Occidental León Alfonso V

Hotel was located near the city center. The room decoration was nice. The bed was of a decent size and the shower had very good water preassure. Night porter staff was very friendly.

As the room was facing another building across the street there wasn't much privacy and we couldn't leave the curtains open. The bathroom was a bit small and the windows weren't very new so the soundproofing from the oustide traffic wasn't good (this should be improved). Internet connection wasn't great and didn't really work at times. The hotel parking was very narrow so had to find a meter parking spot in the street. Breakfast wasn't included in the room price. Overall the price/quality ratio was off.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Perfect to explore the city on foot. If travelling by car, the hotel is immediately on the left as you leave the roundabout. It’s easy to miss it, as it’s not well signposted. You can pull into the drop off spaces in front of the hotel. The underground car park is on the opposite side of the road, a little further up the road, just past the pharmacy. Beware it’s very narrow and wouldn’t suit a larger vehicle. I drive a Mercedes CLS and it was on the limit.

Written from the perspective of someone doing the Camino. This is a lovely high end hotel. It's does everything right as a high end hotel and it's just outside the historic center -- a stone's throw from everything. Staff went out of their way to check us in when we arrived and we arrived at 10am. Huge thank you for that. Beds comfortable and a really good shower and lovely room. Good breakfast.

Slow wifi. To get good wifi go downstairs. Not "special". It's a good, satisfying hotel. I wanted character too and a bit.more space either in the room or common areas. No common areas.

Location was perfect, in the centre of the city. Breakfast was so great. Huge selection and everything nice and fresh. The staff was very helpful. They were always around and looking after us. We asked for great view as we had some plan to do photography from the room and they put us to the 6 floor with beautiful view. We were happy with our view.

The room was a bit smaller than what I was expecting, also we requested a double bed but we got a twin bed which was disappointing a bit. The bed itself quite hard which wasn't up for our taste.

Location was perfect in the centre of the city,magnificent staircase in the reception area . Our room was lovely with a separate lounge and bay windows in the bedroom giving amazing views of the city. A well stocked mini bar and great views from the bedroom lounge area. Breakfast was really good with plenty of staff replenishing the hot and cold buffet and ensuring the dining room was kept spotlessly clean and tidy. Parking was easy just across the road. The staff are great in this hotel especially Christina on reception, she is extremely helpful and professional with great knowledge of the area and very conscientious ensuring you have the best service possible. We are back in Spain in 4 weeks and have done a de- tour to be able to stay at the hotel again and see the rest of the beautiful city of Leon. After spending the last five weeks in Spain and staying in many hotels we feel this to be in our top five!! We look forward to returning soon.

The location is great , the room was confortable, good space and calm, tasteful decoration . The balcony is a plus. It was very quiet.

There was no kettle or courtesy coffee/tea set in the room. For the category and price I would expect that. There was black mold in the bath wall, again that is something unexpected and not aligned with the rest of the facilities and category of the hotel.

Very convenient to old city of León- close to Casa Botines & Museum and the Cathedral. Air conditioning in rooms. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast buffet for 12 Euros.

One of the staff at reception did not seem to be welcoming (perhaps because, as peregrinos who were dirty and sweaty when we arrived, we did not fit the profile of typical hotel clientele.)

Greeted by a friendly receptionist, who had just checked in a group of 20 and she was still smiling 😊 Very helpful and was happy I had already checked in online - maybe that’s why I ended up with a suite?! 🤗 Which was wonderful, another treat on my Camino!

The location, the rooms and the decorations of the hotel

It didn’t have any free area to sit outside of the rooms , and also the wifi had many issues around the whole hotel 😅like for work or to talk.

A lovely luxurious hotel after a slog from Religious to Leon, the end of the walk into Leon is just a slog so very pleased to see the hotel. Very close to the central historical part and right on the Camino. Nice to have a bath to soak into. We did not eat there as there so many place in Town to try. The staff were really helpful and sorted out our luggage transfer even though it was not their preferred company.

Nothing just a lovely two night stay that gave us plenty of time to visit the church's and sights of Leon
