Hotel Silken Indautxu

It was convenient to everything shops, restaurants and bars.

There were no negatives about the property. However Booking.com said we would have free taxi transfers to and from the airport. We got a really nice one to the hotel on arrival in Bilbao but at the end of our stay a week later we were not able to book one the night before our return to the airport for our flight home. When I tried to contact Booking.com the email they gave was incorrect. The taxi service we had used on arrival were unable to facilitate us so we had to pay over €30 to another firm. We were very annoyed.

We had a very nice room with terrace . Location of hotel perfect. Parking under the hotel so it was easy!

Hotel accepts pets but don't like them. The extra price 35eur/night is highest we have seen and hotel also has very strict rules with dogs. Not good!

It's a great hotel and the staff make the whole experience just great, everyone was very helpful, polite, and welcoming. We had a complex situation with changing the rooms and travelling with pet and they made this process very stress free. For those who are travelling with pet, 35 euros can sound a bit too much, but the hotel provides a proper dog bed, snacks and a bowl. We had a great room with a lovely terrace, and the dog felt comfortable. Totally recommend it. Thank you

It's something that I've noticed in most hotels that they stopped providing a body lotion. I know it's a minor thing and not important for everyone but I really wish there was one. Everything else was perfect!

The room was large with elegant and confortable furniture and a lot of storage space. The rooms are very quiet, I could not hear anything from my neighbours or the street. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The main tourist attractions could be visited by walking from the hotel, metro and tram were also near by.

The internet was a bit slow. This was not a problem except when I wanted to download my boarding pass on my phone. This failed until I started to walk around in the hotel.

A very nice Hotel if you're visiting Bilbao... located 10 min from Intermodal and 3 min from the near Metro station. The room was quite comfortable for our purpose, well kept/clean daily and with all that we usually need for a short stay. The Breakfast isn't top notch, but it's well catered and supplied for the typical European/American/Spanish breakfast. Ahh! Great staff!! Always keen to help and making the best to not miss anything. Last... good WiFi coverage and with quality.

It's clear that this Hotel has some impacts of time and some minor renovation should be made to enhance the rooms quality (eg. bathroom door suffers from the water and moisture, a/c noise is a bit loud if running mid/high speed).

BIG YES! We have traveled thru Northern Spain this summer and stayed at four different places so we have enough samples to compare accomodations. This Hotel was absolutely great for the following reasons: you will find fancy looking places, you will find hotels with great location, but it is hard to barely find hotel with soundproof rooms. Hotel Silken had it all, and we looked it the most out of four hotels in Spain. Great location, trendy hotel, soundproof rooms.

I am happy to share we found nothing we did not like. Readers may find it hard to believe it, yet it is true. If you are lucky enough to be able to book a room, just do it.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Such a wide choice of food. Tables were very quickly cleared, cleaned and ready for any waiting guests. Car park was underground but easily accessible from street with lift access from hotel reception. Location was good, with a 15 minute walk downhill to riverside and tramline. Hotel very clean and tidy with very helpful staff in reception.

On arrival, it isn’t obvious where you can park outside the hotel so you can check in and get the access details to underground car park. We circled the hotel a few times before a space was available outside. (May have been Google maps sat nav fault, as it was a bit slow on the day)

Very easy access by car. It was possible to park for (more than) 10 Minutes in front of the hotel in order to take the luggages, process the check-in and then bring the car in the hotel garage (20 EUR per 24h as at 04.08.2023). The online room description was conform to the reality especially regarding the shower or bath in the bathroom relevant for the grandma who is not able to use a bath. The breakfast was really nice, e.g. fried eggs are available, good tea bag offers. The staff is really nice and helpful. There is a small gym and there are some bicycles to rent.

The breakfast room was slightly too small given the number of persons coming and especially it hasn´t windows directly to the inside yard, but to a corridor. The gym is although it is a little bite small (surly understandable in the center of the town where the space for building is a little bite limited). The corridors to the rooms are looking a little bite old fashion and old. Some renovation work might be nice. The price as obviously other choices in Bilbao is relatively high. It would be nice to have e.g. free parking.

Great breakfast with some tasty items, good gym with technogym equipment (not not that big so requires, free, reservation). Location quite close everywhere and we haven't spent a single minute in the the public transport (apart from free taxi from airport, and not free taxi to airport). Good, quite cheap bar.

I found a cockroach in the shower in the morning, which was probably the only negative - I didn't mind it that much, but I can see some people would get annoyed. Kettle in the room would be useful, not just coffee machine.

Hotel situated apr. 1 km from turist zone, but easy to approach also with public transport. very good breakfast.

our room had windows to the internal courtyard(?) so it was quiet except for the buzzing sound of rooftop machinery (we had our room on the top floor). anyway this could be heard only with open windows, so I guess it can be handeled:) reception personell was a bit bored, i sent an email before arrival to ask about parking which was never anawered. parking in the garage is anyway an interesting issue- based on availability, cannot be reserved in advance, but still many places are blocked with a cordon…we never found out why.
