This is a low cost property with million $ views. It rained both nights we were there and the waterfall in the distance was wonderful each morning. When the fog rolled in pre rain it was another delight. The staff were very attentive and helped with great food recommendations and calling a tuk tuk to collect us (no one is walking into town, believe me). Great find.

We checked in, looked at the view and immediately extended our stay! The view is actually incredible, enjoying a cup of tea on the bed thats on the balcony while looking down over mountains & waterfall was heaven, could have stayed there forever! The staff are wonderful and they arranged a tuk tuk for a day trip to little adams peak, 9 arch bridge & ravana waterfall for a very reasonable price. We also booked a taxi from Ella to the south coast which again was a really good price compared to what we had been looking at. Breakfast is also fantastic! Would 100% recommend staying here while visiting Ella, it’s a little out of the town but very easy to get to and from about 5 mins in a tuk tuk (which should cost around 500 rupees) and the views are so worth being that little bit up the hill.

Super views through the Ella Gap. It's hard to imagine you can get better ones anywhere in Ella. The balcony is large with bean bag, double lounger and breakfast table with two chairs so you can really spend your time soaking up the view. The sun rises over the hills so it's worth getting up early to watch. The rooms are a good size with a comfortable bed and are quite modern. There are a few nice restaurants nearby so you don't need to walk down the hill into town to eat unless you want to. The location is quiet and relaxing, away from the buzz, traffic and pollution of the main town. Town is about 10mins walk away down the hill. There are a couple of small shops nearby selling basics but the nearest ATM is in town. Very friendly hosts Kumar and Rago, who will make you a full breakfast each morning and give you tips on where to go and what to do and can arrange well priced onward transport for you.

The rooms were great. Amazing view! The staff, Kaimar and Ragu, did a great job to make me feel welcomed and prepared a great breakfast - western or even local - just as I wished. I ended up staying 2 weeks there because I fell in love with the view and loved to hang out at the balcony. For me the location was perfect - just out and away from that busy Ella. There are stairs you can take to shorten your way to town - it took me 10 min down, 15min up by foot. I would definitely recommend to stay there! The only thing that could be approved would be a supply of filtered water as there is non at the moment.

The views were mesmerising, just the hotels' photos on here, comfortable beds, however we had a damp smell on our room, which was not too pleasant and asked for a iron but their one was broken. To get to the hotel, there are steep stairs. The bathroom could do with an update, too. All these are not huge deals, but besides these minor faults, all in all, they are very well.

During our trip to Sri Lanka, my husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Onestar Elle, and it undoubtedly became our most memorable hotel experience. Everything surpassed our expectations – from the delectable and generously portioned meals to the charming and tranquil room. The breathtaking view added an extra layer of enchantment to our stay. The staff was not only friendly but also exceptionally accommodating, making our time there truly special.

we had a few bugs in the room but we understand - it's just nature. the shower was rather cool, than warm.

My favourite property that I stayed in, in Sri Lanka! Absolutely breathtaking views from the deluxe double room - Ella Rock, Little Adam’s Peak, a waterfall and even the passing train. Table and chairs on the balcony with a super comfortable day bed - an added bonus I did not expect! A little bit out of the main area of town but an easy walk downhill and a cheap tuktuk ride back up. Room came with a delicious breakfast served on the balcony. Bed was comfortable and good bathroom. Super happy with my stay here.

What a view!!! We were in awe as soon as we reached the guesthouse. The balcony and the view that comes with it is just spectacular.You will get such an amazing service, location and room for the price. All the necessary amenities were provided in Onestar (which in most guesthouses with this price don’t provide). Staff is so nicr and helpful. They carried our luggage down the stairs when we arrived and helped us solve a minor situation. They served nice, classic breakfast and we had it on our balcony with the view!

Our Family loved the property. The mountain view and the sit-out area is amazing! The property looked more beautiful than in the pictures. Kumara is a one man army taking care of the entire property with so much love. He made sure we had a comfortable stay, prepared breakfast to our liking and was alway available. The rooms are very well maintained. Go ahead & book without any doubt. Pick the rooms with Balcony.

Careful with the cemented stairs especially when traveling with kids & family

OneStar Ella rooms are comfortable, clean and very well priced. The view from the room was amazing from our little balcony. A short walk to town, but so is all the accommodation with the good views of Ella rock! We would walk down to go into town and then pay for a tuk tuk back up the hill at night (we paid 500lkr per trip) Lovely breakfast of fruit, eggs, toast and tea or coffee. We also ordered the Sri Lankan breakfast of rice hoppers and Dahl which was delicious! Our host we very accommodating, arranging a driver for us to get to Diyaluma falls with very little notice. We stayed 4 nights and would recommend and stay again in the future.
