This is a fantastic place to stay. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfy. It had an ensuite with a bath and shower, plenty of towels, a bathrobe each and even face cloths. Soap was provided and shower gel if needed. The bed was large and comfy. There was a small fridge with fresh milk provided daily along with 2 bottles of water and a chocolate bar each. Tea and coffee were also provided in the room. Some handy little additions included a picnic blanket, a torch in each bedside cabinet, a fan, a hot water bottle and a sewing kit. We ate every night in the pub, we didn't intend to, but the food was so delicious, we didn't feel the need to go anywhere else. There was not one meal that we didn't enjoy. The breakfast was amazing as well, we didn't need lunch as we filled up at breakfast time. Breakfast included fresh fruit, cereal, toast and a traditional fried breakfast which you could have all items or just one or two! It's about 10 - 15 minutes from Alnwick and about 30 minutes from Bamburgh. If you have a dog, all rooms are dog friendly, theres a barrel of water outside to top up the dogs water and towels in the entrance, should you need to dry your dog before going upstairs. You are able to take your dog when you eat as well, as there a tables in the bar which are dog friendly. Overall a fantastic stay and very highly recommended!

What a gem. The Tankerville Arms was excellent for a short stay. We were greeted by friendly staff. Food was excellent and you won’t be disappointed with the breakfast. Everything was fresh and well presented. Even the dog was given a cooked sausage . We stayed in the French room. The room had everything you would need for a comfortable stay .
We are elderly so needed to take care on stairs with it being a narrow tread. Plus a step down into bedroom . But this is an old worldly pub . You have your own private bathroom but it is across from your room. Not a problem really and robes were provided.

I couldn’t fault the quality of service by the staff who were engaging and professional. The evening menu was not extensive but the choice was good with the food being beautifully cooked and presented without any delay. Breakfast set us up for day, again with good choices. Woody particularly enjoyed his sausage! All in all our stay was enjoyable, made so by the kindness, attention and professionalism of the staff and owners, and the ambience created by the stove and the friendliness of the locals. We visited in February, miserably wet and cold, but we’ve every intention to return later in the year when the sun is hopefully out.
We stayed in the French room, which wasn’t en suite, but had a private bathroom across the landing. Not a problem at all, the provided bath robes were a nice touch. The sloping bedroom floor was challenging for my partner, but the building is old with character. The bed was comfortable and we slept well enough, my only criticism would be that the traditional sheet, blanket and eiderdown combo was a little heavy for us, - being soft southerners used to a duvet.

The staff were wonderful so friendly, very the road outside was closed due to road work, we were given maps with the best way to go. The toilets were great, very clean, and well designed. The food was fabulous, very fresh piping hot and plenty of it. A table was kept for us every night if you want to eat.
Although in a pretty place it is very out of the way, there is nothing but a church. The pub is very quiet after 9.00pm and no one there after 10.00pm. This was fine for us but not for everyone.

From the moment we arrived the staff were absolutely lovely and when the lady showed us to our room we were blown away by the size the facilities the cleanliness an amazing place I'm almost reluctant to recommend it in case I can't get booked in the next time I want to go which will be soon we loved it there then we come on to the food not a massive menu and if you listen to Gordon Ramsay that's the way it should be I had the sea bass in a prawn and champagne sauce delicious and my husband Gary had the home made steak and ale pie it was so nice he had it the 2nd night too our compliments to the chefs and breakfast was amazing the owners made a point of coming to talk to us giving us maps and telling us the best places to visit it was our wedding anniversary teat and it was all we could of wanted and more a definite 11 out of 10 from us and we will see you soon and thank you so much

Feeling in need of pampering, booked the Suite which fully met expectations. The room is huge, with large bed and a 'living room' area with leather sofa/arm chairs plus TV with Sky and DVD (plus disks). There's also an Amazon Echo unit, if you wish to use Alexa. I was especially impressed with the pre-stocked mini-bar containing chilled waters and also milk for tea/coffee and snacks. The bathroom has a large walk-in rain shower, but no bath if that's important to you. The dinner and breakfast were both excellent and staff friendly and efficient. Although the room has windows facing the 'main' road, that's a relative term in Eglingham and I wasn't troubled by noise through the night.
My preference would have been for desk in room, I was balancing laptop on my knees sitting on the sofa, although clearly this hotel is aimed at leisure travellers. Also a personal choice, I'd have liked net curtains on the windows which had a line-of-sight to houses across the street.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food is really good, well cooked, tasty and nicely presented. Also very reasonably priced. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very good.
The bedroom was a little tired, but spotless. Unfortunately we found the bed uncomfortable. It was a good size, but you could feel the springs! This could be easily rectified with a mattress topper. Pillows could also do with replacing as they were a bit flat. A bit too far away from anywhere else.

Though we didn't have time to dine, there is a table reserved for guests. Staff called us prior to arrival to confirm arrival time and details of booking and whether the table was required. Staff were attentive and friendly and the beds insanely comfy - pillows too! I rarely find a hotel where the pillows are comfy! Nice little notes in the room which explained the Alexa, air con and who to contact in an emergency. Mini fridge in the room with fresh milk, water and a couple of snacks as well as coffee/tea making facilities and a proper hairdryer - not the normal weak ones which take forever to dry! Though the bar was full when we arrived, you couldn't hear anything in the room. We were at a do and arrived back after 12 - with prior warning Staff ensured we were able to get back in and allowed us a later check out upon request. Didn't get up in time for breakfast but where still offered toast and cereal and a brew. Pub absolutely stunning and beer garden had a beautiful view, very peaceful place. It's located in a great spot to explore the east coast and its castles. Would highly recommend!
In the French room, the bathroom was next door though private. There was a separate key and dressing gowns provided and we didn't see anyone else so felt like an en suite. Just was a bit worried about bumping into someone after my morning shower! Wouldn't put me off staying in that room again though!

Everything. Our room was excellent, spacious and very comfortable with a large bathroom and walk in shower. The bar area was cozy and staff very welcoming. The evening meal was a Sunday lunch menu with plenty options. The quality of the food was excellent. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff were very helpful with our needs on a personal matter and could not have been more understanding and compassionate.

Booked as a gift for my parents. They were thrilled with it. They loved the area, so much do they asked to stay another night. Unfortunately The Tankerville couldn’t accommodate them. They enjoyed the good and room
I should have checked the booking but the didn’t have an en-suite but a private bathroom along the corridor. Mum is particular so should have checked this, my fault not The Tankerville.
