This place is located in a very interesting area at the edge of the town, on a hill with views of the valley, a vineyard, and some quite nice surrounding homes. The location, organized in a former seminary, is fairly modest. The building is large with extensive corridors, but the rooms are small. They are clean and very basic. However, if you read the description carefully before booking, you’ll know exactly what to expect. The staff remains polite, unobtrusive, and fitting for this setting. What’s interesting is the hassle-free and free parking in front of the hotel, as well as a place where you can prepare your own meals and get coffee, tea, or beer at almost any hour. For Swiss standards, the quality-to-price ratio is very good, though.

If you happen to get a room near the open TV lounge—yes, an open TV lounge because the rooms themselves don’t have TVs, and there is a quiet hours rule—you might hear the evening news and children’s voices until around ten o’clock. In such a case, you can make use of the balcony, which I believe should be a standard feature for the room. You can even smoke there, as ashtrays are provided.

The facilities in the hotel were very nice and they upgraded my room on arrival. The rooms were well appointed and it was good to be able to open the door out onto the balcony and look at the surrounding hills and mountains. I enjoyed the stay in Visp very much as it is a lovely old town with great local atmosphere, including the locals gathering in the main square on Friday evening with stalls selling local food and a school band playing good music. Very easy to take the train to Zermatt for a day trip and lots less tourists in Visp. Also the hotel has a good dinner menu which I took advantage of on the evening after I returned from Zermatt.

While the hotel is a 10 minute walk uphill from the station it was not too difficult.

This place was fantastic! The room and all the hotel's common areas were impeccably clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfortable, and the internet was fast – perfect for catching up after a day of exploring. Plus, the location is just idyllic – peaceful and quiet, with beautiful rural views of trees and grazing lambs right outside the window. It was excellent value for money, and I'll definitely be staying here again whenever I'm in Visp.

While the hotel itself was lovely, the distance to Lonza was a bit challenging, especially after a long workday with a heavy laptop bag and bad weather: raining cats and dogs.

The location was amazing, the view from the window was very picturesque. We were on a hill so it was a steep climb to the hostel but the hostel itself was very calm, spacious and very clean. We enjoyed the peace and quiet after the madness of Paris.

The toaster is very slow and doesn’t toast the bread. That’s all that is wrong, otherwise everything was great.

Lovely hotel, very clean with all the amenities you would need. Very nice outdoor space to enjoy. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We found Visp to be a very good location for exploring the surroundings and also for day trips as it is well connected.

Not speaking German, we didn't realize that we were staying in a seminary and were a bit put-off when the "hotel staff" were unwilling to wait 10 minutes beyond their closing time for our arrival by train. They sent instructions by message and we found the accommodation and keys without difficulty. We also understood that this wasn't a hotel, hence the lack of staff after 8 pm in the evening. Finally, this was no problem. The room was perfect with two tidy single beds, a desk, cupboard, bathroom with shower, and a balcony overlooking the pretty garden. My friend a poet and I, an artist, both thought it would make a great place to research, study, or write in quiet.

Though the hotel is simply equiped yet it offers all the basics you will need for a comfortable stay. Bathroom fully equipped with towels and hairdryer, all super clean as well as the room, you will find a table, a chair and very comfortable beds. The duvet and pillows are absolutely on another level and are a huge plus of the room, did not sleep so good in long time. The room has a balcony that is absolutely great for morning and evening views of the nearby mountains, also facing a hospital roof which gave us a great experience to spot some helicopter landings and take-offs from close.

I would welcome a fridge in the room because if you travel for hiking trips and nature time you will not have much time to visit restaurants and would need to store some food overnight prepared for next day in the fridge. Also the location within the town is not the best, is located at the end of the village which is 12-15 min walk from train station.

Simple but functional place at a really good price. The rooms are very simple, but clean, so if all you need is a bed, it's a great choice. The staff is super nice.

There's a helipad on the building across. If one is landing or leaving, this will awaken the dead. I only experienced that once though, and I've been staying multiple times.

Good value for a very decent price. Bit of a walk but nice and quiet with very good breakfast with beautiful view to the mountains. Easy way to get your keys when late check in.

There is no airconditioning so when warm maybe a fan could be a good thing to cool down a bit although it cools down during the evenings normally.

The room had 8 beds, we were 4 and we received 2 keys for the room. I asked reception if I can get an extra key as we were not going to the same event, the reply was not very helpful, the was no extra key and " I am the only guest of the hotel who ever asked for an extra key " I find it odd that only 2 keys are allocated for a room of 8 people. No other option was offered.
