This hotel was located across from the rail station, easy to get to. Easy to walk into / through town. Dogs are allowed. Great breakfast, friendly staff, and the room had a balcony. There is a cafe attached to the hotel I downgraded my room, as I stayed an extra night and did not want to change rooms. Even with the basic room, the room worked for me. Visp is a cute town with a beautiful, well preserved old town located 1 hour from Zermatt by rail. There are thermal baths about 10 mins from the Baxter Hotel. Visp has plenty of dining options within walking distance.

I really liked the size of the room. It was perfectly clean, had the kettle and some tea cups. The bed was big and comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay there. The view from the breakfast terrace was stunning!

At the beginning of my stay I saw a sign that towels will only be changed if they are left on the floor (to save water and protect the environment). However even if I kept my towels on the rack they still got changed which was not really needed. If a not like that is displayed the cleaners should stick to what it says.

Location is very near to Visp station, about 1min walk and Coop (convenience store) nearby. Reception area is very spacious with chic interior and great furniture. Staff was very friendly during check in and provided us with bathroom slippers upon request. Room is modern and spacious for us with a balcony. The favourite part was the toilet as the vanity area was large to put a lot of our stuff like hair wax face wash contact lens etc. Toilet has a heated rack as well which helped us to dry our hand-washed clothes easily overnight. Shower space was sufficient and strong water pressure. Breakfast was terrific for the quality and amount

Laundry cost is expensive: 5 francs for a tee shirt, 3 francs for an underwear. Lift size is very small and might have to wait some time to get into the lift during busy hours.

This was our second stay in the Baxter Hotel, and we will not hesitate to come again. Location near the train station opens numerous possibilities for hiking, which was the purpose of our trip. Clean spacy room, with an excellent soundproofing. Air conditioning helped a lot during hot days of summer 2023. Plenty of opportunities to eat literally next door. Very good breakfast. Helpful staff, speaking perfect English. In the contrast to our previous visit, hotel's parking in the nearby garage is now very well signposted and easy to find. Overall, really excellent price/quality ratio, one of the best in our numerous trips across Switzerland.

Great view from the room and comfortable bed. I only checked in for a night as my friends had planned ski trip in Zermatt. My early check in request was honoured,which is I am thankful for. Sorry i don’t recall her name but the lady in reception was helpful & as it was my first visit in Switzerland she recommended me some local restaurants. Thats call personalised service 🥰. Thank you 🙏🏾 If I ever I am back to Swiss. I am definitely coming to Baxter.

Great location for overnight stay before starting Glacier Express from Zermatt —2 minute walk from train station. Amenities thoughtful and the room has everything you need. Nice water pressure in shower. Heated towel rack a nice touch. Wish breakfast could start earlier. We had to catch a 7:08 am train but breakfast starts at 7 on Saturdays. Front desk said we could go earlier to get a coffee and croissant but dining room staff was pretty surly when we showed up at 6:45

breakfast was good and location was excellent, 100m from the railway station. Great as a hub for visiting Bern Zermat interlaken and Montreux etc

We booked the apartment, which was in an annex to the hotel. We had difficulty in finding the annex and had to go back to the hotel to enlist the services of the hotel receptionist to find it. We received written instructions on how to get there via Booking.com, but only after we checked out!

We stayed in two different rooms and loved both of them. The staff was very polite and useful with information we needed during our stay. The rooms and the facilities were clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is at the center, walking distance to the train station, bus station, restaurants and shops. The breakfast was fresh with good variety. The parking garage is across the street, make sure to inform yourself of how to proceed before arrival.

Please, make available the info on how to enter the parking garage late evenings and holidays!

Room was very clean and functional. Breakfast was reasonable for a continental style, nice rooftop terrace as a option in good weather. Car parking was good once you figured out how it works. uses the railway station underground car park, but with dedicated secure area for the hotel. Seemed very safe. town centre location very good for some restaurants, access to shops with railway and bus station right beside it. Staff were excellent. Very helpful with excellent english.

Room could have been a bit bigger for a six day stay, need a bit more luggage & clothes space. Lift is tiny so quite awkward with two people and bags. Switzerland is a quality location, reflected in this hotel, but be prepared for high costs for everything.

Excellent breakfast choices. Very close to the train station. Also, staff were so willing to hold our suitcases for us when we came early, even while we left town to visit Zermatt. We ran out of coffee so we were given the opportunity to order coffee from the restaurant below. They would charge it to our room but the reception would void the charge.
