Great location for exploring the beautiful surrounding area, stayed at Purdy Lodge many times and have always enjoyed our times there. it’s dog friendly so we can bring our little dog too the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I unfortunately broke my ankle midway through our 2 night stay whilst out walking. Due to my limited mobility we were going to skip breakfast and make our way home, but the staff very thoughtfully gave us coffee, orange juice and bacon sandwiches to eat in the car before we left, when they were made aware of our situation. Very helpful and kind service as always!

Nothing!

The staff are lovely, really friendly, full of info about the local area. They're fab with children and take time to talk with them and us grown ups too. Their menu is excellent, not too fancy, you come away feeling full. "Proper food" as we say up North. The rooms are very clean, warm and have a decent kettle, mugs, tea, coffee and biscuits. Tried the cafe side this time, again very clean. Fantastic choice of fresh takeaway sandwiches. Few gift items and comics/newspapers etc. Our 3rd stop over. We'll book to stay here again, next Easter. Handy petrol station next door and an ATM.

We have stayed here twice this year. The location is excellent for journeying on North as we were in June. It is very nicely furnished and the staff are helpful and friendly. The food is excellent and there is a lot of choice for both breakfast and dinner. There is always a lot of people staying which says it all.

The windows could do with replacing as ithey are wood framed and it was draughty on occasions. The walls are thin and, unfortunately, for 3 nights, we had a couple of noisy guys, with no respect, in the room next door. They caused some damage too which accounted for the amount of noise they made. However it stopped by 11pm and wasn't worthy of complaint. The TV lessened the noise anyway.

Brilliant dog friendly hotel, where dogs are allowed in the bar at mealtimes. . I liked that the bedrooms have a separate entrance. So didn't need to take the dog through reception. Spotlessly clean throughout. Nice room. Exceptionally good food and the staff were brilliant. Very friendly, helpful, couldn't do enough. Café next door owned by the hotel, open 24/7 was useful. Very easy driving distance from top sights and beaches. Can't recommend it highly enough

Bedroom got very stuffy in warm weather (but you can ask for a fan )

The location was appropriate to where we wanted to visit and was ideal. We actually stopped off on the way to Holly Island for a bite to eat as it has an onsite cafe that's open to people passing by. I think it offers 24 hour facilities, but not sure if this applies to the cafe too. The breakfast was excellent so no complaints with that, and the accommodation was on par with premier inns so no complaints there either. I would stay here again and I would recommend it.

The option for vegetarians wasn't brilliant with there being only 2 dishes on the menu, and my option for the pie was a bit disappointing as it was very dry on the outside and soggy underneath. This could have been down to the pie being to a vegan recipe perhaps ? The overall presentation was great so no problem with that, just not to my liking. The other option was for a burger, so maybe I should have gone for that instead? I will say the breakfast made up for this the next morning and I certainly would stay here again in the future.

Friendly staff. Fast WiFi. Handy location for exploring the area. Was afraid the A1 nearby would make it noisy, but their soundproofing was great, could not hear the road or other guests at all. Food good at breakfast and dinner. The 24 hour café is handy for snacks. Comfortable bed.

Bathroom was a bit grubby when I arrived - dirty shoe prints on floor tiles and fingerprints on top of cistern, enamel temperature disc on shower fell off. Bedroom seemed clean but decor a bit worn and tired. Room a bit stuffy at night.

The food was amazing in purdy lodge The steak and ale pie was the best I've had. The lodge has a truckers cafe 24/7 open on the end near the petrol station should you require anything. We didn't as the bar / restaurant provided plenty for your £.♥️ Very quiet room overlooking a farm field at the rear of the hotel with Bamburgh castle in the distance. We loved this place , well situated for hitting most tourists spots and dog friendly.

Nothing we Loved it. I posted two pics to show restaurant food.😍

The location was better than expected. Close to all the places of interest. The price was very good value and can compete with any other establishment as Purdy lodge offers the best breakfast ever and caters for anyone on Special Diets example GF Vegetarian Vegan or any other request.

Liked everything 😊 Liked the Staff. They made you feel at home and appeared to work like one big happy family. Can't thank them enough as they were all very approachable and pleasant throughout our stay.

We were doing a Ghost Hunt at Chillingham Castle. The location of this hotel for us was ideal. The views from the hotel room are amazing. The hotel room itself was clean and comfortable. The food considering a lot of people complain about it was really lovely. I had the steak and ale pie which was not only value for money but it was lovely. I wanted to have dessert but I was absolutely stuffed afterwards. Another thing mentioned on previous reviews was the attitude of staff however we didn’t experience this at all, staff were great. Purdy Lodge was a pleasant experience and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Nothing to complain about, after reading all the reviews I was presently surprised. I think the reviews on here are unnecessarily harsh and unfounded. Don’t read into what people say people just like to complain. I would definitely stay here again. Had a pleasant and wonderful visit. Very homely.
