Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, close to all Nelson Mandela Square and Sandton City Mall.

Housekeeping is done during check-in time which meant that we waited a long time and was only allocated our room at 4pm.

The breakfast was beyond expectations. It was refreshing to have a huge selection of vegetarian options. I particularly liked that the pork was away from the rest of the other food. Every station from the coffee station , to the yoghurt station was neat and clean. It was very appealing to fetch food and enjoy the ambience. Well done. Keep up th excellent work.

Staff could have been quieter. There is no need to talk loudly or shout across the room. I am nit picking here. It wasn't really an issue. The house keeper who came to make up the room in the morning asked for help to dress the bed and i wondered if this was a normality. I didn't mind. A pleasant woman by the name of Bongiwe.

Its proximity to key attractions and convenient access to transportation made my stay exceptionally convenient. It greatly enhanced my overall experience in Sandton. Additionally, I was quite impressed with the breakfast buffet offered at the hotel. The variety and quality of the breakfast options were truly commendable. It provided a delicious start to each day of my stay, and I found it to be one of the highlights of my visit. Overall, my stay at the Southern Sun Sandton was a positive and enjoyable experience, thanks in large part to its excellent location and the quality of the breakfast buffet. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others visiting the area.

Additionally, they provide a shuttle service to the mall every hour, which is incredibly convenient for guests. What makes this hotel even more outstanding is their team of shuttle drivers, who are not only efficient but also very courteous. The professionalism of the hotel porters is equally commendable. The entire reception team is not only friendly but also highly professional, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests. When it comes to the rooms, you can expect impeccable cleanliness, and the beds are incredibly comfortable, promising a restful stay. The room supervisor's attention to detail is worth noting, as they personally cross-check each room after cleaning to ensure everything is in perfect order. Nothing worth mentioning

Location of the property was had to find. Even the GPS directed us to the right instead of left. Difficult to find. The reception at the gate from the gentlemen that was there wasn’t welcoming. We were told to park at the basement and find our way in. No help. No potter. Nothing. The guy at the reception was not welcoming as well. He was kinda tired with our clarity seeking questions. The beds were small as we thought we would get 2 double beds instead we got 3/4 beds. I would like to say “Thank you” to the following staff: Alfred Neo Phindile Mfanelo Michael- he was good and very helpful. Henry - he assisted us when we checked out.

We love the location as well as the Hotel. The food is just amazing and the kitchen staff is always friendly and helpful The ladies working in the rooms are pieces of gold, they always make sure that you are well looked after and that you are comfortable at all times. When booking a room across the office buildings, the generator can hardly be heard.

I would suggest that visitors do not use alcohol around the swimming pool area, as some guests drink so much that they just throw their glass bottles on the floor (cracked or broken), cigarette stumps are burning the artificial grass as well as the poor cleaners are scolded at by guests for no reason, because they are drunk. There are children in the same area that needs to witness this terrible behavior.

Frankly speaking the lobby and the atmosphere looked better than the pics and to us seemed even a little luxurious with all the welcome drinks and snacks. The pool and gym was quite nice but the view was amazing. The room was also tidy and clean and the staff were so helpful guiding. The breakfast was wonderful and variety of foods and drinks were available.

We couldn't use the shuttle bus provided or maybe we were not informed correctly how it works. Other than that I cannot recall any other negative point.

Mostly everything. Location, cleanliness, the light skinned chef who made my omellete. The gentlement dealing with vehicles outside and the luggage storage, the shuttle drivers… were all wonderful

The wifi wasnt working in my room. I was told an IT person who come to help but noboby came. Tuesday morning every table has someone on but most tables had free seats. The lady at the entrace to the dinning told us we cant join people on the tables unless we know them. Meaning we have ro keep waiting until there are free table yet everyone has a meeting to get to ans traffic to deal with. I found that instruction strange.

Breakfast provided the best variety. Coffee station was my favourite and the fitness area. A room drop for my wife's birthday, did wonders for me, thank you to Dingane who made it possible! I dealt with Ndumiso at reservation to finalise my booking he was exceptional.

However it was a busy morning time where things were just running out (croissant had to be replenished at the bread section. No cutlery/napkins at the table that I was allocated, breakfast service staff not friend at all.
