The hotel staff is super friendly, they could pick you up at the train station and also drive you back after check out for 10 CHF each way; they provide you with the maps of the area and ski slopes. There is an e-bus station (red line) close to the hotel called "Luchre", which is convenient in case you don't want to walk to the village/ski lifts on foot (but be ready that the way from the hotel to the e-bus station includes stairs, so not ideal in ski boots). The hotel is cozy and has a fire place in the reception area next to a small bar. The rooms might benefit from a bit of renovation, but in general are still okay. Rooms have Nespresso coffee machine, teapot, bathrobes and slippers, etc. If you pay for Matterhorn view, be prepared that it might be only partial: e.g. Room 102 has a view, but as it is located on Floor 1, in order to see the top of the mountain you have to go outside to the balcony; otherwise, you'll only be able to see the bottom of the mountain from your window, as the Floor 1 is too low. The breakfast is decent: not a big selection of food, but very good quality products like local yoghurts, cheeses, salami, fresh fruits, etc. The hotel has a ski room and boots room (heated). The cleaning lady comes twice a day (also in the evening to prepare your bed for sleep, change the towels for dry ones, take out the trash and re-stock the tea/coffee capsules - very nice service). The hotel is situated in quite area, you'll sleep well.

The biggest disadvantage is shared balcony - if your neighbors are heavy smokers (which quite often happens with Europeans), all the smoke will end up in your room. And again - if you decide to pay extra for Matterhorn view, be prepared that you might get a partial view only. The hotel restaurant is open for breakfast only, so you'll have to look for food elsewhere in the evening. Otherwise, it is a good place to stay

Everything. This is a beautiful, thoughtful property. Staff was over the top helpful , treated me like family. Valentina (I hope this is correct) was amazing. Her colleague was also very nice on my checkout morning. Comfortable, quiet, every amenity & more provided. Breakfast was delicious, many options for various dietary needs , enjoyed in a very fine dining space. 2 blocks from a small market Dining options nearby Most helpful with planning excurtions. They offer a transfer thats less cost than local cab , just request. I didn't get a chance to use the spa, it's a wonderful ammenity. I wish I'd stayed longer. I would definitely return to Hotel Albatros If you are looking for a boutigue option for a special occasion or small/ medium event look no further. .Thanks again for everything

The location. Easy walk to everything. 10 min to the train, steps to shops and restaurants. Amazing views from shared balcony.

1. No AC. We were extremely hot the nights we slept there in mid August even with the windows open. 2. The hotel bar had certain hours however it was mysteriously closed the few times we went to use it. 3. The neighboring apartment building had tenants who would stay up all night long on their balconies drinking and yelling back and forth to one another. When the door was closed you couldn’t hear them, but because the room was so hot, we were forced to listen to them all night. Sadly we didn’t get much sleep.

We had a wonderful experience with Hotel Albatros right from the start. As soon as I made the reservation they communicated with me. The staff was the best feature! The young lady at the desk was happy and friendly every time we saw her. She gave us lots of info and recommendations. We enjoyed talking with her particularly because she lives there year-round, not just at high season. We used their shuttle service (10€) from the train station because we had several bags but we could have walked; it's not far. I particularly liked the location because many places in Zermatt are up the steep mountainsides. Hotel Albatros is a short walk from the Kirchbrücke (best point for viewing the Matterhorn) and the main street, with only a mild incline. I have bad knees/back so this was significant for me. The room was lovely and had extra amenities like slippers and robes, espresso maker/pods, etc. I loved having the balcony and partial view of the Matterhorn. One thing to note is the balconies are shared - there is no division to define where your space ends/begins. But this is not a problem, there are chairs and a little table for each room, and even lap blankets on the chairs out there. We loved Hotel Albatros and highly recommend it.

The excellent hotel in Zermatt! We were welcomed with a glass of prosecco and told in detail about the hotel, available services, and different activities in Zermatt. The location is perfect, it's not far away from the city center but also away from the crowds. The staff is amiable, it was a pleasure to meet such people! The room was great and cozy and had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend booking a room with a Matterhorn view and a balcony, it's definitely worth it! We also enjoyed a various and delicious breakfast with fried eggs, bacon, croissants, cheese, coffee, fresh orange juice and etc. By the way, there is a SPA in the hotel, but unfortunately, we didn't have time to use it. So, I would also recommend taking biking with you :)

The wellness center is superior, it has dry and wet sauna and I especially liked the relaxation room where you can turn on spiritual sounds. The breakfast was standard and nice, but not as good and offering a variety of choices as in some other hotels of similar class I visited in Switzerland

While it's written that the wellness center works 4-8pm, you should preorder it, otherwise saunas can be turned off. On the other hand this saves the energy and environment as there were not many people who wanted to use the wellness center even though it's very nice. Bathroom needs a small refreshment in the shower area, but not anything substantial. The ski room is lacking a door closing spring mechanism and I found it open a few times as people took their ski and forgot to lock the room. Luckily nothing disappeared.

Staff on reception, cleaners and breakfast staff were all very friendly and helpful. We had a junior suite which was very comfortable. A great choice of food at breakfast, very nicely presented. Everything was clean. Great quite spot on edge of town. It was lovely to sit on our balcony enjoying a glass of Williams and looking at the Matterhorn.

Nothing really. I've marked down on facilities to save those who like to complain having to spend their time searching for something: one of the curtains in the room was loosely attached.

The room was fantastic. We didn't have any breakfast, but it smelled so delicious we almost did! Bed was super comfy, and was the best sleep we had on the entire trip around Europe.

The only thing that we had trouble with was turning on/off the jacuzzi. After we turned it off, it would randomly turn back on every 10 minutes for the next hour. We finally figured out that we could just turn down the intensity of the jets, and that seemed to work - but just turning it all off did not

Hotel Albatross was beyond what we had expected. We were staying in Europe for quite a few days and had kinda got used to smaller rooms and bathrooms. Albatross surprised us with a good size room, bed, and big bathroom. The hostess were super helpful and kind. They answered all our questions patiently (and we had quite a few questions :) )They helped us pick restaurants as we had some dietary restrictions. The lobby was quite cozy and elegant. We will definitely go back again!

We found this property on booking.com and chose it because it seemed to be a good value. How thrilled we were to arrive and find what a treasure we had stumbled into! greeted warmly with a glass of Prosecco, the lobby area has a lovely fireplace and seating area with a bar to the side. It was a 10-minute walk from the train station - we are four people ranging in age from 35 to 74 and managed with light luggage but is canted uphill and they have a shuttle available should you need it. Very nicely decorated and furnished, our bedroom was spacious enough with two chairs for seating as well as a balcony with cozy chairs and a view of the Matterhorn. The kids were given a discount at the local ski rental spot (which delivers and picks up the gear) and purchased their lift tickets right at the hotel desk. The hostess even provided my husband and me with extra ski poles so we could take the train up and walk across to Chez Vrony to meet the skiers for lunch. We also reserved the lovely spa (steam room sauna, jacuzzi and lounge area -all new and beautiful - for our family’s exclusive use for an hour each day! The breakfast buffet (linen tablecloths!) was lovely with fresh eggs and bacon and extensive choices and great cappuccinos. We have already recommended this place to friends who are coming in February and we will be making it our regular stop in Zermatt.

nothing!
