Tamarind is probably the best hotel I've stayed at in Thailand and I've stayed in a fair few. The location was great for the Old City. The staff were amazing and wonderful. The breakfast was exceptional (omg, the papaya!). The beds and room were super comfortable. Slept solid. The onsite spa gave me one of the best thai massages I've ever had. Efficient laundry service as well. They even helped sort out an exceptional outside driver for getting us to faraway places we wanted to trek. Super happy with my stay here. I even liked the fluffy squirrels runing up and down the 200 year old Tamarind tree.

Honestly, it's hard to find fault with this hotel and I say that sincerely.

The hotel is very nice, staff always smiling and helpful. Breakfast is tasty and there is plenty of fresh fruits to choose from. The standard room is comfortable although quite small, however bathroom is very nice. Swimming pool is an instagram superstar, sunbeds are comfortable, also not too crowded when we were there but its mid-may, low season..

Its a 4 star but there is something missing for a full 4 star experience, especially given the price per night which is more expensive than other hotels in CM which offer the same facilities and room comfort. We expect more from a 4 star ;)

We visited Tamarind Village after 11 years and it is still such an amazing, tranquil and beautiful place. The staff is very attentive and extreme friendly (even for Thai people). The rooms are beautiful with lots, they pay a lot of attention to detail. The restaurant is great for breakfast, you can order your eggs any way you'd like, lots of choices from fruits to Asian dishes. Dinner also good but the tastes are a bit adapted to the Western public (in my opinion). The location is excellent within walking distance of great temples, the night market and other nice local eateries. Thanks so much for having us again!

Tamarind Village is a heritage style hotel perfectly located in the old town of Chiang Mai. It is an oasis of calm in the town. Staff in the hotel were lovely, very helpful and efficient. Breakfast served overlooking the pool was excellent - lots of choice from a buffet, with eggs cooked to order. Pool is nice and big and great to come back to after walk around the town. The free temple walk provided by the hotel was a nice touch. Excellent location if you want to be able explore the many temples of Chiang Mai. We had really nice room, but would go for a room on the 1st floor next time to a bit of added privacy.

All good

This hotel is in the best location!!!! The staff is amazing and you will be well taken care of!!! The hotel is very classic Thai and very quaint. We had the standard room and it was smaller than I expected...but very nice. The air conditioner was very good as well as the Wifi. Fabulous shower!!!! The restaurant and pool were very nice! the pool is heated. Breakfast was amazing and dinner even better. The drinks are yumie and priced well! This is an excellent choice for Chiang Mai, upgrade to a bigger room if you have lots of luggage.

The room was small. The stairs are awkward to the room, but ok for us...not for very old folks. I wish there had been more pool beds around the pool. All in all these are minor things considering the location and services offered at this hotel.

Serenity in old city, full of cultural decorations, warm friendly & respectful staff. I'd stay there again next time

it'd be awesome to have more vegetarian options in breakfast.

We fell in love with this hotel. It is a little oasis of peace and quiet in the middle of the city, in the most perfect location. All the staff were amazing and made our stay even more memorable with their smiles, kindness and level of service. We loved the boutique hotel experience and really enjoyed the traditional Lanna style of the property. The breakfast was the best I have ever had in my life. We really enjoyed the free walking tour of all the temples and loved our guide, who was very knowledgeable and made sure we had a great time. The room was beautifully decorated, full of thoughtful details, and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool after a long day of exploring Chiang Mai and the Tamarind restaurant, which serves some of the most delicious food (and cocktails) we had in Thailand. Tamarind is a place that easily feels like home and we will definitely return one day. Other things we appreciated: - The night live music on the restaurant - The mosquito sprays (we bought one because it smelled great!) - The boutique (even though it is very expensive) - The choice of excursions from the hotel

The staff were all excellent. They were knowledgeable and helpful. I was impressed that they knew who we were and what our plans included. They were great at helping us organise activities and giving us directions to great places to eat. Breakfast was beautiful with a supply of food to suit all. Our room was beautifully presented and cared for during the day. I loved that our beds were turned down and the light put on for our evening return. The hotel also offered little extras like an walking tour of some of the main sites close to the hotel and afternoon workshops in a variety of activities. The experience at Tamarind Village was fantastic and I would definitely return to them if ever in Chiang Mai again.

Everything was excellent.

lovely and professional staff; location in old city; nice chilled vibe; comfortable rooms; great spa treatments; good food and great breakfast; lovely pool

rooms are quite small and lack natural light; quite expensive for what you get, bedrooms-wise; really needs a refurbishment - maybe just repainting; biggest flaw for us was, staying in a ground floor room, we could hear EVERYTHING from the room above ( even tinkling toilet 😁). BUT overall we would recommend it - possibly the best option in the old city - it’s a very calming stay

I loved the fact that it was a safe place to stay . The rooms were very clean the staff really has an eye for detail . There are activities ( complimentary) conducted for the guests like garland making and umbrella painting to name a few . Ruen Tamarind the restaurant has delicious food and lots to choose from .The staff at the main desk are very efficient and service delivered with a smile 😊 Grab taxi is quick to come to the hotel and there are many restaurants close by . The Sunday market is just outside the main gate of the hotel .The staff really go out of their way to assist .

Keep up the good work 🙏🏽
