Location is amazing. Open view at Matterhorn. Hotel is very comfortable and houskeeping staff is five stars.

We have had breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is good. However, main course for the dinner is realy bad. I have ready a few comments about it but did not anticipate that the cook cannot cook. Example: Spaetzle were mixed with croutons? Fish was served on the barely cooked beans (can?). Risotto was raw (this is not al dente!). And so on.... I guess that the cook is from south of Germany... Every meal has this German sauce which is recycled on several dishes. Too many things are mixed up. If you decide to go, be prepared to put up with this.

One of a kind place in the middle of a mountain. Nice chalet-y styled rooms, great spa, superb terrace directly facing Matterhorn. If you're ever in Switzerland, you must must see the Matterhorn. There is no other mountain like that. Also, the kindest and most helpful receptionist (Bravo Julie). There are tons of hiking trails with most spectacular views of surrounding mountains. And if you're lazy you can take the Gornergrat train up and down from/to Zermatt. In winter, it's ski in and out, of course, as the hotel is at 2550m elevation.

Given that there is nothing in the area, hotel imposes a breakfast and dinner menu in the price. While breakfast is very good, dinner menu is so-so and there is only a choice of meat/no-meat main dish (albeit portions are very generous, it must be said). And a bottle of water is 10CHF (!!), they tell you it's because they are running a local filtering facility. So, dinner is kind of a canteen experience, which is disappointing at this price level.

The view was incredible! Breakfast and dinner were nice. Kind and helpful staffs.

The outside Jacuzzi was very popular, but too small. Everybody was waiting in the line. Two couple were having fun there and many people had to wait for more than an hour.

The Hotel is obviously at a beautiful location. The rooms are spacious and lovely. If you are planning on skiing, the lift is next to the hotel. Food was great and spas was very relaxing.

The Hotel had a lot of “requests” before checking in. The last train to reach the hotel from Zermatt is at 7:30pm after that it is impossible to reach the hotel by any means. There is no other restaurant in the area except the hotel restaurant. If you want to ski, you will have to rent the gear from Zermatt and bring to the hotel and then you will have to return before 6 and reach hotel before 7:30 pm. The dinner gets over by 8pm. This was a reason why we didn’t go skiing while in Zermatt.

This is a beautiful hotel at the top of the mountain, reachable only by train, that it's 20 minutes from the main station, and 5 minutes walking distance from the train stop at the top up the hill, just next to the lift ( for ski season ) lots of routs for hiking from the hotel . Very good size rooms and fantastic dinners. Friendly staff . Big terrace to enjoy views , and Matterhorn peak

The hotel it located at the top of the mountain. It's access is only by train. The cost of the train to get to and from the hotel is approximately 80 swiss francs. Like a "complement" the hotel should include this transfer for arrival and departure. There is and option of multi-trip tickets, but it is limited to the train that runs along the Gornergrat Bahan route, since in summer season the ski lifts are closed. So the option going up and down more than twice to Zermatt town becomes excessively expensive .

The room design was very cute (way cuter than exterior of the hotel). Very clean and well managed facilities. Hot pool outside was awesome. Stunning views.

Nothing really. The reception staff could have been a little more knowledgeable about sunrise/sunset time in the area when we inquired, but maybe it's me who has too high expectations (spoiled from Korean/Japanese hotel service).

Amazing location with unforgettable views. Sauna and steam room are exceptional and again amazing views. Meals provided with stay were absolutely delicious

We were not warned that if we leave, we may not make it back due to trains/gondola not running related to weather. Almost got stuck in town without any of our things and would have had to pay for another(very pricey) room for the night.

the hotel location with a clear view of Matterhorn. The members of staff are nice. I like the outdoor jacuzzi with the view of Matterhorn . I like the breakfast despite limited choices.

the Gornergrat train to the hotel is too expensive and only valid for one way. it should allow hotel guest to have unlimited rides. The dinner is so so only.
