The hostel was in a super idyllic location - right in the centre of the old city and close to some great cafes and the walking market. The beds (and rooms) were spacious and comfy, with modern amenities and you could tell the common areas were cleaned regularly. Each bed had a thick curtain, little shelf to keep your belongings, and the room was always nice and air conditioned. It’s not a party hostel, so don’t expect a super social atmosphere - but if you’re looking to just relax in a chill setting and explore the city on your own terms, this hostel is perfect. There was also a super cute and sassy cat on the premise that made my stay even more enjoyable. :)
Not the fault of the hostel, but there were some inconsiderate guests that smoked in the common areas and talked loudly in the rooms. The lockers are also outside the room and the bathroom a bit of a walk away. But I got used to that quickly.

One of the greatest hostels I have stayed in! It is absolutely beautiful and what is most important for me it was super clean. Like literally you could eat from the floor! Rooms are cosy and have pretty design, same with bathrooms. Staff was nice and helpful, I could leave my bags before check in and after check out. It is located by main street in old town so it was close everywhere. Great addition to all this advantages was owner's cat who was the sweetest boi ever. My best stay in Thailand!

I highly recommend this hostel! In terms of location, it’s situated right in the middle of the Old Town, making transportation very convenient. The overall accommodation is very clean, and I really liked that each bed has a small cabinet with a mirror. Although the storage space in the room is limited, you can store your luggage under the bed. The bathroom is also very clean, but the only minor downside is that the shower area only has hooks, which makes it a bit inconvenient to place toiletries. Overall, I really like Khunluang Hostel Hostel. If you’re not looking for a bustling social environment, this is a great option where you’ll have plenty of personal space.

I really enjoyed staying here and even extended my stay! The hostel perfectly suited my needs as I was looking for something more quiet and I loved the cafe which was part of the hostel. They do the best coffee in Chiang Mai & delicious cakes. When the cafe closes you can continue using the cafe space which was great because I needed to get some work done on my laptop. Showers and toilets were always kept clean as the cleaning lady cleaned throughout the day and first thing in the morning, rooms were nice with comfy beds and I liked the little cupboard with mirror next to the bed. FYI there are no lockers in the actual rooms

Looked amazing, relaxing ‘hotel’ like look for a hostel, cosy and comfortable dorms. The dorms were locked with keycards so didn’t have to worry about leaving bags in there. The cafe was cute as well, quite a quiet vibe when I went, I think some people from the hostel were working online in there.
The bathrooms looked nice, but nowhere to put any clothes for the shower. Not much of a social vibe in the hostel and no common area outside of the cafe which was quiet. Was very lovely though, so depends what you’re looking for.

Next to 3 Kings monument, on the street where the Sunday market takes place, close to the airport, very clean, very nice bedding, new furnishings/renovated. While there are some small issues, the owners have put a lot of thought into the design, cleanliness, and security of the property. I would stay again.
A few of the staff members don't provide instructions when people check in and guests end up getting lost or don't know how to work the unique doors and security systems. There is an indoor/outdoor cat on the property that makes his way into the rooms and that will try to get your food if you eat when the cafe owners are no longer watching it. You have to ask for a locker and I don't think they have enough if every person asked for one. If you forget your keycard when you leave for the bathroom at night, you either have to wake people up or sleep in the hallway. The men's bathroom is on a different floor from where most of the men get assigned.

I loved that it was clean, nicely air conditioned and overall had a great atmosphere. The design of the hostel is really beautiful. The staff are super nice. I checked in really late and they left the key card and towels for me on the reception desk and let me pay the next morning. The place is super quiet. You’ll get a nice night of sleep
I think it’s a little hard to meet other people. Maybe the hostel could organise a coffee meet up in the morning, so that other solo travellers could meet

It was my first time in a hostel. And if all hostels are like this; I’ll never leave. Stayed for five nights, and loved it. It is quiet, clean and super friendly staff. Perfect laundry service and could leave my luggage when having an overnight activity in the Chiang Mai jungle. Thanks team!
They do not service any breakfast. Also the shop in shop does not, eventhough its a coffee bar. Which opens after 09.00 am?

The location was so center, just in front of the sunday market, but it was also quiet at night. The bed was comfy and clean and smells so nice. The upper bed was not difficult to reach bc the stairs are wide enough, so if you don't get lower bunk, it was still okay. The room temperature was nice and comfortable for sleeping, bc weather in Chiang Mai can be hot. I love the interior of this hostel, so chic and beautiful, it looks more like hotel than hostel. It has a coffee shop at the lobby, and you can get 10% discount if you stay at the hostel. In person staff was nice and friendly and also helpful. Overall, I highly recommend this hostel.
Water dispenser would be nice.

Location was great; beds were comfortable and with good privacy; there’s a nice cafe attached to the reception
Dorms are way too small; lockers are outside, in the common area; when you open the dorms room it makes a loud noise, which is annoying when people are trying to sleep; bathrooms are too far from the dorms
