No hotel back up for load shedding and water supply. Our rooms had no sea view Hotel has no family room option or connecting rooms Pool and pool surrounding area did not look clean or inviting

The Amanzi Boutique Hotel is superbly located on leisure island looking across the lagoon toward Knysna Heads. Our room had an amazing balcony where we could relax, sunbathe and enjoy that view. The staff (and there seemed to be quite a few of them) all went out of their way to ensure that every request we made was attended to and we wanted for nothing. Advice on restaurants etc was very good; the restaurant shuttle ride (200 Rand, return) was very comfortable and prompt.

Because there was renovation works going on during our visit, we were unable to use the dining room which did make breakfast service a little disjointed but the staff worked hard to ensure we were as well catered for as could be.

Beautful lodge in a quiet location with great views of the lagoon and the two mountains ( east and west heads).. very hospitable staff who treat you like a family member..spacious comfortable rooms featuring air conditioning and most important amenities.. .good breakfast with reasonabke variety of cold and hot items included..there is an electricity generator for times of load shedding..we used the bikes for one morning tour which were provided for free

The TV in my room and my children room had no signal at all times..I did not complain about it as we did not have much time to spend watching TV..There is no iron available at the lodge which is unusual for a 4* rating..my daughter spotted a cocroach.

View, location. Staff were amazing couldn’t have been more helpful. The location of the property could not be better overlooking the lagoon, lots to see locally. I would recommend this property. Food was good.

The property could benefit from a little upgrading, some areas needed redecorating / new carpets but nothing was really bad. It is just showing signs of being well used. This however didn’t detract from our stay.

The staff at Amanzi are exceptional. From the welcome greeting to being shown our room the staff were friendly and polite. No request was too much trouble and all was attended to with a willingness to help and a smile. The room was lovely and the bed and bedding super comfortable. Charlotte Rhys toiletries in the bathroom are a lovely touch. I would definitely recommend a sea-facing room in order to enjoy the beautiful views of the lagoon. We were only there for one night and tired from travelling so requested supper. It was delicious and we can recommend eating in!

We had absolutely no complaints.

We were stunned by the beautiful views directly opposite the hotel. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the professional staff and helped into our room very swiftly. Our room was neat and comfortable, i cannot complain about that. The beautiful garden that surrounded our bedroom was the perfect place to braai while my kid played in the garden.

As muslim travelers, our dietary guidelines are Halal and Halal meat only. The menu for breakfast as well as dinner was very limited and found only 2 things that could possibly cater for Halal. We ended up just eating from the yogurt and fruit buffet for breakfast. We hope that in the future there will be a wider variety of meats, including ones with Halal certification.

View amazing, I loved my beautifully decorated room and all our meals were great, Promise, Fortune and all your team so friendly and helpful. Honestly, Amanzi is my home away from home! Reception always open and ready to assist also!

My only suggestion would be to have a small rechargeable lamp available in each room as sometimes the power cut bulb enabled normal lights by the bed did not function during power cuts. Solar power a good back up like we have here in Zim and quieter generators seem to be more prevalent these days also, possibly an option also.

Nice breakfast with everything anyone would want to have. Thy also catered for one in our party who requires Gluten Free. The view from the property is very nice. Neat and Tidy property. The staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful. The Chef even cooked a fish for us which was very nicely done that we had caught on our fishing trip.

The property was not prepared for load shedding and unable to have the power on. This is not good enough in hospitality and they need to make arrangements and invest to cover load shedding. Excuses that it is a country exposed issue is not good enough. If your competitors can cater for load shedding they need to be able to do so.

Breakfasts were great! The view from the room is amazing exceptional and quite possibly one of the loveliest I’ve ever experienced. The staff is incredible, professional, friendly and quick to help. The eating area is also great and very comfortable. Only issue I had was the wifi signal strength.

The only issue I had was the wifi signal strength. They could expand their menu more to offer a few vegan options and ask if one would like non dairy products in the room. An inverter system to keep the lights running during load shedding would also be a nice touch.

My wife and I recently completed a three night stay at Amanzi as part of a two week holiday from the UK. The room was a good size with lovely views and was kept very clean. We dined in the restaurant twice and the food was delicious. The breakfasts were excellent. We found all the staff to be helpful and friendly and would not hesitate to recommend Amanzi to anyone looking to stay in Knysna.
