The accommodation is gorgeous, such a beautiful location and gardens. Our suite was really private and we loved the style of the interior. Very friendly staff, who help you in every way possible. Very family friendly too, the play house with its own pool is really nice. The gym has a great view and has airconditioning. We ordered the picnic basket, which was really lovely and was full of fresh food. The massages were also great. Would definitely recommend, especially with all the services they offer and the different restaurants on the property. We were sad to leave and would go again.

Best hotel we have ever stayed in..so beautiful..everything you wish for and more. We came with our baby and everything was taking care of..it was an amazing stay. We will continue thinking about it until we will hopefully return. The staff was so so lovely, the different restaurants were great. The children’s area even has such a great and cosy ambiance. Surroundings of the hotel are also wonderful, beautiful garden. Not even to start about the rooms…so luxurious with such a beautiful bathroom and great beds..

Everything was amazing

A truly magical experience, pure unadulterated decadence and pleasure. We were greeted by an expanse of breathtaking, perfectly manicured gardens and then treated like royalty. Sparkling wine enhanced our euphoria as we flitted in and out many doorways in the main building, absorbing pure luxury in every breathtaking, elegant, beautifully decorated space Our cottage was indescribable. A roaring fire greeted us as we entered the cozy lounge, equipped with a generously filled hospitality tray and chilled bottle of wine; an ultra-luxurious bed adorned with cotton percale linen and then the pièce de resistance – the opulent bathroom. Every meal was a taste sensation, created and served with passion & pride. The warm and loving contribution of service by all staff is what really tipped the scales for us – outstanding! Hunters promise gracious elegance with sheer comfort and style - what we experienced far exceeded these expectations.

Cellphone charging plugs next to the bed would have been nice.

We really loved our stay in Hunters House. Rory (excuse the spelling) was super lovely and welcoming. Made us feel right at home. Our room was a standalone cottage in its own right and it was stunning. The rooms have so much character and personality with a sense of historic grandeur. The location is perfectly sited between Knysna and Plet so the perfect base to enjoy these two locations. Rory gives great food recommendations. The grounds for the hotel are impeccable and the onsite restaurants were great.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Breakfast was outstanding in choice and quality and was served in a beautiful light and sunny room. Staff were next level and made one feel like the only person staying at the lodge with their friendly, yet professional manner. The dinners at all of the restaurants was beautifully presented and of exceptional quality. A wide variety of facilities and services available to guests. Lovely walks on the property. Location was secluded enough to offer serenity and relaxation yet within close enough proximity to all the local attractions.

The stunning gardens .. the walk around the property .. the wild deer .. the outdoor gym area my husband loved . The ability to walk to the restaurants .the manageress at Zinzi called El deserves a mention and treated as us a stars .

Our bathroom shower was a tad dated but had a powerful shower . Our aircon machine broke down on a Sunday and though we were given a fan the problems hadn’t been fixed when we left 4 days later . The fridge made a constant buzz throughout the day and night .. however the over all hotel is fabulous !! They could also have made sure the fridges at the gym And yoga room were stocked with water bottles.

Incredible resort. Not far from Plettenberg Bay we found ourselves immersed in a world away from the city. A parenthesis of serenity and peace. Welcomed very well by the super friendly and knowledgeable staff, we felt pampered and loved right from the start. Very spacious and cozy room with everything you need to relax. Upon arrival a good bottle of white wine to welcome us as well as a handwritten letter from the staff. In the evening while you are at dinner they come by to rearrange your bed, leave a treat and a hot water boulle to warm your feet with. As well as the classic good night note. We tried two of the three restaurants definitely good and with several focused choices. Interesting wine list with many South African choices of course. Breakfast buffet and a la carte. The rooms smelled a bit musty. Definitely the rains at the time we stayed did not help.

Our little lodge was stunning, it was cosy and private. We were surrounded by the animals & wildlife. The on site restaurant (Zinzi’s) that we visited was lovely & conveniently located. Breakfast was in a beautiful conservatory in the main house and the quality of food was very good. At night during the time down service, hot water bottles were placed in our bed and the fire was lit, which was a lovely touch given how cold it got.

Unfortunately our room telephone didn’t work so when we arrived for example our cafeteria was cracked so we had to head to reception to ask for a replacement. The same for a few evenings when we returned for the evening and wanted the fire lighting, due to our room phone not working, we repeatedly had to walk to the main house in the rain to request the fire be lit etc. This is obviously such a first world problem and really isn’t the end of the world. We did mention it to the very helpful and lovely staff who said they would look into the issue with the phone in the room as apparently it was ringing for us but not their end.

The property and grounds are truly beautiful and very peaceful, a little haven away from the hustle and bustle. The staff are fantastic and made us feel very welcome.

We were a little disappointed that our room didn’t appear to be as what we had expected from the pictures on booking.com. We were expecting a stand a lone bath, so a little misleading. None the less, we had a brilliant stay.

The hotel is set within the most beautiful gardens, with paths winding through lawns to individual thatched villas. Throughout our 3-days at Hunters, we were treated like royalty and nothing was too much trouble. Our Villa (Kimassi No.3) was luxurious without being ostentatious, with antique wood furniture & the softest bed linen. We loved the special touch of returning to a crackling fire after dinner.
