We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Phoenix very much and would recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Zermatt. The hotel itself is located conveniently, a short 5-10 minute walk to the train station and 5 minute walk to the Sunnegga lift. If you prefer to go a little further to the Gonergrat train to the top, that is walkable as well. The hotel is so clean, the staff friendly, and the rooms are beautiful. It was truly a 5 star experience. The free breakfast was nice with an assortment of cheeses, meats, fruit, eggs, and freshly baked breads and bakery items. We hope to be back to Zermatt and will definitely stay here again.

I can’t think of anything I did not like.

The room was very comfortable and modern, however maybe a little bit small for a week long stay. The breakfast buffet was sensational - so much variety. We also very much appreciated the English tv channels, it was great to watch a movie in English after a day of skiing. Nice big ski room.

A sauna would have been great for after skiing. The location is about an 8 minute walk to the Sunnegga lift which is very squishy in the mornings - and a much further walk to other lifts.

The hotel itself was stylishly modern and ecologically focused. Constructed of high-end materials like stacked stone and exposed wood accent walls, the rooms and property had a sophisticated feel. Perhaps more important, the reception desk staff were superb. Jolanda, in particular, went out of her way to orient us to the environs, to recommend hiking trails and restaurants, and to engage us in pleasant conversation. We were sad to leave!

This was probably my favorite hotel during our two week stay in switzerland. The people were so nice. The room was great and even had a nice patio that we could sit on together at the end of our day. The breakfast was fantastic. Nice variety , fresh and plentiful. We had an issue with yellow jackets under our patio door. They took care of it right away. We traveled with 3 people and the room was big enough for all of our bags and us. The walk from the train station isn't too far but for older folks the hill might be a bit much but there are taxis. We decided to stay and hike the morning we checked out as you could see Matterhorn. They let us leave our luggage so we could enjoy the rest of our stay in zermatt. Would stay here again and highly recommend.

Only thing we didn't like was there is a gym/hang out right outside the side of the building we stayed on. Too many people loitering there smoking. I know this is out of control of the hotel.

Just stayed 2 nights in Phoenix hotel. The location is pretty good , just a 7 min walk from Zermatt station. The breakfast is very complete and they even offered me a GF bread as I am allergic but overall I will highlight the great and friendly service from all the staff specially at the front desk. Friendly, polite and always willing to help with anything! I will definitely return if coming back to Zermatt.

The staff are wonderful, it’s like staying with family. the breakfast, apero, snacks and daily soup are excellent. We enjoyed the location as gave us a walk before and after dinner. Also very close to the rental shop. The hotel is spotless and the cleaning crew is amazing.

Our only wish is that the hotel had a sauna, steam or something - there really wasn’t anything that we disliked about the property.

Amazing location with great view. Our room was on the roof floor, and view was just spectacular. Nice mountains hugging you around, Matterhorn ahead and view to the stars thru ceiling windows. Sadly, you can't look into them from the bed, but still, awesome in the night. Great breakfast with everything was there even 20 minutes before end time. More than enough space in the room and in the wardrobe. Good enough quite firm mattress, enough power sockets to charge everything. The safe is quite small (don't expect to be able to fit laptop there, but tablet fits).

The pillows, while being good quality down-feather, didn't provide enough support. We had to ask for second pillows and put them both into single pillowcase to make it comfortable enough.

Fantastic breakfast, nice variety, good coffee. Nice bar and bartender and lounge space for an after dinner drink and chat or game of cards.

Our room for three with three singles did not leave much space (the third bed was a pull-out couch, which must have been the free space in a two singles room). It was tight but clean, and with a tidy-up between nights.

Room was very clean and nicely decorated. The breakfasts were excellent and had such a good variety. The staff kept up with clearing the tables discreetly and kept the food restocked. The staff was so helpful and friendly and ready to make our stay as great as possible.

Wifi was not very strong.

We booked a Standard Double Room and really enjoyed staying here. The room and hotel facilities were modern, very clean, and comfortable. Staff were friendly to deal with. Breakfast was a small selection but everything looked fresh. We did not have issues with noise during our stay.

The location is a short walk from the train station, but that was not an issue for us.
