A very elegant place and so convenient for taking one of the many sightseeing boats and seeing the Gamla Stan or Old City. I mostly walked everywhere except when going with a friend by bus or tram to see museums on Lidingo (Island) and in Djurgarden. I also took the bus to the Strindberg Museum. Staff very helpful. The hotel is only one mile from Stockholm's Central Station. I even walked to the station to catch the Arlanda Express train which got me to Arlanda Airport in only twenty minutes.

Loved the feel of the hotel, including old world elevator, majestic staircase, outdoor restaurant seating. We booked a superior room which looked across another old style building; could see a corner of the harbor but only if looking out from the window. Location is great. We walked to the museum area, (a must visit is the Vasa museum), and Old Town. The Great Synagogue of Stockholm, Holocaust/Wallenberg Monuments can be seen in the lovely nearby park. Boat rides are located across the street from the hotel.

Shower stall was leaking water on the bathroom floor.

This was a return visit to the Hotel Diplomat for us. We love the location, the comfortable room with fabulous bed linens and heated bathroom floor (it snowed during our stay) and the Butiken where we had breakfast each morning and stopped back for a coffee or glass of wine. We were also glad to have upgraded to a water view at checkin — with the snow it was a charming perch to view the harbor.

The two steps inside our room meant we needed to be extra careful with nighttime bathroom visits. there two steps between the elevator and our room as well. if you have vision or mobility issues you should underscore that when reserving.

We love the history and elegance of the hotel. Everything is tastefully furnished and the ambience is perfect. The period elevator in the entrance foyer is wonderful with its ornate gate to enter. The main dining area has a wonderful view of the harbour. The hotel is perfectly positioned so you can walk to most attractions and historical site of Stockholm. Perfect in every way! The staff at this hotel are excellent. Every one is well trained, polite, helpful and long term employees.

Extremely charming, perfect location, beautiful room and very spacious for a room meant for a single person. Very friendly staff in reception. Good atmosphere in lobby, bar restaurant.

Breakfast/restaurant staff seemed very stressed. They were not very helpful and got things wrong. If you get there at the end of breakfast service, they focus on cleaning, make a lot of noise instead of serving. Elevator was beautiful but very small. Could barely fit luggage - and the concierge service did not offer to bring it up.

The location was great, convenient and central. The restaurant was great, included breakfast was good and fresh. The room was well equipped. The hotel in general was what you would expect from this type of the hotel.

The room we got had strange stairs at the entrance. The bed was on a softer side. I was disturbed several times despite putting “do not disturb” sign. That was a bit strange. TV program is really limited.

Beautiful hotel We had a superior room with the patio view and a king size bed. The room is spacious enough with a comfortable bed and 3 pillows (of different sizes and hardness) per person. A good size bathroom with shower. Fully stocked minibar The TV included a chromecast which was very easy to connect with. Breakfast is great!

We did have 2 issues with the room: - no coffee/tea in the room - the light in the toilet is connected with the light to the entire bathroom and there is no door separating it from the bedroom. This means that if one person needs to visit the bathroom at night than the other will probably also wake up because of the light.

The location was perfect; the front desk and restaurant staff were courteous and well-informed; the food was delicious; and the rooms were lovely and well appointed.

The antique elevator was quite small and slow, leading to several waits of several minutes each while we transferred our luggage upstairs and back down.

Staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The Hotel is iconic with rooms and bathrooms all modern but keeping the feel of the Hotel, sitting areas throughout. Excellent location for walking along the waterfront with bars and restaurants, although the in-house cafe & restaurant are excellent. Easy short walk to the entertainment island and to shopping district in the other direction. Ferries at the doorstep. Great included buffet breakfast with lots of healthy options.

The lift is authentic and can have problems when people do not close the gate on their floor, leaving you to wait for staff to fix it or walk up yourself. It is pretty small and just fits a manual folding wheelchair. Tip: The few front stairs to the building can be overcome by using a side entrance with staff assistance.

Decor tasteful…excellent, Restaurant lovely. Comfortable through out. Great location.

Morning housekeeping staff NON acknowledging every morning. Room beautifully cleaned daily 👍 Toilet location in the bathroom a touch in conveniencing. Reception excellent. Young lady behind reception a touch “non people person” Advised a maintenance issue with reception, but was not rectified.
