Ohtels Gran Hotel Almeria

We loved our room overlooking the pool & out to the sea. We were at the end of a corridor so it was good to have the quietness away from others. The cleaning team left the room immaculate on arrival & were very accommodating throughout our stay. We were happy to be able to leave luggage in a secure room while we waited to check in. The staff in the dining room/bar were excellent

Being made to wait at Reception when more than 1 customer is checking in with only 1 staff member attending. It's a long process to check in. The 'hot' food at the buffet breakfast is not hot - very disappointing.

After a bit of a palaver in the one-way system when the hotel parking was full, we pulled up outside and the very helpful young man on reception gave us directions to public parking we could use instead at the same rate as for the hotel's own car park. Lovely room - a tad old fashioned but extremely comfortable, with a good view over the front of the hotel to the port. Better views from higher floors but we couldn't be bothered to ask to move. Lovely barman served us delicious cocktails in a beautiful room, also used for breakfast. Pool is a bonus, and surprisingly quiet on the terrace given the busy location.

The hotel was a very good option for a one week holyday with my son. We specially liked: Breakfast, air conditioning (works perfect even without the card installed, very precised with the temperature) the cleanliness and the staff in general.

The beach is not so close, you should do a 5 minutes walk that can be long under the sun, specially when the temperature is 35 Celsius or more.

One of the best hotels I have been to and I have visited quite a lot. Very kind and helpful staff, they adjust the offer very personally. I was also gifted champagne for my birthday for which I would like to thank you very much, it was very nice. Breakfast very good and varied, large room with good air conditioning. Very nice cleaning ladies. I highly recommend, thank you and best regards.

There is a long waiting time for the elevator during breakfast, but it's really not a big deal.

The hotel was easy to find and we were able to park nearby, very easy checkin and the reception staff, were very helpful and friendly. Our room was a good size and we had great views from our room, over the port area and pool. The breakfast was tasty, with a good selection of hot and cold food to choose from. We will definitely stay again when in Almeria.

The hotel is a bit dated, but still comfortable.

It's an awesome hotel. We got a room with a balcony with a stunning sea view. The swimming pool is rather small but got plenty of sun. You can also enjoy some drinks from the bar by the pool. Location is almost by the beach. Other important places like the Alcazaba and bus/train station is also within walking distance. Unfortunately we had to skip the breakfast buffet to catch an early flight but the staff was being very accommodating by packing us a picnic box to take away.

The only down side I can think of is probably the elevator that can take quite long to catch, not a huge issue.

The hotel was close to the town with shops and bars and in the opposite direction was close to the beaches bars and restaurants.

The bar could have stayed opened a little later in the evening. But totally understand the staff have probably a very early start. This is by no means a criticism and I hope it doesn’t come across like that it’s only just a recommendation.

The hotel was spotless and very well maintained, we had an exceptional room which I suspect we got an upgrade as it wasn't busy and it was my wife's birthday The staff were excellent The view was great There was by chance a very loud concert just across the road in the park, it was a one off event very loud but if we closed our patio doors we couldn't hear it, so they worked well

The weather wasn't good so we decided to eat in the hotel that evening. The menu choice was poor, three items on the menu del noche and no other menu. Not only was the choice poor the main course was not nice. We've lived in Spain for four years and expect high standards from menu del día or noche and value for money. This was neither. However most people would have eaten out, and to be honest we normally would. That aside web loved this hotel and it was exceptional value for money

Enjoyed the sea view and the view towards The Alcazaba. The room was large with plenty of storage and a balcony, the beds were comfortable. The Lounge Bar was extremely luxurious and there is a pleasant pool area to relax, the Staff were very friendly too.

The rooms were in need of a freshen up and it was a little noisy at times due to the close proximity to the main coast road in front.

The service was absolutely phenomenal. I felt like a princess. They made me feel so welcome and there was always an a nice atmosphere throughout the entire hotel. The breakfast was exceptional every day.

The pool was closed for refurbishment which was a shame. The road is quite busy and noisy if you have your balcony doors open. But to be expected in a city location.
