. Carpets weren't cleaned very well around the perimeter of the room.

Everything was exceptional the staff were friendly and professional at all times The room was spacious and comfortable Housekeeping kept it spotless Breakfast buffet was excellent fresh baked beans curried sweet potato All was absolutely delicious . . Again the friendlies of the staff during busy times was a credit to the Southern Suin company Can only praise the establishment Excellent value for money

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Southern Sun Sandton, and I would like to share my feedback regarding the experience. First and foremost, I must commend the hotel's excellent location. Its proximity to key attractions and convenient access to transportation made my stay exceptionally convenient. It greatly enhanced my overall experience in Sandton. Additionally, I was quite impressed with the breakfast buffet offered at the hotel. The variety and quality of the breakfast options were truly commendable. It provided a delicious start to each day of my stay, and I found it to be one of the highlights of my visit. Overall, my stay at the Southern Sun Sandton was a positive and enjoyable experience, thanks in large part to its excellent location and the quality of the breakfast buffet. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others visiting the area.

ALL the housekeeping and restaurant staff were super friendly, polite, professional and helpful. The breakfast, which was included in my room price, was more than adequate with enough choices for everyone and the food was fresh and tasty. Having a barista onsite in the breakfast room to serve proper coffee was also a bonus. The location is excellent and so is the regular shuttle bus to and from Sandton City - for those in need of the service.

The hotel was not able to offer my wife and me firm/isotonic pillows which was problematic for our neck issues.

Nothing worth mentioning

Location of the property was had to find. Even the GPS directed us to the right instead of left. Difficult to find. The reception at the gate from the gentlemen that was there wasn’t welcoming. We were told to park at the basement and find our way in. No help. No potter. Nothing. The guy at the reception was not welcoming as well. He was kinda tired with our clarity seeking questions. The beds were small as we thought we would get 2 double beds instead we got 3/4 beds. I would like to say “Thank you” to the following staff: Alfred Neo Phindile Mfanelo Michael- he was good and very helpful. Henry - he assisted us when we checked out.

We love the location as well as the Hotel. The food is just amazing and the kitchen staff is always friendly and helpful The ladies working in the rooms are pieces of gold, they always make sure that you are well looked after and that you are comfortable at all times. When booking a room across the office buildings, the generator can hardly be heard.

I would suggest that visitors do not use alcohol around the swimming pool area, as some guests drink so much that they just throw their glass bottles on the floor (cracked or broken), cigarette stumps are burning the artificial grass as well as the poor cleaners are scolded at by guests for no reason, because they are drunk. There are children in the same area that needs to witness this terrible behavior.
