Our room was spacious and very well appointed, and we particularly enjoyed the balcony with its exceptional view of the Matterhorn. The hotel staff are knowledgeable and helpful, always available yet unobtrusive.

The walk to the town centre is quite long, and private electric taxis quite expensive if used routinely. However, the town's e-bus service has a stop near to the hotel and this solved the issue, once we had learned its timetable.

rooms are gorgeous and well decorated. the views from the balcony are stunning.

We were only told on arrival that the restaurant would be closed for the duration of our stay as we were going into low season. The hotel is a 20 minute uphill walk from the central street and after a long day hiking / biking we just wanted to rest at the hotel. The staff helped us order take aways in the local area but it cost 25 euro each time for delivery. It would have been good to know about the restaurant closure in advance.

Nice boutique hotel in a perfect location for those who would like to enjoy the calm of the mountains. Close to multiples walking paths. Staff was friendly and always smiling. The restaurant was really good ( food and service excellent).

We had a bedroom which was facing the main walking path of the hotel, which was very noisy. For our next stay for sure we will ask for a quieter room.

The bedroom/bathroom combine was very good. The breakfasts were good and offered great variety. The dinners were very enjoyable- we chose to eat in 5 out of our 6 nights there

Not really within the hotel’s control but the bus service should be at twice the frequency with a stop by the Matterhorn Paradise cable car entrance on the way up out of town. This would then make the nice quiet location a lot more convenient.

The location, the entire experience, the staff, the atmosphere, the food were fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Zermatt. It is beautiful and in a very nice quiet location, easily accessible by bus.

everything was excellent- no complaints. We received everything that we expected and would return to this location when visiting Zermatt again in the future

it’s very beautiful, the structures and design match the whole Zermatt theme. very nature oriented with the wood design. I love how they make your bed and put chocolates. I love the personal sauna and steam shower in your own room. you cannot get that anywhere. I wish I could live here forever. exceptional service from the staff. Danke, merci beaucoup!

No taxi service to the town. 25 mins walk.

We stayed at the spa room with private sauna and tub inside the room. It was perfect and clean. The staff is kind and extremely helpful. They always smile and make your day better. Breakfast was excellent, it was a buffet breakfast with a lot of choices. They could even provide us with delicious gluten-free bread rolls. We are very satisfied with Hotel Matthiol.

Clean number with spa and sauna, every day cleaning by professional staff, quietness, car- free zone, amazing air, mountain view, wood balcony, magical breakfast and all cuisine, kind polite , friendly staff, and many many more pluses

Matthiol hotel is amazing. Beautiful location, amazing room, and waking up to the Matterhorn is unforgettable. Our room had all the amenities expected of a Swiss luxury hotel. Breakfast was fabulous. The staff was very warm and welcoming. Saida and Mareike were very nice to us. The electric cart driver too. And the best view of the Matterhorn!

Very decent breakfast. Staff at reception, breakfast, dinner, chef and all excellent. We decided to turn back to the hotel upon realising that the last train back home would have us arrive the next morning, so we headed back to Matthiol Hotel and were well received for re-check in just after 22h00.
