Our best stay along the Garden Route. Amazing country lodge off the beaten track. Staff were beyond wonderful and kind. We were greeted with sparkling wine, given a tour of the beautiful lodge, fed sumptuously. Beautiful bar. Book their dinner in advance, it's worth it.

Nothing could have been done better, it was all great. But a recommendation to make sure you book their dinner. The lodge is out in the country and there aren't many choices for dinner nearby. But luckily their dinner is so amazing you won't want to go elsewhere.

Arriving at Lairds Lodge on a cold, chilly August day we were welcomed with such warmth from the moment we drove through the gates of this beautiful estate on the outskirts of Plettenberg on the gorgeous Garden Route- Warm greetings and warm smiles from charming staff and a warm open fire where we enjoyed a drink as we checked in. Initial impressions of exceptional service were spot on and continued throughout our delightful four night stay. Lairds Lodge is a truly beautiful guest house that delivers way beyond its four star rating. The amazing staff honestly can’t do enough for you; the food is in a class of its own- we had a 3 course dinner each evening meriting a Michelin star for taste and presentation- we ran out of superlatives describing the subtle, complementary flavours woven into each dish- simply divine and such good value; and the interior and exterior design are both exquisite and immaculately kept with a unique and elegant combination of traditional Dutch and modern style- Fabulous! If you are looking for somewhere really special to stay on the Garden Route, book it now- you won’t regret it; and, like us, you will never want to leave!

Having to leave!

This is a beautiful lodge, with beautiful staff and beautiful food. The first course for breakfast - you never know what delicious treat will be served there. Dinner is also in top notch class. The lodge and rooms are tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable.

There was virtually no wifi-signal in the room. And the big pot holes in the short strech of dirt road leading to the lodge could do with a fill up.

Lairds Lodge is a beautiful stylish property. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious and comfortable. We stayed two nights and had dinner both nights, it was that delicious! We really enjoyed going to the bar to have a drink before dinner after hiking in the Robberg nature reserve and exploring Plettenberg Bay. The breakfast was absolutely delicious as well! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at Lairds Lodge!

Nothing to complain about at all!

What a beautiful place, luxury accommodation and service, full of the little extras that make the experience so memorable. Location is beautiful, the lodge is full of beautiful furniture and things, a touch of class. Facilities are amazing. The Food was high quality, we especially enjoyed the dinner with local wine and champagne, a great, warm friendly experience, excellent value for money. The stay was full of little touches that made you feel very special, thank you. Hopefully we'll be back soon.

We didn't stay longer

We loved everything about Laird's Lodge. It's in a very quiet spot a few Kms from Plettenberg but you feel you are really in Africa. The staff are amazing & very welcoming & dinner was superb. Food , although limited choice , was of a very high standard. The accomodation was both luxurious & comfortable & our room ( room1) had a beautiful patio also. We also had laundry done returned on the same day.

Can't think of anything !

The food and service was exceptional and Lairds Lodge is located in a beautiful spot outside of Plett. I liked that it was a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of the beach town.

I rented a small car and found the dirt road difficult to navigate after heavy rains. But this is also part of the charm of being on a country estate. Next time I will bring my 4x4.

Just fabulous! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food was all delicious - highly recommend dinner on site. The swimming pools were lovely to cool off in after a day exploring the beautiful surroundings. The room was spacious and comfortable. It couldn’t have been a better stay.

Just be aware you need a car.

Beautiful property and wonderful staff, very accommodating and friendly. I enjoyed the meals; breakfast service was excellent and an experience in and of itself. A very tranquil and peaceful location.

No mini bar, although the property is in a remote area. The in-room glassware and crockery could be refreshed/washed more frequently and thoroughly.

Excellent customer service from the moment we arrived. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. So friendly, helpful and always happy. Beautiful room with outdoor seating area. Lovely grounds and two pools. Peaceful location and areas to sit in around the lodge. We were so pleased we could stay another night. And the best omelette for breakfast!! Thank you so much all.
