The location is absolutely fantastic. The archaeology museum can be easily reached from the beautiful Gulhane park, without having to go to the main Topkapi entrance. Hagia Sofia is reached by walking uphill and taking the first left down to Sultanahmet square. Up the same hill and then turning right, you soon come upon a Bim supermarket on the left where you can buy beer and Turkish Delight at a good price. Beyazit square, where the airport shuttle now stops, is walking distance away from the hotel. We arrived just before midnight and it was quite safe to walk. Staff are amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Faruk told us to tell him any problem. I fix everything, he proclaimed with confidence. He handed us some tour leaflets and said, don't believe any of the prices you see. I get it for less. Breakfast was very adequate and varied. Tea, coffee, cold water are on tap. There is always someone on duty at reception. Our triple room was small, but do-able. We stayed 3 nights and it was fine. One cannot have that location and a large room. PS Nearby restaurants are mostly touristy, but we had a decent kebap lunch just downhill from the hotel, on the same side. If staff can't speak English well, you know you're on the right track. In Sultanahmet, usually retreating one block beyond a busy street reveals more economic and authentic options.

I would highly recommend!! I had a layover in Istanbul and chose Hotel Vera for its positive reviews on Booking. Location was perfect especially if you plan on walking to local attractions and want to be near plenty of food and shopping areas. I arrived late (around 9pm) and was able to find plenty of late night food options within 5 minute walking distance. The staff was extremely friendly and had perfect communication throughout my stay. They were thoughtful, proactive, and even helped me out by communicating/coordinating with my driver for my private transfer to the airport. I really appreciated the level of thoughtfulness and kindness they put into making guests feel comfortable. It made a huge difference and put me at ease, as I was only in Turkey for 20 hours and was a bit worried about logistics. Many thanks to the staff for making me short stay so smooth and enjoyable. The room was clean and looked just like the pictures on Booking. Breakfast was well organized and yummy. I appreciated the small disposable cups which allowed me to drink my tea while I walked around Istanbul.

We went with our family and were in two rooms with only carry-ons. Yes, the rooms are small, but it is in old-town Istanbul where this is too be expected. It would be tight with two full-sized suitcases but definitely manageable. You have to decide if being less than a 5 minute walk from the square with the Haggai Sophia and the Blue Mosque is worth a few extra square centimeters. The hotel was clean, they mopped our room every day, and the staff was super friendly. The breakfast was good, too. The only potential issue I could see is if you want a spacious room, otherwise I highly recommend this hotel. There is also a paid parking lot across the street.

Everything was good, as I mentioned, two full-sized suitcases would make the room tight, but it is manageable. The location and cleanliness easily offset that potential issue.

Also the small surface of the room was explicitely mentioned in the description. The rooms have also an interesting locking mechanism making them safe * good breakfast * very good location * top price/performance. Just keep your expectation reasonnable

The location is great, right next to Hagia Sophia mosque, waling distance to Grand Bazar and even ro Galata Tower on the other side of the bridge if you have the time. Anyway, the T1 tram is just down the street. You also have a supermarket nearby. The place was also very clean, which made us feel very comfortable. Beds were comfortable and clean. The breakfast is also quite diverse and good. Our host, Farooq, was also very helpful and hospitable. Thank you for the stay, we had a great first trip to Istanbul :)

The room and place overall is quite small, but you have so many things to do around that you will probably not spend much time in the room anyway.

The property is in a great location, just a few minutes walk from all of the major tourist sites in Sultanahmet. The hotel provides good breakfast. The rooms on higher floors were quiet despite being in a busy neighborhood. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel also arranged private airport transfer for price comparable to most taxi companies.

The beds were not super comfortable. There was no top sheet provided, just a comforter. The bottom sheet was rough. The floors were also not very clean.

The hotel exceeded my expectation. About the staff: Faroq - good manager and can help/supports with any questions. He also can find you good tour to Cappadocia if you want. Jawed and Khilil are super friendly , we had nice conversation and they can protect you from over-priced taxi drivers !!! Facts Malaqa - very kind lady she is making the best turkish coffie. She also know Russian language. We had nice conversation. About location: The hotel In the middle of city center. Everything is near here. Wifi connection also good. You have unlimited access to the water in the reception. The room is nice with comfortable beds Breakfast is good (photo). We definitely will come again to here.

Everything was great! The staff was very helpful: we were offered a room upgrade, tickets to a boat trip, umbrellas when it was raining, also they made fresh Turkish coffee every morning and booked us a cab to the airport at the end of our stay. The room was very clean and spacious. The location is just perfect, right in the historic city center, about 7 minute walk to Hagia Sophia.

There was no hot water in the shower for a short while but it was quickly fixed.

I was pleasantly surprised with the big variety of fresh breakfast and with the fact that we were provided with clean towels every single day. The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially the girl named Neftune who was serving breakfast every day! Even though the neighbourhood has been evolved dramatically in a touristic aspect which I found quite unpleasant, the hotel has a great location, because it's pretty close to the greatest historical monuments of Istanbul which you can reach out by foot in nearly 6 minutes. However, I would suggest to the ownership to not push the personnel any further by putting them in position of asking the clients for a written review in Booking. Keeping the service at same excellent level and having a happy clientele is enough for you to know that your stuff is already doing its best !

The stay at this hotel was wonderful, the service was incredible. I told Faruk that my parents, as elderly people, had difficulty entering the bathroom and he provided us with a larger room. The breakfast is very good and the location is excellent, the lady that providided breakfast was also very nice and give my father always turkish coffee since she knew he like it. They also solved a major price problem with a taxi, so as a guest, you feel protected as a foreigner. Highly recommended. We will be coming back to this hotel if we visit again Istanbul.
