The view from the room is magnificent and the balcony is perfect for a relaxed breakfast The bed is very comfortable Moreover the property is 5 mins from the center

A bit noisy as it’s directly on the road, so at night it might be a bit hard to sleep knowing that the bed is very comfortable Ask about ur breakfast type especially the eggs as they do it the Siri Lankan way which u might not like it

- Cool cabin / chalet style room with lovely views of Ella! - 450m walk to Ella town - which is great if you wanted close proximity to restaurants etc. - The family who live on the property were extremely kind and helpful and gave some great tips for Ella. - Good space for parking.

- Signage for the property could be improved as we initially drove past it and couldn’t find it. - There is a 3.5% surcharge for paying by credit card (we was more than happy to pay this but just commenting as a warning to other travellers). - Lots of steps to get up to the room, which might problematic for older travellers, those with young children or dodgy knees.

So many reasons as to why we liked it here. The location is sooo good - literally a 5 min walk up the hill and youre in the centre of Ella town. The staff are the kindest people you will ever meet, helping carry our extra large suitcases up the steep steps, bringing wonderful breakfasts to our door, and always checking in with us to see if they could help. Even on one day, when a monkey stole my pancake from my breakfast, the staff brought up another one without me asking - it was super kind! Oh and the view is out of this world. So thankful to have stayed here. Thank you Country Homes!

The room was a great size, and had a particularly comfortable sofa, which is a rarity, but so appreciated in a hotel room- good to have a comfortable place to sit. The view is good - of Ella Rock, but with a little extra tree pruning, it could be a phenomenal view through Ella gap and including little Adam’s peak Breakfast is delivered to your room at whatever time you request

While the location is excellent in many ways, the walk to town is short but not pleasant as the road has no sidewalk space and is very busy with trucks, buses, motorbikes and tuk tuks so feels very treacherous- this is not something that Country Homes can control, but it is something to keep in mind

The service/hospitality was really good: we got offered a welcome drinks and they carried our bag for us and helped us get a tuk tuk on the day we left and had very helpful laundry service. The view from the room was just amazing, we could see lots of little birds, squirrels and monkeys. Breakfast is also served on the balcony and they always bring it perfectly at the asked for time.

The shower floor is very slippery and can be dangerous, so definitely something to be mindful of when stepping in. It did not bother us as we walked every nights to town, but the hotel is located 10 minutes away from the restaurants in Ella Town and the road does not have a footpath to walk on.

Great place to relax and recharge. The room was fantastic and exactly as shown in photos. We felt safe and the communication with the staff was speedy. The working boys helped us with our bags and settling in and were helpful with the breakfast and in showing us around. We met the owner when we signed out and she was kind.

It was not the easiest place to find. Blink and you'll miss the entrance. That is my only negative but it's not exactly something they can change easily. Ella is a small strip of businesses and so everything is tightly packed together. Just something to be aware of for travellers! And maybe a bigger sign is needed

The stay was only 400m away from the Ella town and it was very good for the price. Had a balcony with a nice view of the mountain range & Breakfast was more than we expected. Bed was comfy and timber paneled interior of the cabana gave a nice feeling.

Finding the location from the Google map was bit difficult and had to call the staff to get the direction.

This was the best accomodation we have stayed at in Sri Lanka. Rooms were so comfortable and spacious. The view was incredible! We could have happily spent all day there! Darshana was exceptional host, (the best again we have experienced in Sri Lanka). Nothing was an issue. When you arrive you have some steep steps to get to your rooms but then Darshana brings everything to your room via what’s app messages. Your fantastic breakfasts even get delivered to your rooms. Highly recommend this accomodation!

Nothing we didn’t like.

Country Homes Ella was just as fantastic as the reviews we had read. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and upon arrival we were upgraded to one of their newest rooms which was amazing - the bed was amazingly comfortable and the view was terrific! It's also an ideal location to explore Ella from - we were able to walk to town in less than 10 mins and being slightly away from the hustle of the main city street was really great. The breakfast here is fantastic and served on your balcony with one of the best views we had in Sri Lanka!

We arrived late so were stunned in the morning when we discovered the amazing view from our room and the ceiling high windows captivating all that is to behold. The bathroom was large and clean - which is quite a job with the location being surrounded by trees. It’s about 200m walking distance to town but still far enough to feel in the mountains. A bliss to stay two nights. Breakfast brought to the room - wow!

A fair warning - although the windows have a tight close, the door on the balcony has a gap so bugs can get in and want to get in in the evening when the room is lighted. But a towel is an easy fix. The room is still great and has an anti bug sound device.
